gold quadruped mechs are practical, it uses less thruster fuel om ground since it heavily relies on its kinetic movement its gonna strain its joints but its still pretty fast I mean we are literally trying to create four legged robots irl to aid in the military ever heard of boston dynamics? also gold even way back when sunrise made gundam explain that its supposed to have beam reflective properties there could be some science to that but I'm guessing its just to differentiate that this frame is beam reflective or has a unique armor made from fantasy metals like sakuradite or some shiz, in other words you don't have to mount extra armor on your nimble cavalry ground mech and make it run faster since any beam attack is just gonna bounce off, although to be fair I imagine this sort of mech was made for hit and run tactics much like actual cavalry, its not meant to stay stationary and do sword fights at close range so I dont think it needs beam reflective coating or armor, it just needs to be really fast at charging towards something, running away, and perhaps carry a chariot or cargo to give it more utility.

I watched this like 2 years ago and I didn’t hate it but my god the characters were annoying. Those accents in the dub too were horrible also and the Europeans were even more pompous than the Britannians at times so I couldn’t get attached to any of them. Couldn’t stand most of the cast.
