There is no perfect resume. To start with there is a wide range of skills and knowledge and the depth really sets candidates apart. The more challenging piece is determining if a candidate will fit a job based on their soft skills and personality. Soft skills can include communication style and the ability to negotiate. Personality traits would be things such as the big 5 traits (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism) or the Myer's Briggs personality characteristics:
Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)
Sensing (S) or Intuition (N)
Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)
The worst part is I have seen people claim specific characteristics are good and other characteristics are bad. The real analysis should be based on the hiring manager, their team, and the teams they will work with. In this video I give the analogy of dating and finding a partner. Everyone will have different preferences and fit better with different people. Online dating really is like hiring in the sense that you get a bio (resume) and a short period to make a decision on whether you want to continue the relationship.
The even harder part is building an entire cohesive team. Getting personalities to match and work well together is always a large challenge, especially when teams have turn over and promotions.

Actually funny that you make this video. At the investment bank where I am doing a rotational program, they also describe the hiring process (even within the bank) in terms of matchmaking

Hello Dimitri, I have a BSc in Economics (I would say it was more like Business Administration) and MSc in Finance. I work as an energy trader, I would like to improve my quantitative and programming skills and I am considering two online part-time (I won’t leave my current job) MSc: “Data Science (Statistics)” by Leeds Uni and “Statistical Science” by Nottingham Uni. I like the flexibility of the Leeds one and that it covers a bit of Python as well while Nottingham only uses R. However, I am worried of the potential lack of rigour when compared to a more classic Stats master. Ho do you think these programs compare? Thank you for your help

Hello Dimitri, I have 13+ years of experience as a prop trader(discretionary). Can you please guide me on how to advance my trading career. How can I make a shift from a discretionary approach to a quantitative approach? Is there any step by step approach that you would recommend to me?

Hey Dimitri! just stumbled upon your page and watched a video you posted 3 years ago about why you don't trade. Please can you tell me your point of view on technical analysis, do you think it can actually be profitable?

Hi Dimitri, please help, i want to consult about undergraduate education, there are 1 choice i have to make from a Data Science and AI (DSAI) degree or an Applied Computing in Finance (ACF) degree, both are in NTU (Nanyang Technological University). Next in the future, i want to get into MFE (Master of Science in Financial Engineering) in the graduate degree. Which undergraduate degree should i get in to? DSAI or ACF. Thank you very much.

If you are planning to get a masters afterwards, I would get the DSAI degree as it looked more technical (math, stats, and programming). The ACF was more a 50/50 blend which would be good to learn finance however I would be concerned you would get enough math to do a good masters degree afterwards.

With the potential for universal operating system in the future that should streamline around more wholistic knowledge less semantics to be learned along the way as the product or services are less relevant could allow age to drive some of the hiring process more. With actual dialectical vision centered on pragmatic common sense objectivism proper centered and all other pretentious over time lines of measure relocated to more specific or specialized practices as something people do later in life it would really help futre gens streamline away some of the whataboutism nilhisms problems we inherit from 1900s structuralism created in our current divisions of word & context. This truly Is very secularized 90.yr later and separated generations carved up from the past.

What's wrong you don't like more self sufficiency of being able to spread out for better quality of life? You don't want the ability for material sciences & computation to help extract low concentration of minerals in desolate obstacles into usable products and services? Power of middle of nowhere to operate business that only major city's could support in the past ..
