I am a sophomore in college and currently pre-med and my biggest fear involving committing to medical school is not being able to experience life events like marriage until after medical school or until I feel like it is the right time. Soooo happy you posted this video and sent the message out to "Just Do It". CONGRATS !!

Hello Jenny, I loved your video and I respect what you have done in your career. As a fellow med student I know exactly what you are going through. I got married last year during my 3rd year, and of course I was constantly bombarded with negativity and scrutiny with everyone telling me to wait until I finish. I would answer them exactly how you did. Living your personal life does not have to be put on hold because of some other aspects of life, getting married or having a relationship should only be an addition to that life that strengthens you and gives you a stronger motivation to complete whatever you have started. Wish you the best of luck Jenny!

Hi, Jenny. There is no exact moment to be happy in this life, the most appropriate time can be anytime and anywhere. For this reason, we should not wait for the perfect moment, but take the moment and make it perfect. That was exactly what you did. Congratulations on your wedding, everything was so beautiful. I'm wishing you and your family every happiness).

I can't tell you how much I needed to see this video.... I actually just watched a few of your videos for the first time, and it made it just made me so excited for my own med school journey. I just recently graduated college, I'm taking the MCAT in September and your video just painted a realistic picture in my mind on how life can be. It's what you make it and med school is what you make it as well. You hear stories about medical students only having time to study, study, and study, so it's really really nice to see that you don't have to give up those human qualities that make it all worth while.

Dr. Le, another year has passed following your journey and another year that I come back to this video. I’m currently a third year medical student considering marriage with my life partner. It’s really hard because I fear the withdrawal of my family support due to parental cultural differences but at this point my partner really is my main support system. It’s inspiring to see you take that large step when you were also in medical school. Still have no clue what decision I’ll make (wait until after graduation or just bite the bullet and do it now) but your video really shows me that it is possible to do it and remain successful and happy with a beautiful family of your own ❤️

Ultimately getting married is just a title with some tax benefits. Does not change anything in your relationship with your life partner. My mom has come around a bit. We don’t have the relationship I want but I don’t think we ever would have. Learning the live for me was one of the hardest and best things I did for myself. Also wish I eloped because weddings are too much 😅

Congratulations!! I switched careers (I was a publicist before) and I'm applying next year to med school. I'm currently 23 (I graduated college when I was 19) and it's just scary to think of how time consuming medicine is, but you just made me realize that I don't have to stop my entire life, I just need to plan! I'm just scared of how much I'll have to give up. What is your free time like & how much sleep did you get through the first 2 years vs clinical years? Again, congrats to you & your hubby. Wishing you many years of happiness & success.
@drjennale
@drjennale 8 жыл бұрын
I tell everyone that medicine is a tough road. The truth of the matter is you do sacrifice a lot of your life to become and live as a physician. But the joys that it brings can be one of the greatest. Compared to college, I have significantly less free time in medical school. First year you still have have summer. Second year you still have winter break. Third year - I have 4 weeks vacation for the entire year. During the first two years, I studied a lot. Sleeping about 5 hours a night on average. Clinical years are definitely better mentally. Now I sleep good 6! LOL Hope that gives you some sort of perspective. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@Daylas0ul

+Jenny Le Thanks for the reply. I feel like it's the right choice for me. I do enjoy my free time, but as long as I can have at least a little wiggle room outside of medical school to do things, I think it will all be worth it. Good luck finishing up!

Yep. I wasn't too sure because your husband is white, my sister in law, she kept the last name le. My fiance said you are going to follow the American tradition. So, here I am in a new culture. (Me being black, Irish, and Italian with no culture to his). In general your video gave me a lot of hope when planning this wedding and waiting for the "right" time to have a family. Of course his mother is there to support. (really happy to hear I won't have to pay for daycare). Also, I wasn't to sure if I wanted to do family med, or surgery.

You looked amazing! Only thing I'd change are those unnatural looking contacts :( Do you wear them every single day? I knew a girl in college that wore blue contacts for years and would swear they were real up until the time she had a daughter and then she never wore them again. I guess that's what it took to realize she was her most beautiful the way god made her and her daughter.

Thank you so much! I am blind as a bat, so yes I do wear them everyday. I love my brown eyes, I love my freckles, and I love the skin I'm in. I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and happiness can only come from with in. For each to their own. I appreciate your input.

Jenny Le Nice!! I think anyone that looks at you would agree you're beautiful! I didn't know you had freckles! Now I have to watch more of your videos to see, haha :)

Ya! They come out more in the summer time. My camera isn't the best quality either so it might be difficult.
