Thermaltake have pretty much nailed the budget friendly 360mm AIO here with Thermaltake Tough Liquid 360 ARGB SYNC, it has great cooling potential, "almost" 100% CPU compatibility including AM4 AM5 LGA 115x LGA1200 and LGA1700 sockets, any really only excludes TRX and Threadripper socket out.
ARGB is understated and minimal, and also very flexible allowing the use of either your own 3 pin 5V addressible RGB header OR the built in controller that is already included in the pump head, which also rotates to give the perfect look regardless of installation angles.
Don't forget this is also extremely quiet in operation and for me that is an important part of the deal, recording videos with fans and motors ramping up is not fun! And this has surprised me at the power it can cool at a very low noise level thanks to the 3 toughfan 12 fans and the low noise pump

Thanks, Mike. I like Thermaltake's ToughLiquid AIOs, and I especially like the fans they use. They're very well designed (similar to Noctua's, in fact). I don't care much for that TT logo though, so I'd probably pay extra for the Ultra's fancy LCD pump head display. The LT720 is another really fine AIO in my view (I've actually seen it beat the Arctic LF II), and consider both as being very good performers. 👍

Those fans are ok but not the deal Arctic Freezer ones are for their price. The Noctua propraganda casts a wide net.

@@mikesunboxing I agree that Noctua's products aren't cheap, but sometimes you actually do get what you pay for. My point was that the performance of Thermaltake's fans is on par with Noctua's fans (which are excellent - price notwithstanding), whereas most other AIOs have less efficient fans (and therefore fall short, performance-wise). 🤔

@@MikeBob2023 my case in point about Noctua fans: my son replaced 3 "stripper heel" , no name (perhaps made by Kingwin-no idea really) 120mm case fans with 3 Noctuas. The difference in his case temp? 1C. They are overpriced for what you get along with the Thermalktake Toughfans IMO.

Hi, Mike. Those fans do look nice, and the AIO pump head is better looking that most. It's a shame AIOs don't use thicker copper radiators. That's one thing that keeps them from being as effective as an open loop system. That said, this Thermaltake AIO appears to be worth its price. 👍 I can't wait to see the new Thermaltake case you've been teasing us about.

Cryorig and Arctic are 2 brands that have thicker (38") rads. A GOOGLE search also finds: Alphacool Core Ocean, Phanteks Glacier One, Corsair Hydro (yes, we know you hate Corsair) have the thicker rads. May be even more, over the standard 27mm.

Running the threat of being lambasted by Oletta here but thats one good looing AIO. Yeah yeah yeah I know you can keep all that RGB nonsense etc but as an AIO all you need it to do is cool efficiently and it looks like this one does......and quietly too ! Thanks for the video, Mike and Kath.

Although I liked the LT720 design 2bh this allows easy rotation to maintain looks irrespective of mounting. For high work loads as you do I assume the quieter fans make an impact. As for the temps and minimal changes in Cinebench as long as longevity isnt affected and gaming / work output is maintained then its surely down to ease of fitment, maintenance and price! there are some slight drawbacks of this unit like the slightly odd AMD bracket (totally solved in AM5) and the lack of RGB on the fans but there is something about the silence and construction that just does it for me

Have 240 version, in my opinion pump is litlle loud. Fans are perfect really, but pump need some redesign. Also these 6 LED can be brighter, and diffuser might be better. On 12600k 30 idle, full load about 70. Overall good, but they must improve it.

yeah the pump is okay i thing the plastic of the ARGB shroud causes some reverb, try holding the plastic and the noise profile changes a lot

it is designed to be maintenance free, so it should never need it. check the pump rpms and listen for a gurgling sound which might point to evaporation of the coolant

I have MSI 360R CPU water cooler. it is really bad quality. - Good cooling performance or efficiency, but The pump stop working after 2 or 3 weeks of idle computer (if you don't turn it on) You need to clean it every 3 months or maximum 6 months I will replace it by thermaltake

So is this compatible with LG1700 or not? The box does not actually list this (shown at 4:20) and i saw reviews of the product saying no bracket for LG1700 was included.

Hey Mike! Great review! But I do have one question. I have a Lian Li Dan A4 H2O and I was wanting to get the 240mm version of this aio. I was wondering what’s the pump height of this aio as the Dan A4 H2O Maximum pump height is 55mm and I wanted to be sure that this pump would be under that limit. I’ve looked everywhere for this information but it’s only for the ultra version of this cooler and not the argb. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated 👍

the pump head in total from the bottom of the copper to the top of the rgb twisty thing is 64mm from my measurements, hope this helps

Hi Mike, thanks for a great video. In case if you have Core P3 TG Pro - could you confirm if the chassis would have enough space to accomodate for a larger 420mm version of the same AIO (Thermaltake ToughLiquid 4200). I'm getting some contraversial feedback on this.

I bought the 280mm version, but I deem that soft humming sound coming from the pump to be a little annoying, especially considering an AIO pump is supposed to run at 100% all the time. Anyone else experiencing the same issue with this specific AIO model or is it just me who needs to get used to the standard sound of a pump? This is my first experience with an AIO cooler ever....

if you squeeze the plastic surround on the rgb does it stop? could be resonance, some rubber or foam just behind the motherboard should fix that

I install Thermaltake 420 on Ryzen 5800x start up temp for the first day was 45C now its running 58C did I do something wrong?

Try closing the thermaltake software there is a bug in the software that adds a bit of a cpu overhead, it is doesn’t drop quickly after closing might need to readjust the pump mounting

@@mikesunboxing I was actually using Armoury Crate. I did mount the cpu pump with hoses on the right side so the TT is upside down. Needed the extra hose length. It was very tight the other way. It's not getting above 60C even when gaming.

in normal use it will be under that, all core loads like cinebench depending on the ambient room temps could be more, with a 5600x i would be undervolting it a bit anyway
