What does it feel like to then discover you have Special Educational Needs? 🤯
What does it mean to have these needs and can success at school really be achieved???

Watch along as I break down my very own learning journey into 3 key chapters of my life and build a genuine picture of living with SEN.
What is it like as a young kid struggling both academically and socially without understanding why? 🫠
What does it take to succeed enough to earn a place at one of the most prestigious universities?
And once you’re at that university, how do you maintain the control and drive to stay focused despite all the distractions? 👀
On top of all this, as a mother how do you then use all of your experiences to provide the best possible pathways for your own children to succeed? 👩‍👦‍👦

因為我自己係去到大學先發現有inattentive adhd(專注力不足)同埋dyslexia(讀寫障礙)。

Thank you for your video! It certainly had given me comfort to certain extent…my daughter was diagnosed with ADHD after she came down with depression symptoms after her 1st year of college last year. Similar experiences as your case where freedom of freshman year lead to a total chaos academically and socially. In the hindsight, now I see why she seem to not able to keep friends all her life. She is 20 now…I feel bad that she seem lonely without a social network. I really hope that it will get better as you said. You are fortunate with a very supportive and wise mom. Hi Gladys, My daughter also has mild autism & 專注力不足. She used to study in 中半山traditional girls school ( you probably can guess which one); the teachers thought she was ‘very weird’ & send I should send her to ‘special schools’. I was very unhappy that my daughter was ‘labelled’ & she also found socialising very difficult & 講嘢同PONG年紀嘅小朋友爭好遠. So she had no friends all along. Making friends at secondary school (same school) got worst as the girls started gang up in groups, some will pretend to be good friends with her & said things behind her back… and the teachers at school are probably the worst I’ve ever come across. So in Easter of Form 4, my daughter thought she had enough & asked if she could go to UK to continue her studies. I of course said yes as I also studied secondary & Uni in UK. I think the different mode KF teaching, diff Env etc will help her to become happier, make new friends & finds school interesting for a change. And it really changed her life. She studied unusual subjects like Photography, Psychology for her A levels. She really made loads of local friends as we chose a school with practically no Chinese in Oxford. She really enjoys the past 2 years in UK & will continue Uni in UK after this summer. So if you’re in similar situation, 唔好放棄,there are many options out there , be supportive to your kids & 辦法總比困難多😃
