As someone who does age regression (agere for short as I will be referring to it from now on) Is completely different from transage. You actually described it really well. Transage is when you 'identify' as a different age while with agere it is where you actually revert back to the mindset you were in when you were that old. Like how currently I have spent 15 almost 16 years on this earth I will sometimes revert back to maybe like a 5 year olds mindset even though I am 15. This type of stuff can happen voluntarily and non voluntarily. When it happens voluntarily it is usually used to help cope with past traumatic events or relieve stress, while when non voluntarily regressed it is usually by something that triggers it. Like say If you go past build-a-bear that can trigger a non voluntary regression moment. And sometimes people can be manipulative and force ppl in the agere community to non voluntarily regress, and when they do that quite a bit of the time the people they do that to will see it as fine because they are in a weak moment or they trust the person or they even have issues where it can be extremely difficult to lose someone so if that person gains their trust and manipulates them to regress so they are in a childlike mindset where they do not understand what is going on around them, it would often be easier for the one who manipulated them to stay as their friend or even their CG (cg stands for caregiver, when age regressed the people most of the time cant operate stuff themselves so they need someone to be their cg to take care of them). Sorry about this being a whole tangent, when I get going when someone doesnt understand something that I do I end up going on tangents to explain it cause of my adhd. I feel so bad for the under age kids, if they even are kids. When you're young, especially with low self-esteem it's easy to be groomed. You see adults taking intrest in you, and you think it's cute because they're "mature" and not like other boys/girls. They start telling you things, and you defend their practices because it makes you feel good. I'd know, because I used to be one of those kids. I'm an adult now, and reflecting back on what happened, I'm lucky I made it out without being hurt, taken, ect. I'm not defending these practices, but I can see why some kids/teens would defend this, especially with how these fucking adults groom and manipulate them.
