My favorite thing about this series is the same as my favorite thing about you: The joy and enthusiasm you bring to our hobby. Thank you, ma'am! Understand the "not for a while" on doing 30 consecutive days. It's a real time commitment. We'll enjoy the next one, whenever it is! My favorite swatch technique was the full page baggie swatch. Inspired!! I already do a small baggie swatch but I think I may start a supplementary journal for full page baggie swatching (and refer to the page of the "baggie journal" in my main "swatch/pangram pen sample journal" page for that ink). I love flipping through my swatch journal, from time to time, and just soaking in the beautiful colors! While my main focus of the hobby is trying to deepen my journaling, playing with the wonderful colors that are available has to be my favorite part of it. I also liked your use of inspirational quotes, so I'm likely to steal that, too, as an adjunct for the new full page "baggie journal" swatch. This was my first "30 days" and it was you who inspired me to join in. Being a newbie, I kept it to myself. Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to film it. Or at least post photos on Instagram or something. BTW, I recently picked up the Tuzu in , because I had no nibs, and I love it. I just wanted it for my "swatch/pen sample" pages but it turns out I like just writing with it very much. For my 30 days, I swatched my unswatched samples, in no particular order... just how they stood in my sample rack... and used the same pen throughout - a Pilot Kakuno clear demonstrator. I dipped (dip 10 seconds, hold nib up for 10 seconds). That holds enough ink for a page+ of writing sample (done in my "thoughts journal"). Did a pangram and the following swatches in the "swatch/pangram pen sample" journal: cotton swab, end of a dropper swirl, and a small baggy swatch, all on the same page. The Kakuno was easy to flush to be ready for the next day. 😀

Dang Lisa! Oooh, I love EVERYTHING about this comment! Okay, I'm going in... -- the baggie swatch is my hands-down fave way to see the colour of an ink and like you, I like flipping thru the journal pages I did for 30inks just to revel in the gorgeousness of the colour these inks put down. -- thank you for those words about how you see the videos I produce. You are my kind of people, enjoyment for the sake of enjoyment, especially in a hobby that others might find weird or boring (some young person used that word to describe his non-interest in pens 😱) -- I'm glad you eased into 30inks with a personal journey of swatching. The learning is the same regardless. I hope you gained loads of insight into your next how and where you want to go in your pen hobby. Your process was way cool too! Also, never heard that technique using the Pilot Kakuno. Mmmmh..... -- the Tuzu is fasting becoming my most fave pen at the moment (sorry Leonardo MZG 😢 😆) -- lastly, love, love, love the names you have for your notebooks & journals 🤩 My journaler heart is indeed happy hearing that.

Hello Grace! This is a lovely way to be introduced to your channel! Your insights and your personality are a breath of fresh air. Loved seeing someone doing the 30 days/inks in a way that feels more "approachable" than some other channels I've watched. (of course, now I need to go watch the actual 30 days videos 😅) Some processes used can be more complex, in terms tools and experiments done in each day. It was also nice seeing someone working through this sort of project that is closer to my generation 😆 Thank you for all the hard work you put into this series.

Aww Kristi, thanks 🙌🏽! Glad to have you on board and watching. And thank goodness there are no generational barrier cause I'd prolly have to break those walls down 😉. I absolutely love creating the videos but it's really just an outward extension of the joy I get from this hobby. Btw, if there's something you'd like me to tackle in terms of pens and inks let me know. Now get to bingeing!!! 🤣 😆 🤣

There's an Etsy store that sells both a crab and a lobster brass pen holder and I'm thinking bout getting the lobster....but please don't tell Crab. Hi Grace, with how much effort you put into this month, I get that September is too soon 😅 I enjoyed the most that you pulled a piece of ink and pen randomly so you are as surprised as me. All the question you asked at the end „why doing it“ are similar to what I ask myself. Especially when I don’t want to use a pen I go deeper and try to figure out why.

Exactly. It's not a passive hobby with pens and inks. To make the writing experience more enjoyable we've gotta dive into those questions. As for pens I no longer use the reasons vary, but mostly cause I fell out of favour with it. Sometimes tho, it catches my eye again and gets back into rotation.

Ooh Aishah, I'm so glad! I think Diamine All The Best ink is an outlier. ink. It's so delectably delicious and rich a colour. I would love to get a bottle but know I don't need a 50ml bottle of it. Wish the Inkvent mini was still available 😢 but glad I have the sample vial that'll last a good bit for now.

Wow, wow, what a wonderful 30inks30days presentation. The work you had to do for it was amazing & then to have dental on top of it, a real trooper. Your ink journal with swatches, quotes & observations is a work of Art. Too bad you can’t hi-rez digitize it, the Fountain Pen Ink Association would be very happy about that. Can’t wait for September! And yes, Jinhao 100 is already in the inbox

Fire side snug is the ink…not the pen. I’ve had issues in three different pens so I did away with the ink as ‘pen ink’ and kept it as ‘dip-ink’ only.

Wow Renate! That's good to know. Thanks. I didn't want to think it could be the pen but the only time I used it was when I swatched it for Inkvent. Had not inked up a pen with it till 30inks. This was my 1st Invent Calendar I purchased. A few of them I could have done without but it's the nature of the beast getting that many inks at once. Still on the fence about ordering this year's calendar. tho..🤷🏽‍♀️
