Great work. What is that foam you use in the sandwich method? Thanks

As a novice, what is the advantage of using this stuff with the eva foam? I guess it provides the rigidity to set the foam in an unchanging shape?

I want to make a rain cover for a firepit (to use after it is no longer hot). One is slightly over 62 inches round and one is slightly over 62 inches square. Is there a way to do this and if so, what product do i need?

After you make an object with worbla if it is exposed to heat , hot water, sitting in the sun will it warp out of shape??

Quick question, can't you just paint the foam dus making the wonderflex kida pointless ? ^^
@AdonisCosplay
@AdonisCosplay 7 жыл бұрын
Yes you can paint foam, but the thermoplastic gives the props structure and hardness that foam by itself doesn't provide. It also changes the texture of the surface you're working with and since it can fuze together, you can pretty much get rid of seams between sections entirely.

But wouldn't spackle do the same thing ? ^^
@AdonisCosplay
@AdonisCosplay 7 жыл бұрын
mmm maybe? but spackle doesn't have much flex to it, where the wonderflex and worbla and give under some pressure and wont crack. There are plenty of reasons back and forth why it is or isn't necessary, in the end, no, it's not necessary to use it, but it can definitely be a good tool. You could make an entire prop strictly from foam, use spackle as a coating, and it could work amazingly. Or you could use thermoplastic. It's just personal preference at that point I guess.

@AdonisCosplay

if you print first then form it, the print will likely stretch out with the plastic

Hi I’m crocheting bags and it calls for thermoset to use with an iron to apply fabric for the lining is this the same stuff and if so can you wash it or where can I buy it because the video is in Italian with English subtitles Thank You
@AdonisCosplay

I've never heard of thermoset so I'm not sure. These materials I discuss in the video cool off to be a hard plastic. I imagine you COULD wash it, but it may distort. I honestly don't know. Sorry!

It's like any other plastic right? So making it for cosplay or something with it touching skin and such is fine?

I know this video's kinda old, but what kind of thermoplastic should I use for a mask that covers the whole face? Also will I be able to use paint on this material?
@AdonisCosplay
@AdonisCosplay 5 жыл бұрын
It really depends. Worbla has become my favorite. specifically black worbla. and you can paint right on it if you'd like or you can seal it and paint on that if you want a smoother finish

Is a hair dryer not hot enough to heat thermoplastic?
@AdonisCosplay
@AdonisCosplay Жыл бұрын
usually no, heat guns get drastically hotter than hair dryers and take much less time to get plastics to the temperature you need.
