A release by Data Discs. This is the tenth release by Data Discs. This album came in three vinyl variations: a frosted clear & translucent yellow with white splatter, a translucent yellow, and black. Side A of the release features music from the 1988 arcade game Galaxy Force II, while Side B features music from the 1987 arcade game Thunder Blade
All copies come with one lithographic print, and as standard with Data Discs releases, an obi strip

My brain just can't process on how this was made in 1987. This composer had incredible talent and was ahead of his time!

Your statement implies that music has gotten better over time, as if music today is far more advanced than it was back in the day. Yeah.....This incredibly talented composer fit right in with the best composers and musicians mankind has ever seen. The 80s was near pinnacle of music making.

Like most video game music of the era, it was heavily influenced by previously existing music. Fusion artists mostly. It's really really good but it certainly wasn't original or ahead of its time in any way, especially considering this kind of music was being written by countless bands at least a decade prior.

@@gfunkmoney06 I'm guessing that what he meant is that he managed to write such amazing pieces (both composition and sounds) that stood out from simpler ones in the game industry while still working with the same limitations as the rest. The music indeed has been in a fall from grace since the start of the 90's.

That's what I kind of like about these designs, is that no design is the exact same. I've had some pretty lackluster splatters on some stuff and some great ones I quite like this release, never heard of either game in my life but am enjoying the soundtracks for each game

I always intended to get it but never did. When it was announced I think there was too much already that I wanted to preorder that I just passed up on it due to bad timing. Considering I own the game on Steam I don't know why I never did pick it up. Sorry! But thanks for the interest and I appreciate the kind words!

Do you get every vinyl coming out or does it need to have some sort of connection like owning the game or you just like the music and buy it? I mean because I am not that old to be confronted by the old games music DATA DISCS is selling so I skip them (except for shenmue

Gooood question. If one goes back to my first pickups, I got Hotline Miami 2, GTA V, Streets of Rage, and Shenmue. All those except Streets of Rage were games I had played and immensely enjoyed. When the whole craze was picking up I was trying to get my hands on anything, but _very_ shortly after I realized this was next to impossible to keep up with everything and afford it all, so it basically boils down now to if the release interests me There's tons of indie game releases that I skip over, but I tend to get every Data Discs release no matter what. Lately nothing but good releases have been coming out so my wallet has been pretty busy A lot of the time these releases are games I never played before, but you can enjoy the music without the game, too, and I enjoy researching the game afterwards if it interests me

Basically to sum that up, I like to try and get as much as I can regardless if I have a connection with the game. The limited nature of these releases make for a great collection

Thanks for the answer :) Sadly I am a student so my wallet is very very limited. I need to think about buying games or buying vinyls. I also buyed music without owning the game like Planet Coaster. Do you ever sold one of your vinyls? I did once because I needed some money and I didnt really liked the music (chrono trigger & chrono cross arrangement album). btw the Silent Hill Vinyl is coming out this spring i.imgur.com/keXX5dp.jpg I am pumped!

Used to be a student until I realized school wasn't what I wanted to be doing. Took a break from life for a couple of years and got a job and a car and all that. I'm fairly young (22) so right now I really don't have to worry about what I buy and don't buy. I'm likely moving out soon though, so when that happens is when I'll have to worry I have sold plenty of my regular records but no video game ones yet, and I probably won't. They all have too much of value to me so I can't bear to get rid of them Also THANK YOU for that, I've been waiting on Silent Hill news ever since they announced it and I genuinely am dying that I know it's coming soon now
