I saw this in theaters, didn’t disappoint. My friend and I were cracking jokes and laughing our asses off at what ridiculous thing could happen next. This movie is quite something, and I love it. It’s not terrible (even tho it did terrible) it’s just a fun time.

At the end of the 1st movie you see a shark coming out of the Meg's mouth and that was the shark they have now. They're based off books I believe.

I don't think that shark was haiqi. it didn't look like a meg. but yeah, they were based on a book series. the meg in the first book was pregnant and gave birth just before the final confrontation. the book ended with them capturing the baby (who is called Angel in the books, and the second book she's full grown and in their marine institute, but escapes like in the film)

I know some might not like it but these movies aren’t to be taken seriously they are fun, and action packed and that’s exactly what they gave. I had a blast watching this I’m not gonna lie I was sad we didn’t see enough of the megs and the giant octopus BUT again this was meant to be fun which I found it was I loved it.👏🏾👏🏾 Edit: the only thing I didn’t like was they didn’t give us a back story to what happens to her mom like we get she died but what happened?

I think they left it vague just incase she decided to come back, they could say she was on a secret mission or something. OR, vague to use it as a plot point in a later film. I'm just glad they kept Angel from the books (Haiqi in the movie). she's one of my top kaiju, lol.

If you want your helicopter shot Andrew you guys should watch LAKE PLACID. They'll give you a good one. Iconic movie, hilarious dialogue, epic casting. Not to mention Betty White. Please one of you guys has to have not seen it, I can't find any reactors videos for Lake Placid.

Absolutely LOVED this movie. ever since the first film was announced I dreamed of them finally doing the sequels, because Angel was my favorite thing about the books. I don't mind they called her Haiqi in the film, i'm just glad she's there. and the rest of the film was just some awesome over the top fun.

BTW, Pippin was not just a reference to jaws, it also came from the book. in the first book Pippin was Jonas' ex-wife's dog, and faces the same situation. I'm so glad they changed the ex's character for the film. her book counter part was insufferable, and you were glad when she got eaten.

1:21 Just to clarify: the Megalodon and Tyrannosaurus Rex never met in real life, sharks were restricted to medium or small sizes due to the spot for apex predators of the oceans being occupied by the Mosasaurs(giant marine relatives of monitor lizards) and the Pliosaurs(long-snouted relatives of plesiosaurs). It wasn't until millions of years after the dinosaurs and marine reptiles went extinct that sharks, mammals, snakes, and birds were free to evolve to massive sizes such as the Meg, Titanoboa and Teratornis. Up until climate change reduced the habitable waters of the Megs and their spot in the ecosystem was eventually taken over by killer whales.

I must admit I prefer the first one more but still enjoyed this one well enough, though I have to be honest, the biggest drawback for me was that the T-Rex start did not seem particularly relevant to the rest of the movie (not like the start of the Extended Edition of Jurassic World Dominion which helped set up Rexy's rivalry with the Giganotosaurus so it had actual significance), the only thing I might see as a connection could be that the biggest Megalodon has a noticeable chunk of skin missing from the top left of its mouth, and when the T-Rex is being dragged away by its killer, its foot claws slash at this same spot on that shark, so is this meant to imply that the giant, apex-predator Megalodon of this movie is the same individual from prehistoric times? Is this Megalodon supposed to be over 65 million years old? Or am I just crazy?

to be fair, that scene was actually the opening scene of the first book (and was the cover of the re-release of the book done in the early 2000s). I believe they added it, not just to set up the smaller dino things, but also because fans of the book missed having it as the opening. i love the book series and am glad they added it back in for this movie. (and to, it was kind of a fun jab at jurassic park, esp since the book was published in 1997, the same year the lost world came out. in fact, it came out a month after TLW. hell, one of the publisher quotes on the inside cover of the book was "Jurassic Shark". lol)

I wasn't interested in either of these movies, but this has been so much fun to watch. Surprisingly, I actually like the second one more. But I feel like it's better after watching first, so they're a good package deal. Seeing DJ upgrade his skills was great.

I actually thought this one was generally better than the first one. However, it pissed me off that they killed off Suyin sometime between the events of the first film and this one. Why do that? If Li Bingbing couldn't be in this one, then why not keep her alive so she can return in a future sequel? That would've made more sense. Unless, Suyin faked her death for whatever reason, then that'd be a way to bring her back. The movie doesn't specify how she died, so that might be a clue. Also, as superficial as this might be, I had a problem with a couple of the explosions, specifically the both gas tank ones. I don't understand this trend in some action movies of cutting away at the start of an explosion or during mid-fireball. If you're gonna blow something up, then commit to it. Indulge it and savor it until it dissipates, even if it's CGI. Why can't they do that anymore? Other than these two things, the movie pretty good.

Obviously haven't watched the video yet, but I am SO SORRY you had to watch this 😭. As someone who absolutely LOVED the first one, this was just utter garbage. The Megs did literally nothing, so they could focus on the plot of rival Co operations. (If anyone hates on the locust subplot from Jurassic World Dominion again, they must remember this). This was also the first movie of 2023 that I didn't like. The other 13 i saw this year were enjoyable

If a Meg 3 does end up happening I theorize it’ll release around Halloween time and feature Zombie Megs that are even scarier than the ones killed in this one and the previous 2 from the 1st Meg movie and Haiqi will fight the smaller Zombie Meg from said Meg movie and be severely injured in said battle still defeat/re-kill it and eventually die from her injuries but also is revealed to be preggos and give birth to the meg pups and Meying in the next one will have briefly reunite with her mom and gramps in the Afterlife and decide it’s not her time to die yet
