Does he understand that by putting Infinity Stones in a drawer just for an office joke he just said BlackWidow dies for a paperweight? Or that making the TVA the absolute controllers of free-will, like in "The Adjustment Bureau", you are just basically saying that all choices our heroes made until now were not their own, but mere obedience to a plan? Sure the TVA will be the enemy and Loki will restore free will and unleash the multiverse, but this bad writing has irreversible effects on the past MCU that they sure did not consider... It was a nice episode, but its ramifications are waaay underestimated... :(

The infinity stones in a drawer gag isn’t meant to downplay the deaths of the characters or downplay the power of the stones, it’s meant to convey that the TVA works outside of the established MCU rules and that they’re so powerful that infinity stones are useless and basically paper weights to them. They’re still important and powerful in the MCU universe just not to them. As for controllers of free will, I’m not sure about that one. To me they come off more as a “God’s Plan” kinda organization. They might not have necessarily written everyone’s story (life) but they have one nonetheless and it’s their job to make sure their story plays out as it’s supposed to. Much like God in the Bible and Hydra in Winter Soldier “when history did not cooperate, history was changed”
