@@vleaky3430 As someone who backs Gregg's patreon for this exact reason... Stop being a facetious asshole. It's one thing to promote a product that's just... Bad, but isn't harmful; taking their money just doesn't matter as much. But... BetterHelp actively harms its users, and uses the lack of knowledge of this from smaller creators to get people to sponsor them so they can continue to rake in money while continuing to not care about their clients. If they ACTUALLY cared, had licensed therapists, and were just providing a bad service because of overpricing or something? Okay, that's pretty excusable; annoying, but excusable if people wanna overpay; but... Taking advantage of people not knowing better is beyond scummy, it's actually villainous. I cannot cite any exact sources of what BH has done, but I know they sell info of their users (although who doesn't, these days...) and they, again, have unlicensed, unvetted therapists just there to make money. Or even if they ARE there to help, they might be giving the wrong advice and being taken to heart because it's a therapy service and they're unlicensed.

Greg, I'm only adding my voice to this chorus because I know from some of your past videos that you're an ethics-conscious creator, especially when it comes to sponsors/brand deals. I know that you care about the impact you have on your viewers and on the world, because you have shown that you're that kind of person. I trust that you didn't know about the allegations against BetterHelp (they might be more than allegations at this point, not sure), and I trust that once you become aware of the situation that you would drop the sponsor as soon as you're legally able to. Great video by the way--you're one of the best people I've seen on KZfaq when it comes to giving detailed tasting notes. More generically known as clouding agents. Basically they mimic the cloudy, colloid suspension you would typically see in fruit juice (or vegetable juice, since we're talking ginger) by adding an oil emulsion. It's an optical illusion to make the drink appear cloudy as if it had a higher juice or natural product content. Basically never a good sign to see on an ingredient list, unless you're specifically looking for a cloudy mixer.

By excluding "ginger ales,' you missed out on a classic southern US option: Blenheim's Ginger Ale. Available in the regular (designated as "NAH," or "not as hot" on the bottle) and spicy ("HOT" on the bottle) you've missed out on an American icon. Made in Hamer, South Carolina since 1903, it's a classic, straightforward ginger ale with a serious kick: rivaling--nay, surpassing--the power of so-called ginger "beers" in its balance of sweetness to gingery-ness. I heartily recommend you seek out a six-pack of both the regular and hot Blenheim ginger ales. You won't be disappointed.

For reference, fentimans is classed as a premium soft drink company in the uk. Swepes or fevertree is normally a standard over here for most mixers. Crabbies is the standard ginger beer you get here but is alcholic and they also do ginger wine which is worth a try as a ginger lover

When it comes to ginger beer, my favorite for drinking straight is definitely Maine Root, but the ginger is probably too strong/spicy for mixing. There's also Galvanina, which is a believe an Italian brand, that has an amazing ginger beer. For mixing though, it's gotta be Fever Tree.

Fentiman's is pretty common in the UK - in the supermarkets and a decent number of pubs/bars. I'd say as popular as Fever Tree. My go-to in the UK is the Supermalt Ginger Beer. Similar to Bundaberg but less carbonated, less sweet and more gingery. The Old Jamaica Extra Fiery is also pretty good. +1 on BetterHelp comments.

My understanding is that the alcohol content of small beer is a side effect of the fermentation process, but that fermentation process was actaully intended to provide effervescence. I really like Bunderberg because a lot of the ginger beers I've had have, at least to me, too much of a lime flavor on the back end because I think they're inteded to be mixers more than drinks to drink on their own. That said, the big ginger beer I see here a lot is Fever Tree, which comes in bottles rather than the mixer cans.

Fever Tree is definitely my favorite, it's dryer and hotter than Bundaberg, but it also has no other fruit juices or flavors, so it definitely makes for a great drink on it's own or as a mixer I also really dislike reeds, I don't want pinapple in my ginger beer, might work well in a dark n stormy, but if i'm just drinking it on its own or in a mule, I much prefer something without fruit juices

I actually have made ginger beer from scratch. It IS fermented and alcoholic, but very minimally alcoholic, like 2% at most. It actually generates a ginger "mother" like a natural vinegar process does. You just mix water and ginger and either an established mother or you can pitch a brewers yeast. I followed the process of fermenting in a carboy with a bottle ferment by adding a small amount of sugar when I split the carboy into bottles. I think the fermentation's purpose has more to do with preservation and safe drinking historically (like wine and beer did way back).

We need a part 2 with Fever Tree, Bundaberg light (it's also more gingery, I prefer it), Fentiman's Pink Ginger, Old Jamaica (original and fiery)... ;) (also, you probably just forgot to do your background check on BetterHelp, but seriously, their employees sometimes aren't even psych professionals, they sold private medical data, people were mistreated by "therapists"... Old Jamaics and Coca Cola is a lovely combo. (Or at least it was before the sugar tax). They have tried a few times to make ginger flavoured coke and it always comes out like syrupy ginger bread. What you need is the sweetness to be cut and the heat from the ginger. Complements the cola very well. (Much like vanilla)

Just a note about Betty Buzz: I'm a buyer for a wine shop. The Betty Buzz line (non-alc, they have a RTD cocktail line as well) was presented to me as mocktails that can moonlight as mixers. Blake Lively doesn't drink but many people in her life do, so she wanted something that could easily work both ways. At least that was the pitch the sales rep gave me. I've had maybe 75% of these ginger beers. Other than Bundaberg and maybe Fever Tree, Betty Buzz is probably my favorite.

actually, there are ginger ales that DO have "heat" in them and true ginger flavor Blenheim Red Cap is one, another is Vernors. That being said my favorite ginger beer hands down is Bundaberg. But, you can also make your own, peel and cut ginger into matchsticks, drop into a sauce pan with 2 parts sugar one part water and simmer making a ginger infused syrup. Take out the ginger, place the ginger on a cookie sheet lines with parchment paper, dust with demerara sugar and place in a oven on lowest setting to dry out making crystalized/candied ginger that you can store in an airtight container and use as a snack or garnish. Mix that syrup with your favorite soda water and you have essentially ginger ale/beer.

I suspect Blenheim fell victim to the naming conventions of Ginger Beer vs Ginger Ale. While many of these are more Ginger (and other flavored) Sodas, Blenheim tastes much more akin to Bundaberg’s Ginger Beer as an unadulterated straight dry Ginger Beer. Meanwhile, we find out that what Greg likes most are the ginger beers that are mixed with pineapple, orange and other flavors Fevertree, which he was initially rather positive about didn’t get a second comment in the comparisons, but is also a rather straight and basic blend. Their Ginger Ale is also rather straight and basic, but sweeter and milder. The Trader Joe’s Triple XXX Ginger beer is another amazing option.
