As someone who played 2016-2018 I remember sooo many things in this video, and I'm also surprised at some things that I didn't know happened, like graveyard not having RNG spawn and log not damaging crown towers.

Some old facts that I rmb 1)goblin barrel used to cost 4 elixir and deals low damage to the tower upon hitting 2)zap and princess used to counter a goblin barrel completely 3)the log cannot push back giants when it was first introduced 4)freeze didn’t have damage, but upgrading it increase its duration 5)the hog mountain used to be the legendary arena and it is reached in 3000 trophies + you can get legend trophies for the amount of trophies u have over 3000

Clash 2016 was sooo good. I miss it terribly. Legendaries felt like, legendaries. Epics felt epic. No pass royale. And an epic was always guaranteed early game.

Funfact: Xbow shooting air troops would make it a worse win condition because it gives your opponent more troops to block the xbow with, yes I would have been a better defensive building, however it would almost never lock on if it could hit air.

ice spirit used to freeze for 2 seconds on release actually then got nerfed to 1.5 seconds and then to 1. zap also used to stun for a whole second

A few more: The PEKKA initially had a longer deploy time, just like the golem does now. It was removed. The goblin gang had 6 goblins-three melee, three spear-for 3 goddamn elixir. The log actually didn’t have knockback and is considered THE worst legendary. SC adding knockback instantly made it the best legendary spell ever. The electro wizard could be one-shotted by a same-level fireball at launch (like the ice wizard is now). Since even epic cards were so expensive in the earliest of CR, the PEKKA twin prince smash was seen as a deck of prestige and power. At launch, poison spell had a slowing effect, just like its COC counterpart, but is even better since it also affected buildings. This made poison-giant strats almost invincible. In the earliest of days, zap was a SINGLE-TARGET spell. The goblin barrel once costed 4 elixir, and dealt damage to its surroundings upon impact. This made it one of the worst spells in early CR. Speaking of which, goblins could once be killed with a same-level zap (the AOE spell which we know today, ofc). SC nerfed the damage of zap by 6% to create one of the most annoying metas of all time: knight-princess-gob barrel-rocket. From a player since 03/2016

Who else remembers these 1) Witch used to spawn 3 skeletons in a line in front of her instead of 4 around her 2) Witch used to not deal area damage after one wave of balance chances 3) Executioner used to deal 400 damage per 4 hits on enemies after one update

I hate how when anyone mentions how there used to be 3 fire spirits, they never mention that each fire spirit was way weaker, and that it was one of the least used and worst cards in the game. The rework saved the card and made it overpowered until it got nerfed to make it the normal card it is today

« Supercell decided to nerf the ice wizard for no reason » it was literally OP af when the game got released worldwide, but didn’t get nerf immediately because of how stupidly rare getting a legendary was, then when legendaries became slowly but surely more common, they nerfed it.

I mained sparky for years, people would never expect it and you can get an absolute death ball push with it as long as they didn’t have rocket or lightning

one thing you missed was that heal WAS super good at one point. it was used in 3m until it was nerfed into oblivion

Some other things I remember 1) Bowler used to knock back every troop, even Tanks. 2) Heal used to cost 4 elixir and it healed like crazy (it could heal 50% of Giants HP back). 3) Spear Goblins back in the day couldn't oneshot Skeleton, however they had much higher attack speed. 4) Witch didn't have AoE attacks back in the day

Idk if anyone remebers, but on the early days of clash royale, the prince had different sounds, when he charged the horse also screamed and when he hited something he would make a more high pitched sound in comparation of today.

Pretty sure they made the fire spirit 1 elixir to make it more similar to the other ones. Also, they increased it's damage and splash size, so it's pretty much the same as before

I loved the old fire spirits they were by far my favorite card. To all the bitter people in the comments, I did not say the fire spirit are any worse or better than the fire spirits. You simply cannot take a minion horde out with it anymore, it does more damage to towers and costs less elixer. The only improvement was in top ladder usage, and I simply said I liked the previous fire spirits and now nerds who need to hug their parents and touch some grass are having a "skill issue" debate about a single card, I mean tf is your life by that point lol, it's just a game and you clearly don't enjoy it😂

Despite not being able to see them, there are still chest stats for them for each areana with all the other chests. You can also still use them... but only once at the start of the game. I wonder why they still make wooden chests gradually better each areana if you can't get them past training camp. -sincerely Uel

The good old wooden chest... I got my first two or i guess first three legendarys out of them. It was my favourite chest. Also the Magical Cjest was my favourite, today i hate it.

I got my ice wizard from a wooden chest at spell valley in 2016. Then 2 months later LH from crown chest. I went from builders workshop (1800 at the time) all the way to legendary arena with Lavaloon/double wizard.

I always hated the magical chest because I was the only person in my group of friends who never got a legendary from one. Been playing consistently since 2016 and got my first legendary from a magical chest less than a month ago.

I remember getting an ice wizard (one of the 2 legendaries at the time) and I was so happy that I need to tell everyone about that. Now when I get a legendary, a lot of times I feel disappointed that I didn't get the legendary I want.

I remember quite a few of these facts like the royal recruit one and the fire spirit one. I have been playing since mid 2016 and have seen the game progress so much, honestly i liked the game more back in 2018. After they made all of the rearanging of lower arenas and rearanging of cards the game became much worse (I got league 2 before they made rascal's hideout, serinity peak ...), I still like the game but it isn't as much fun as it used to be.

My memories rewinded when I was watching this nostalgic vid: 1. i remember you could get free chest per (i forgot if it was 8 or 12 hours). I once got a magic archer from a free chest 3 days after the magic archer release challenge was over. Then all my classmates called me a stupid money spender 😂 2. I remember my friend used to pair heal spell with goblin barrel and miner or minion heal spell with miner when he was pushing in arena 10 😂 Really worked and it placed him into arena 11 3. The day when my friend pushed to 4000 cups (I was ~5.8k), supercell announced that there will be no draft chest anymore 😢😢
