What Hadley found was what they used to cut meat from bones and make it real thin. I can’t remember the name though. Hopes was an arrowhead also it was used more for killing animals than Hadley’s. Hadleys was used mainly by the ladies in the kitchen.

I haven’t been swimming in the creek since I was a kid. Thanks Sean for taking us right in the water with you and the kids. I could picture how refreshing and fun it was !

My yorkie absolutely was a water dog. She wrecked my pond because she would not stay out of it and relentlessly swam followed by a roll in the dirt, followed by another swim. I cleaned the filter, repaired the fountains, tried everything but as soon as anyone opened the door, she was gone swimming. At the river she would fetch anything and was a really strong swimmer. My other yorkie would swim but I always put a life jacket on him because there was a lot of boat traffic and he was only 4 lbs. he would dig up lol the white rocks and make piles on the beach, it was the craziest thing. I didn’t teach him that. He wasn’t a pond swimmer though. Even my German shepherd stayed out of the pond and she loved water as well. Eventually I gave up on the pond, gave away the fish and just had an in ground dog pool.

Good gathering of family there. My favorite Holiday is Thanksgiving. That one's all about gathering together with friends/family and having a great meal together.

FYI I just learned that when you are cooking crawdads that once they have boiled in the seasonings(Zatarain's or whatever) you need to let them sit in the seasoned water for 20 to 40 minutes.

Watching y’all walking in the creek reminded me of ALL the family reunions we used to have at Turner Falls in the 60’s and 70’s. That was the best time with everyone there. I sure miss those times.

Those are some really nice pieces of history. You’re finding arrowhead scrapers other utensils so there must’ve been a nice encampment there for quite a while. Oh baby, your property was part of the Native Americans property on the other side of you at one time finding these little artifacts is really nice, I hope the girls someday make shadow boxes and put all those beautiful little pieces they found, and then when they get older, they could pass that history down to the next generation❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Get a small child size leaf rake or even a full size one and you can look over an area and then run rake over it and stir it up and sometimes that will make you spot one. Check on the sandbars like that too. Especially after rains and as creek rises and falls and area changes

I know there's not a terrible lot you or anyone could do for the turtle BUT I would reach out to either a local rescue/rehabber or reach out to For Fox Sake which is in TN but I know they do a bunch of turtle rehabbing; just to ask for any tips n tricks they might be able to tell you if this happens again. There might be ways to check for inhaled water or ways to administer "CPR" to help get it breathing better but only a licensed and trained turtle rehabber can tell you correctly. This was a nice family get together! It was neat seeing the lil ones enjoying the creek as much as the big kids and adults! It reminded me of the creek in my great aunt's back yard in PA when I was 3 and my sister was 6! There was a really big area right behind her house perfect for taking a dip. That creek had a ton of bull frogs in the wooded areas beyond the clearing that were really creepy and loud at night, my lil creative mind found ways to make it not so scary though!

Years ago I arrowhead hunted. I found a nice bird point, and a few others, but I ended up with a lick tub full of chips. That was years of gathering. It was theraputic for me.

Hadley's looks more like a butchering blade or a hide scraper. That rounded profile makes it easier to harvest the meat from the bones than a long thin blade, also it is less likely to brake.
