The blue guy with black hair is named "Arino". He says "Yatta ze" [We did it] when you first get the costume, "Jump" and "Yotto" [Hop] when you jump, "Kacho: ON" [no idea what that means] when posing, "Kimi no misu da yo" [That's your fault/that's your mistake] when dying. When you win, he says "Clear shimashita yo, clear shimashita yo, dinner mae ni kaereru kamo" [I cleared it! I cleared it! Maybe I can get home before dinner!].

Arino Kacho has a Japanese show that's sort of like a let's play series with a bit of budget to it. When he turns on consoles like the NES or SNES he'll say "Kacho On" as a sort of intentionally awkward catch phrase.

Levels like that second one are really going to make me miss Mario Maker 1 when the servers go down. Its definitely an experience you can only get in Mario Maker 1, for better or worse.

I don't think it is possible to get through the gap, its not a full block. I'm guessing if it was possible either the world record (which was 23 seconds) or Ryukahr would have used it.

Yotto(よっと) is an interjection in Japanese used to express light effort (such as hopping over something small). not to be confused with yoisho or yoishotto which also express effort, but for lifting something heavy. There are a ton of different sound effect words like this in Japanese.

Hey ryu I love watching all you Mario maker videos both 1 and 2. You are definitely right about mm1 being a different experience which I think do a lot to the dislike button. So many of the "poorly" designed levels that are so fun to watch you figure out and cheese are filtered out of endless super expert. Most of the Level you end up playing are well thought out levels with a different kind of challenge compared to the total nonsense of mm1. Know that that the mm1 servers are going down I've been hoping you will find a way to bring the magic of mm1 into mm2. One thought I had was to create a custom overlay that mimics the 100 Mario life screen, combing something like that with the uncleared expert or super expert levels might give a different feel in mm2 that isn't just endless 30 life Mario. I look forward to seeing what you come with once Mario maker goes down!!

The biggest reason is that you can win the 100-Mario challenge. There are other things like costumes, physics, lanky mario, but he doesn't get the same satisfaction from endless mode.

@@Bonkava Essentially because you can actually beat 100-Man, so there's some semblance of stakes. With Endless, it's just a matter of time until you inevitably fail. There is no victory, only delaying your defeat.

They don't appreciate things like beating scores, going beyond previous limits or just 'beat x levels and calling it a win'. Plus SMM2 is so much more polished than SSM1, just Super Mario 2 and Zelda (it's not just a COSTUME) make it better to me. But what is the worst is that people don't get that SMM2 is NOT supposed to be SSM1. Like SMM3 is not supposed to be SMM1 or SMM2. Lots saying SMM2 should have 100 challenge is essentially proving it.
