I thought running south east only pays better, but not as much miles but good enough to stay alive. That guy Just Truckin,,guy Jayson does well be he's a total O/O driver. I always felt lease truck drivers get screwed too much. Big overhead for just a truck rental if you think about it

Great to see your new venture continuing and I guess we'll get some different videos as you'll be driving to lots of random places. If the lease company charges 13 cents a mile, roughly how much does fuel cost per mile (on average of course)?

Hi Rusty remember the one rule to success in the trucking industry. Drive slower if you have the time on the log to get there in time. Saving fuel is the name of success. I run 60 on the cruse always retired before my 60 birthday 37 years of trucking 30 as owner operator. Good Luck and keep the rubber on the pavement
@moneyprofessional
@moneyprofessional 2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same! If Rusty didnt need to get there until Monday morning, I'd have driven there REALLY slowly to save fuel. Boring if you're used to driving at 70 but free money in your pocket!

Hey Rusty a little word of advice I know you have a couple of years under your belt but make sure you check to see how much your picking up before you top off your tanks because if you're heavy on the nose 2 full fuel tanks are going to put you over on your drives.

As always really good videos. I think you should upload more often. :) Also, do you take a request? That moving the rear axles, you showed how to release them but then went on with other things. COuld you may show the full extent of it with how it operates and how it affects weight distribution sometime? I mentioned it to my friends but cant find the video where you actually did the whole process. Ive never seen it before you showed it. We dont have that here so it would be nice to be able to share a video and show others. Its a excellent feature. Thanks for a good vid. :) /Tony

Would be nice to see a monthly budget... How much it costs for Lease and usage, wear and tear, gas etc... for one month divided by number of paid miles for the month... to know if your cost is $1.75 per mile or $2.80 or whatever... then knowing how much an individual load paid would have more meaning.

I’m starting to enjoy following you. I’m looking at retiring from an education career and always wanted to experience truck driving: two kids in college: not sure if age is a problem. You mentioned that 100,000 miles a year is pretty good. Would that only be about $40k to $50k a year driving for a company? Also, when you have ‘layovers’ I know you can drive to stores, etc. with the cab. How would you explore outdoor areas like hiking, going to parks, etc. ?
