With this seasons finalists now confirmed, I thought it would be interesting to look back over the last 5 Champions League winning teams and rank them from weakest to strongest.

I know I am biased since I’m a Bayern fan, but that 19-20 squad was absolutely insane. For me it’s hard not to be proud of our boys after that season.

I think the only limiting factors for that team imo is that it was only 1 leg and the teams they played up until the final were quite poor. But they were an amazing team.

The Champions league run by Real Madrid 2022 to me is the most memorable and impressing run ever ! Beating the TEAM WITH THE MOST TALENT in PSG in the round of 16 Beating the FORMER CHAMPION Chelsea in the quarters Beating the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD Manchster City in the Semis Beating the MOST CONSISTENT HIGH PERFORMING TEAM the prior 5 Years Liverpool in the Final Real Madrid was the Underdog in every single Matchup and still managed to win everything in extraodinary Fashion

Real Madrid 2021/22 UCL campaign is by far the greatest title winning campaign ever for me , Bayern dominated opponents but Real Madrid did miracle after miracle. They were not favoured against PSG , Chelsea, Manchester city and liverpool yet they won all of them.

5. Guardiola truly screwed up in the Champions League final. Tuchel deserves credit for taking an out of sort Chelsea. 4. Arguably the greatest Champions League win for Madrid. The only time Madrid were the underdogs after numerous times they trail. 3. Liverpool overturned a possible defeat at Barcelona to the inevitable Champions League title win after losing the final a year prior 2. An incredible 3 peat and Ronaldo hitting his absolute peak. Bale scored 2 wonder goals in the Champions League final and securing the title despite their indifferent form in La Liga. 1. The strongest team in the past 5 years. Under Kovac, Bayern Munich were weak, however under Flick, Bayern Munich hit God Mode. They won every title like Barcelona did in 2009 and won every game to be Champions of Europe.

Chelsea's run is often ignored.They let in 4 goals across the whole competition 😂😂😂. Thats crazy.And they beat a team that had dominated Europe and England over 2 years (Kante deserved that ballon dor)

Now that City won I wonder where they would rank. They were just as dominant as 19/20 Bayern but idk if we'd consider the 1 leg fixtures as a positive or negative against Bayern.

18/19 Liverpool was better than 17/18 Real... one of the criteria is overall team quality and what Liverpool did outside UCL in the Premier League proved their overall quality that season. They got 97 points, Real only 76. Liverpool might have struggled in the group stage but their group was tougher than Real’s and Real finished 2nd too.

Liverpool have to be top2 and are possibly the best of the bunch.And the defeat in 2018 clearly didn’t leave a bruise and maybe made the team better we were winning almost every game in epl and were in the toughest group so it isn’t a shame to finish second in it and continue.Saying we weren’t convincing us just wrong

No chance Real Madrids win last year was extremely impressive but they were out played by PSG until the second half of the second leg where it took multiple PSG mistakes to let Madrid back in it. Against Chelsea they were getting battered at home 3-0 with Chelsea also getting a goal harshly ruled out. Against City they should’ve lost the tie by 3/4 goals but managed to cling on and overcome City. In the Final were second best to Liverpool the entire game and only really had one chance at goal and purely relied on their gk to save them. Very impressive victory but can’t deny how much luck was involved.
