Because like you said, GMs spend tons of time studying and reviewing all the current and historical games played by fellow GMs. And of the current GMs, perhaps none have a better photographic memory/recollection of past games than Hikaru (and Magnus). I’d argue Hikaru actually has a better ability to recall positions and visualize the board blindfolded than Magnus - he just immediately recalls precise positions from random games that happened 20 years ago on stream all the time. So the idea of showing random high level games from chess tournaments would probably just be far too easy, unless they were to find games from lower level or lesser known GMs at random tournaments that perhaps Hikaru hasn’t seen. Now, the idea of showing him random online games he’s never seen, between super GMs, would be interesting. He’d still probably be able to identify the style of play pretty quickly, just based on the opening and time usage (if clock was visible to him). But it would definitely be good content!

His alt account is for stuff like blindfolded chess and fun stuff like playing subscribers or whatev. Not standard games like blitz or classical where the only real goal is gaining rating points. You wouldnt wanna play blindfold chess or against people 2000 rating points lower than you, because if you lose, youd lose a ton of rating points. I actually set a guy back 35 points in a single game yesterday, 5+0 blitz. If he played a 1100 and they cheated hed have to win like 30 legit games against high rated guys to get his rating back up.

@@slimesannn but you check on c5 not on c8 with the queen, and then the king is obligated to go to a lightsquare and bishop checks seems brutal, then you can go to the back rank with the queen always check, or if you are scared just make some room and you should be winning.

Because Black gets n e4 forking the pawns and even after d c2 he can nxc3 defendet by the bishop on g7 and your c5 pawn is hanging also, so its much harder to play for white and your giving away that slight advantage
