Yeah prices at the box are at late 1980's rates but with all the regulations and increased expenses it's hardly worth it, all for fun nowadays. Them big boars screaming through the wheat stubble make some serious noise and look awsome. Great vid as usual Stu

Hi stu Great vid and its always good to see knife work!! For the last 20 years ive hunted in germany for pigs, i done a before and after gutting on a big boar which weighed 95kg gutted, and 120kg with everyting in, so this will give you a rough ball park figure, 25kg of guts in a 95 kg range pig Rgds steve

Coming late to the table on the Legend 350 they were pushing them pretty hard here no one liked the ballistics 7.5 drop at 200yds and only just over 900 fps of energy major losses at short distance!!! Good to see you out and about nice bruiser in the bag, must be like our February there gotta wear a parka and stuff thermal heaters in your pocket to keep your fingers from falling off!!!

Yes they are mate but normally we aren't setup to take out the meat

you have to be aware of is there any 1080 poison being used in the area where your shooting and where there shot. and time of year and looking for signs of disease

Local Land Services done studies around the NSW/QLD border and a good percentage have Brucellosis so a lot of people don’t eat them around the area since hearing it. Personally I wouldn’t risk it myself

Hi Stu, in Germany we have a problem with a disease in pigs called Trichinosis. This is a small worm (Trichinella spiralis) that lives in the Pigmeat as a parasite. All Pigs that are shot and get 2 eaten by humans, must therefore be examined with a meat sample. There is that in down under too ? Greadings from Germany and keep up the good hunting.

Here in the states wild pig meat is not allowed for retail. We have to make sure they’re cooked over 170 F to kill the parasite.

Yes it is a good close in cartridge. No more than 100m works great.

The gear doesn’t make the Hunter. I love the fact that you use bolt action rifles or “basic” gear as per American standard but you do great work of it. Good shooting Stu.

Good boar mate, diamond in the rough that one what weight did he dress out at?. Tough as 10 tough boars that one lol. Though daves right, lola would look good chasing him or the boars dad maybe lol. But just a random question, why the 350 legend and are you happy thus far, your 3006 appears to drop them better unless head shot of course. Im a 270 man myself got 2 of those, though i also own an 3006 & 308.

Thanks mate yes dad is also a 270 man. I still use the 30/06 as my go to pig rifle. The 350 was donated to me by Terry hills Gun Shop as I didn't have a picatinny rail to put the HIKMICRO Thermal on.

mine is a 3 to 9 x 40. The 50 allows more light in and is better for late afternoon or early morning hunting

Ruger 350 on them Winchester 243 80 grain's.... It doesn't get any sweeter than that. Making mince meat of them Hog Heads. Bloody Oath! That Boar was most likely cock of the walk in them parts. Few less piglets for them farmers to worry about for a few months hopefully. His scent will still be active for a bit anyways..... Great vid stu! Good on ye mate.

Yes you can mate no probs with the 243. Just make sure that if you shoot a mud crusted boar that has dried mud the 223 won't penetrate the dry clay mud.

Stui...good job. There was a period where rabbits was causing too much damage that they had to thin out the numbers otherwise farmers are crying in financial pain. By the way matey, I once had a wild boar in the jungle of Laos and the there was practically no fat on the beast but its really ugly and angry. It looks like its been crying weights all its life looking animal with tusks and biceps all protruding.
