Unfortunately, this wasn't a battle to save themselves. They had no hope and knew they could not win. They fought so they could choose their time of death and as a last act of defiance against the Germans.

As an American with strong Polish ancestry this saddens me deeply. My Great-Grandfather was a polish soldier early in the war. After Poland fell he fled to Norway, Fought in the Free Polish Army in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Normandy, France, Rhine, Germany. He was wounded six times. Most of his family died from Nazi brutality. After the war he did not return to Poland because the USSR installed a puppet government. For years he lived in USA until 2004 when he visited Poland for the first time sense 1939. I was with him during that trip. He moved back to Poland in 2006 and in 2011 he died and was buried in his native country of Poland. So i may identify as an American but I am also deeply Polish.

My Polish-Jewish grandmother migrated (as a child) from Poland to The Netherlands, as her father worked for a shipping company in the mid 1920's. We lost all our relatives who lived in Poland, but my grandparents (and great grandparents) survived the war because they went on to the Dutch East Indies in 1931. My mother was actually born in a Japanese concentration camp but the whole family survived. After the war/Indonesian independence they went to Suriname and the Antilles for a while and eventually settling in Rotterdam. I can relate, Dominic Innecken, and I am pretty proud of my Polish-Jewish roots.

@@halinamoulin6182 Only a jewish revisionist could write such nonsense. Jews were hated in Poland for centuries and used by kings as moneylenders which the jews gladly did and for hundreds of years they took advantage of the poor peasantry and serfs in Poland. Throughout history when given the opportunity they stabbed Poland in the back. People who are Polish living in Poland who take a DNA test almost never have jewish ancestry.

This is so sad… I read many of the comments saying”never again” And I think at least humanity learned from that episode Then I ask myself are there any groups of people being identified by ethnicity and being forced into ghettos surrounded by walls and without freedom of movement and restrained by military force with ‘no hope’ and i think ….. no …. Anyone who witnessed this would never allow that to happen again ……….. then I look to the west ba nk and ghaza and think …. Oh maybe we would let it happen again after all ……… but how do we change peoples behaviour?……. I guess in another 50 years I’ll be watching a historical video about it ..

7:03 Do walk ulicznych potrzebne są pistolety maszynowe. Pojedynczy nisko lecący myśliwiec-bombowiec Mosquito mógł zrzucić 200+ działek stenowych z amunicją w kanistrach ze spadochronem. Miał zasięg i prędkość, by unikać wrogich myśliwców. Wymagałoby to pewnego rodzaju uprzedniej współpracy z Londynem, aby dokładnie uzgodnić, jakie będzie słowo kod. To wymaga, aby ktoś, kto ma dostęp do "aryjskiej" części Warszawy, ewentualnie współpracował z Armią Krajową (AK) w celu przekazywania wiadomości. Myślę, że można było to zrobić. Ale z perspektywy czasu jest to łatwe. Myślę, że można było to zrobić. Ale z perspektywy czasu jest to łatwe.

7:03 For street fighting you need submachine guns. A single low flying mosquito fighter bomber could have dropped 200+ sten guns with ammo in parachute retarded canisters. It had the range and it had the speed to evade enemy fighters. Precisely where to drop is not the problem. You watch for a flare or a flashing light coming from a roof top The problem is knowing exactly when. Even the ZOB and ZZW didn't know exactly when in April the SS were going to enter the ghetto. I suppose the only way of quickly informing London and saying "send the weapons now" would have been by transmitting a pre arranged coded signal, if a transmitter even existed in the ghetto but I'm fairly sure out of 65,000 people someone had the technical knowledge and ability to make one. It would require some kind of prior liaison with London to agree exactly what the code word would be. That requires someone with access to the 'aryan' part of Warsaw possibly to work with the home army (AK) to relay messages. I think it could have been done. But it's easy in hindsight.

False statement! Polish people were considered by natzis as subhuman and they were murdered, tortured by the millions. Many died in concentration camps. Please educate yourself. It's embarrassing.

Listen to what this man said at 7:30. The Polish govt in exile in London sent to the Jews in the ghetto 50 revolvers, and 4 kg of explosives. I wonder why ? Was it because they were NOT CATHOLICS. For naive readers in the US who don't know much about european politics. I'm surprised the the Poles in London didn't blame the Russians for this too, as they usually do. When a govt leaves it's people then it is not good to rule them. How many Poles outside the ghetto helped the jewish uprising ? Very few, and they were getting money for it. There were some exceptions. But generally they let them suffer. So when Poles don't care about their own citizens then they should SHUT UP ABOUT RUSSIANS NOT HELPING THEM IN 1944.

Nazist Germans did it with the help of bad people from other nations (Polish, Jews, Ukrainians, Hungarians etc.) to be correct. Remember that 1/4 of Poland citizens died during the war. Polish people were poor and luted by Germans. Any help given to Jews was punished by death unlike any other country ocupied by Germans. Nevertheless Polish people were hiding Jews, many of them died becouse of it. I personalny knew one woman who helped Jews to servive the war. Your comment just antagonize people. Germans and Russians are always trying to antagonize nations of previous Polish-Lithuenian Comonwelth. But now Poland help the Ukrainians brothers to defeat new born naZist country. 🇵🇱🇮🇱🇺🇦. If Poles were / are anti semitic why do you think Poles are the nation that saved biggest numbers of jews during ww2? Poland had more citizens decorated as Righteous among the nations than any other . Drop this ridicilous propaganda and seek facts . Poles did not provide weapons becouse they could not at that time and later on when Poles staged uprising they freed jews who fought side by side with Poles against Germans . Its easy to repeat bullshit , than to do simple reserch ...

Arek, you have some terms mixed up, Zionists are not leftist, the term just means they fight for Jews to have their own country and for it's independence, like Poles did for their country. And Zionists are anything but leftist, leftists hate Zionist so maybe you are a leftist yourself and have some respect here, don't call people what you don't want them to call you and I would gladly do it right towards you if I wanted to lower myself to your level.
