There is a lot of empty space out here, it's true. You really get to see the value of it from evening to morning. Sunset, night sky, and sunrise are beautiful. There's also a lot of nothing to do out here. I mean, you can find ways to entertain yourself if you really look. Lubbock has the Science Spectrum, Joyland, (mini amusement park that gets hand-me-down rides) Main Event, and several movie theaters. (Alamo Drafthouse! If you EVER get the chance ANYWHERE, go to an Alamo Drafthouse!!!) If you look around, you'll find shooting ranges and stuff, and if you're willing to go out a couple of hours to Palo Duro canyon in the summer, you can hike around and go see the musical Texas in the outdoor amphitheater. If you get the chance, I recommend you go see that show because it provides funds for the college kids participating.

I can only speak for the panhandle of Texas but the state is terrible for rest stops and it's one of the less enjoyable areas to cross the country. I am so happy to see new vlogs!

I was born in Monahans, TX and lived in a very very very tiny town called Pyote. I attended school in Pecos till 1995. Yes, West Texas is pretty desolate. But big Bend national park is really amazing :)

I wish you spent more time in SA. There are so many awesome and beautiful things there: the river walk, the Alamo, and just the heart of the city in general. It really is a beautiful city. Wish I was able to head back there soon.

So I was awake till 7Am here and paused this video at the start so I could go to subway for breakfast. I return home with my food and see the coincidence of Stephen and Mal eating Subway later on in the vid. Such an odd coincidence lol.

I've been to North Star mall a few times! Only they were on band trips so I never really got to look around a what I wanted since I was stuck with other band people. But the malls in San Antonio sure beat the ones where I live.

I'm glad you liked San Antonio. I was born and raised here and it's a great city aside from some really crazy sports fans. So you went to NorthStar Mall eh? That's actually one of the better malls around here. It's also literally right down the street from my place and yet I've only been there once. I have to admit though, aside from SeaWorld and Six Flags, our tourist attractions are pathetic. The Alamo is literally a shack in the middle of downtown and the Riverwalk is great if you haven't been mugged in a while. If you guys ever decide to come back let me know. I'd love to meet you maybe.

Having lived in Texas, I can tell you that huge trucks are a major part of life. Not *your* truck necessarily.

If you'd come to Dallas instead of Houston, you could have gone through Lubbock, which is a decently-sized city in West Texas (population 200,000).

Most of the large to really big cities of Texas are in the South, East, and North parts of Texas... Lubbock is like an isolated large city in the Panhandle region of Texas. But yeah, there's nothing in Central and West Texas!

I live 45 minutes from the Canada-USA border in Ontario, when I visit my uncle I have to basically shut off my cell phone because my carrier is stupid and thinks "hey we'll just charge you roaming fees whether you use it or not".

I live in west Texas. There is nothing. We have to drive thirty minutes minimum for a movie theatre, four hours for real shopping. The only places to eat in my town are the gas stations and one family owned Mexican place. Its terribly boring.

That's a pet peeve of mine. I hate _hate_ HATE when people change lanes without a turn signal. I mean it's not like I can do anything about it without putting myself in danger though, so... bleh.

Texas drivers are like that. I use my turn signals but majority don't. I guess it's just because Texas (cities mainly) are very busy. Oh and there is an 85 speed limit. I think it's when I'm coming back from College Station.
