I think it's kind of a sidegrade to a Gentle Typhoon. Unfortunately this one has a worse silent commutation driver, you can hear it at low speeds, but its not too bad. The blade design of the B12 is mostly copied from Gentle Typhoon, so the performance will be similar. The advantage of this particular fan over the GT is the fluid bearing, which is quieter than the ball bearing. Also, you might prefer the looks of this fan. Finally, this fan does come with some extra accessories, like a Y-splitter.

Is this the same fan as the one that comes with their cooler U120ex rev 4 white? The black version has daul ball bearing fans while the white version has s-fdb fans. Still their name is B12-exterm considering their rpm range is limited to 2150rpm while normal b12-exterm's rpm range is higher.

Thanks to this vid I ordered one of this (in black) and will pair it with a deepcool ak400 heatsink. I just really like the aesthetic of this fan with the exposed golden bolt in the middle. (I was initially waiting for the noctua nfa12x25 chromax but when I saw they changed the design to not show the bolt, and it's expensive af, could basically buy two of these tl-b12 for the price of one nfa12x25 chromax, smh)

from the very limited data i could find, this fan seems great considering price to performance i managed to buy it today for $8.90 per fan on amazon (there was also a 8% off for buying 2+, so I ended up buying 6 for $50) if they sold these in packs, they would probably do really well, too bad thermalright doesn't seem to market their fans that well

@@zenif7976 hey! i used them in a o11 air mini build that i flipped, but they ran well, can't do much better than them in the price range better or similar fans would probably cost 50% more (like $12 or $25 fans) such as the wondersnail

@ydihtty

Honestly it depends on your preferences. The GT has ball bearing noise, and doesn't come with many accessories. Meanwhile, the TL-B12 comes with a few accessories, and IMO looks nicer, but it does have the quiet buzzing sound which is maybe faintly audible at low speeds. The blade design is basically the same, so I expect airflow performance to be very similar.

I'm actually trying to find these 2 fans in Europe, at reasonable prices... I know in Poland the vento pro goes for dirty cheap, but can't find an eShop that ships to Italy.

My friend offered me two fans for this model at less than $20, when I looked at original price, it was $25 per fan. Glad the condition is still very good.

:O I want this fan so much in my white build!!! I mean it looks brilliant! what better: this or Noctua? :S once i finaly buy high tear case fan! :D now i buy only Noiceblocker and i dont like it! he cant block his noice at all! :) but his airflow is huge! but i need absolute zero noice fan on low PRMs and Noiceblocker cant do it! this Thermalright fan have parasitic sounds on low RPM, right???

I agree, the fan does look very nice. In terms of acoustics, Noctuas will be better generally. It does make a buzzing sound, which you can hear at low RPM. You can hear it in this video if you turn your speakers/headphones up.

Yeah I heard the ticking. Almost sounded like a cat purring heh. This white appears a little off, almost beige. Did you know Arctic released their white P12 fans? Might be another to test out 😏 Also, does the device that sends “loudness” levels also have a dB feature? Just wondering as that’s probably going to be more translatable for people, & it also allows us to see how honest the manufacturers are being with their advertised dB specs 🕵️‍♂️…Gamers Nexus have gone to a whole new level in this regard with a US$60k machine that measures fan air throughput….Always good to hold manufacturers to account!

Yeah the ticking on this fan isn't too bad, but it is there. The fan is a neutral white, I use a pretty warm white bulb (2700K) for lighting in most of my videos. It would probably be better to combine it with my daylight bulb I use for normal room lighting. I wouldn't expect the white P12 to sound any different from the black. I tried to figure out how to convert it to dB, but haven't found a way to do it yet. I could put it through a log function and try to calibrate it though, I need to do some more experimentation with this. The GN flow tester will be interesting, but for me, its only half the story - the psychoacoustic (not just dB levels) part is probably more important to a lot of people, which I aim to help with in my videos. If a fan has good performance and low dB levels, it might seem good in some reviews, but maybe it makes a really annoying sound that isn't reflected by the dB level. That's the kind of thing that would make or break a fan purchasing decision, in my opinion. Hopefully GN can cover this aspect too.

@@ydihtty Yeah I love my daylight LED bulbs - they keep a neutral ambience that allow the natural colours of items, walls, paint (my ones in the garage make my white car paint pop). It’s hard to reflect how these things will sound once they’re in people’s various cases/under desks etc. but at least you’re trying to provide a starting point or reference. I just think dB is the ‘dialect’ of consumers here 🙂 Keep up the good work.
