Arsenal and Manchester United are currently worlds apart. While Manchester United are languishing in the 8th position, Arsenal are going into the last match of the season with the hope that they can win a first league title since 2004. This wasn't always the case as Manchester United have been the better outfit for most of the Premier League seasons.
What happened? And how can Manchester United rediscover their past glory?

Sackin' Ten Hag will be a very huge mistake. He had structure back in Ajax and he was highflyin'. He was not only beatin' dutch teams. Bayern did not beat his team. He eliminated and humiliated Madrid 4-1 in Madrid. After Madrid he eliminated Juventus that had still hot Ronaldo. If you doubt Ten Hag, that is your choice. How can you expect a manager/coach operate in a broken team and structure and expect him to deliver success. United took him out of a well-placed structure and dumped him in an overhaulin' mess. A deterioratin' and depleted squad, no squad depth, victimized by the media, victimized by the officials, playin' without a left back all season, 60+ injuries, 30+ combination of defence in one season, defiant and petulant players. And you expect a coach/manager to give you success amidst all this mess? A portion of United so-called fans/supporters are livin' in a fantasy world indeed.

No sir he was given absolute power and to veto transfers he would have used this opportunity to do his best and manage under a structure he might fall out with that high profile structure there's a distinct difference between ajax and Manchester united here expectations are high and so far the job is proving to be too big for him he can't even say the truth

He is not good with transfers that doesn't mean he is a bad coach and he needs to be fired. Consider the injuries. All of you need to remember the pre season game our IP play was good, and the gap in midfield would have been solved earlier if our backline were available, our backline was slow that is why they retreated earlier when the press breaks and it's not EtH that said them to do that he but he gave them freedom to drop off or hold the high line it show our back line isn't confident in holding and I will blame that on Varane as soon as he is out and Maguire came we maintained the high line more.@@user-eu8oq6pl9j

You are spot on. Only those with emotions will want us to sack ETH. My only concern was his high risk approach sometimes in game management. There are some games we shouldn't have lost but for his bullish approach resulting to unfavorable results. Sometimes he knows we have these injuries crisis with the defense, we should have had more midfielders on the field to protect the back four and make some games more tighter and difficult for opponents. Sometimes we make it too easy for the opponents by playing some high risk football that makes us very vulnerable. ETH obviously suffered from many injuries that depleted the team, yet I think we could have adjusted accordingly by reducing the Ferrari football he was trying to implement. He never had a team to implement those ideas just yet.

It also means having a play style and bringing players for a project not to suit a manager's style. It is why we have a mish mash of players who don't complement each other. Biggest question is, do INEOS rate ten Haag that highly like some fans do?

I am sticking with ETH, not for his achievements, his tactical ideas, potential turnaround in future, and absolutely not for proving myself right, but for principle and principle alone. Up until the end of this season, I can stomach collapse, high amount of shots faced, humiliating losses and ridicules by opposition fans, but I can not stomach the club sacking yet another manager for the 5th time after Sir Alex because the players would not or could not carry out the instructions they are told. He lost the dressing room? Get him the dressing room that he needs! This is not going to be a smooth ride getting rid of the rot that the glazers have brought to us. This path of revival, hopefully with the new leadership who has shown great understanding of where the problems lie, won't be covered with instant glories. It takes patience. Let's start with putting some faith on a manager regardless of performance on the pitch.

Onana, Martinez, Antony, Mount, Hojlund, Malacia, Casemiro, Amrabat, Evans is not most. That’s 8 of what should be a 25-26 man squad - 30%. 3 of them have been injured most of this season. Amrabat and Evans are plasters. Amrabat has been injured a lot. 3 of the best players are basically youth - Mainoo, Garnacho, Kambwala. Garnacho is already playing nearly every game…which shouldn’t be happening. His best player, Bruno, is doing too much, playing too many games and covering for too many player shortcomings. We do not have a decent CM/B2B and Mount has been too injured to be in form. We have nobody to carry or playmake the ball. It’s not a coincidence Man U play a bit better cos they lucked out with Mainoo, but he’s just a kid. Fred wasn’t perfect but he filled that role to some extent. Erickson last 30 mins and is gassed. Ball retention is impossible without a strong pair of hands in the mid like Scholes. McTominay I maintain is a shadow striker. Evans does an ok job as a ball playing defender, but he’s not a modern defender and he is slow. He dilly dallys on the ball. Maguire does his best, but he’s not able to play high line high press football. Never mind that the entire back line has been plagued with injuries. Left back also, which pointedly also is the side where Rashford has been having issues too. Left side is basically handicapped. God knows what happened to Rashford and we overpaid for Antony. Garnacho doing well but he’s still developing. Amad…well let’s see. Casemiro, since he got that first red card, he hasn’t been the same. And he’s fallen off since that injury. He is too old to hold the middle alone and now he’s lost form. The only bjt we have going for us is right back. Dalot has been a delight. Onana, well we are not playing to his strengths so might as well have stuck with de gea who was Tbf entirely too expensive. Don’t get me started about Sancho and Greenwood - waste and definitely need to leave.

You are hitting each points critical for team building... players playing the right position, establishing stable partnerships and keeping the manager without panicking everytime we lost will eventually bring stability and team cohesiveness. Build team depth without relying on very high profile signings. The most important thing is patience for all and not make transfer moves that will kill off the process. Throughout this process, we will see really bad results and heartbreaks... but we need to push on in order to establish the right foundation and subsequently look forward with building continuity 👍🏼

My friend, I wish to add that the Press is doing everything possible to get Ten Hag sacked. Even the best Manager in World Football will struggle with that current United squad and behind the scenes officials and structure. Yet, many United fans want him gone. If he's sacked the Club will need to pay him around £21 Million. Instead, it's best for the Club to clear out players not good enough and those who are past their prime. The funds generated from sales can then be used to make smart signings. I like what Jim Radcliffe and INEOS are silently putting in place behind the scenes....Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth (yet to be confirmed). Even, the clear out has started.... Varane is leaving (confirmed by the Club), Martial (it's an open secret that he's leaving), and many others will follow. I support the suggestion that Ten Hag should remain as United's Manager. If Arteta was given a chance to improve on the job with a better structure behind him then why not Ten Hag ? Well-done my friend. This video is very useless and really needed at this time. I hope United fans can reason with your point of view.🙂

The team should be allowed to develop together and develop consistency. This cannot be done by chopping and changing managers every now and then. EtH should be given time and those players that don't play with passion for the club should be dismissed. Meanwhile about Bruno Fernandes, he should be one of the core players the team should be built around as evident in the Portuguese national team where he's performing better and better every game with good players around him. I wonder what make people doubt his leadership because there are different types of leadership and his is through consistency (availability+performance+grit). He should be cut some slack because he's more committed than most, if not all the Man United players.

I agree with most of the things you have said so far in your videos, except that we need Bruno. Yesterday without him, we played with a fluidly against a red hot arsenal that we have rarely seen this season. And i thought our best game this season was in the carling cup against crystal palace, that did not feature him too. That's because he rarely missed any games. Anyway, back to yesterday's game - sure we did not have many chances, but that is to be expected against arsenal. His game is all about forcing speculative passes that only pulls off maybe one out of five times.. That unfortunately means that he gives the ball away too often and result in us having little control in midfield. Top teams rarely lose possession like the way he does. With the way he plays, his chance creation stats would naturally be high, but at the expense of us losing control of midfield against teams as weak as coventry, burnley and even luton town. He thrived in his first few seasons because his style was perfect ole's sit and counter tactics. In an ETH team that tries to play, his style is everything against that. More suitable players in similar position for our setup would be like Maddison, Modric, Odegaard, Vitinha, Silva (both).. His leadership is also super questionable, with his frequent moaning and throwing of both hands in the air. The best leaders control their emotions and have positive body language to inspire others. Some will argue that he is just overly passionate. I believe most would follow a calm leader over a passionate one.

I agree with most of things you said: We need a modern structure at the club with proper director of football, etc. ETH did really well in his first season but the fall off this season is staggering. ETH's tactics this season have been really poor and wierd. Granted we have injuries, but we have been played off the park by most teams, including the recent 4-0 demolition by Palace. He is also really poor at man management, player transfer, and injury management to mention a few. I think the management need to chat with all the senior/important player to see how they feel about ETH. I personally think ETH has lost the dressing room and many have already mentally checked out.

At present we're only at least a couple of years behind the top 3 but we should be only 1 year or equal by now but due to EtH over spending & not bringing in the necessary players to give us the depth to deal with a 65 game season. This is what Ronaldo wanted the club to have a chance to succeed but EtH is the reason why we've lost so many games at the half way point cos he was hanging his players out to dry & he's at fault for 8 out of the 14 losses due to poor summer transfers where we want 6 players & only got 3, poor decisions making, poor preparations, poor assessment, poor team selection, poor squad usages & poor In-game management so his Job is definitely under review due to his underperformance as Manager of our Club. Conclusion We recruit EtH to come to our Club as an Approved Coach cos he definitely isn't a Manager in our books so he deserves the Sack so It's best for EtH & his team to pack their bags & go back to Ajax to reinvent himself & bring back Ole & his new management team (Ole & his 3 wise men)! SAF way & Ole way is the Man Utd way. Only the 5min fans (anyone under 30) & FlipFlop fans wouldn't want him! Keep it in the family. Pass it on!

Nice analysis as it focussed on objectivity rather than going by emotions. It is also shows how the club has been run for last decade after SAF retirement and also after Glazer takeover. Any good business people would have put a structure after takeover so choosing the next Manager is not done by previous manager. Though good to see SJR having a structure but am skeptical since he has failed at OGC Nice. SJR also speaks nonsense regarding British Core, spending cuts, etc. Conversly, if things don't improve in 18 months there is very chance there will be a offer for complete takeover and this time Glazers would accept it and leave.

If ETH go to Madrid or Bayern... In two seasons he will reach semi Final or final of UCL and a league. Because the team already has a good structure and plans to follow. INEOS are planning to turn him to head coach, like he won't be in charge of transfer. Just list the types of players profile you want, the board will work to get names and they will choose... They will be the one to set rules for the players. Its very simple, I just wish them good luck

So many clubs are going to be starting from scratch again with new managers. The squad is half Ten Hags and he has 2 seasons of knowledge on the current squad. If we make the right decisions and support him we could surprise many people next season. It would be a huge mistake to get rid of him when we know what he’s capable of doing as a manager and you’d have to seriously question the INEOS ownership if they get rid of him.

@The Scarlett Report, Correct ETH did say he needed help. At a club the size of Man United, a manager must have a team behind him from top to bottom where if he says he needs a player with this specific trait, it's on the men (and women) who get paid for this to go and find these players. It's up to scouting to do the due diligence and then remove the options that don't fit the dressing room going forward. Look at Real Madrid, fire the manager and that dressing room understands, come whoever, we need to win everything! Especially Champions League

Eric was hired by Murtough and Richard Arnold. Part of his demand was to get full control over the transfers. Both Murtough and Arnold weren't the best in class. Looking back do you think Berrada and Ashworth who have been part of successful rebuilds would give that much power to a coach?

Would by nice if football was played on an Excel spread sheet and you could just copy and paste Arsenal's plans but football is still played in the real world. But what you're forgetting is: 1. ETH has a huge part to play in those injuries for not rotating during a mid season world cup 2. Chelsea and Newcastle had more injuries than us in a record breaking season for Prem injuries and they are still above us 3. You could already see the blueprint of what Arteta was building years ago whereas we don't see clear patterns of play and leave gaping holes on the pitch. 4. This manager is too blunt and too temperamental with these players. Threw Sancho under the bus and then excessively punished him for defending himself. Fell out with one of his favourites in Garnacho. Said he didn't play Varane against City for "tactical reasons" even though he's arguably our best CB. Humiliated a player as decorated as Casie by implying he can't play football 5. He has communication issues and players don't understand his instructions 6. Players have complained that he sets them video analysis work to do and completely changes the plan to what they were preparing for during the week 7. Why should INEOS trust ETH? He's not even their guy like the way Arteta was Edu's pick at Arsenal 8. He blew £400M and flooded the squad with more duds 9. Over half the league plays better football than us 10. This guy gaslights the shit out of this fanbase in every single press conference talking about "at least we play exciting football for the neutral." By exciting do you mean getting pammed 3-0 at home to Bournemouth and facing 16 shots against relegated Luton Town? Absolute nonsense and waffle. What you're saying about being patient and having a process is correct but where it falls down is that ETH doesn't have the temperament to do all of that. He's like Mou, Tuchel or Conte in terms of temperament. If you want a patient manager you can rebuild a club with, it's the likes of Potter that you need.

Looking at EtH spending over £400M to get certain players & not getting them all when the owners released the necessary cash for him to get them in 18 months + the way he treated certain players e.g. Ronaldo, Pogba, VDB etc... + we experienced the worst season we've had for 60 years by experiencing our worst loss, a 0 - 7 loss to Liverpool & helping Man City achieve the Treble to us this guy came to town to Literally take the piss on every level! We leave you with this.... Officially knocked out of the champions league over 4 months ago is a sackable offences so EtH knows his chances of staying already! EtH has been hanging his players out to dry & he's at fault for 8 out of the 14 losses due poor summer transfers & lack of depth for the season. EtH has been the worst Manager at Man Utd for 60 years, we've experienced since SMB. This manager is purposely going out of his way to mess up everything that we stand for so he definitely doesn't deserve to Stay, Win, Draw or Lose on Saturday or Sunday. Get Rid ASAP! Keep it in the family!

Ten Hag had been found out. His teams could afford to concede chance after chance in the Eredivisie because the opponents were crap, in the Premier League, if you face that many shots on goal, you're going to get battered.

I will always continue to emphasize that for a decade the owners tried to cut the corners, they tried to get the output of a football knowing structure from a single manager that they can easily replace whenever there was pressure. Installing football knowing people would've meant that Woodward would lose the power he had over the funds of the club, look how INEOS is bringing in real employees in the director roles and cutting down on cash cow things Woodward did, ten Hag will always be one of the good managers available in the market. The question is, will INEOS and ten Hag come to an understanding and give each other time to fix the functioning of the club? I think they can, ten Hag is a coach who builds teams, especially from academy, and bringing Wilcox as a football person highlights that INEOS eants to prioritise academy and player management infrastructure like health department, loans, player development etc over purchases. They are confident that Berrada with Ashworth will be capable of dealing the transfer window by installing right personnel to develop vetter negotiations, and let Wilcox handle the core method if improving squad, i.e. through academy.

The people who hired EtH are all out of the club. Why? Because INEOS knew they weren't the best people to take the club forward. INEOS can and will probably fire Eric, because he's not their pick. Also, factor in that EtH has massive control at the club. INEOS want a first team coach who will only focus on coaching the team alone. Biggest question is do you guys think EtH will be open to reliquinshing the power?

The kinds of people who want ETH out, for the most part, are immune to these arguments because they are game by game reactors, often like cranky infants who have a toy they get bored with. It is possible to argue against ETH on sensible grounds, but I think it is not easy and I find the arguments unpersuasive.

The difference between Ten Hag’s side now and Arteta’s Arsenal that finished 8th is the underlying numbers. It is easier and it makes more sense to trust a process when you see that the team is doing a lot of basic things right, I remember watching a video that explained it, Arsenal were possessing the ball better, creating chances better, and set themselves up better, of course there were cracks but the style of play in general was getting better and when the underlying numbers are positive, it is only a matter of time before it reflects in the results, which Arsenal are benefiting from now. My biggest problem with Ten Hag is that the performance is just not there, the style of play is not encouraging at all, and it is reflected in the numbers, our underlying numbers are poor, and that is the most worrying factor for me, to be honest with you, I’m just numb, because a side of me agrees that the process needs to be trusted but with the way Ten Hag has set this team up this season, he deserves to be sacked, but I don’t know. I hope you respond

100% facts here, i'm also in the same logic as you except that i'm probably more willing to give ETH another year just so that the new board can have a full season of transition in charge to assess their options, that's probably the most sensible scenario in my opinion

@@PabloM254 yes that’s true Even Arsenal sack Emery before taking arteta to work with their vision, when you fixed all positions then all you need to do is tell the coach what you wants your dream teams to play and if he can’t play that way you sack him and take someone that can play what you need as a football club

Keep ETH he must be given time, we already have a new management so fingers crossed. Sell overdue players & cash in the poor performer players. Get players we can polish, grind & bleed for united. Slowly introduce our home grown academy players. The stadium needs an upgrade. & I hope ETH will not be so stubborn to change tactics/formation if needed. Play for the TEAM and not individual glory. Please just cross the ball and create a chance for your teammates , you can't do one trick phoney your way thru! Please play the players in their natural position. Upgrade the medical team please it is a joke! WE NEED TIME TO PROGRESS SLOWLY BUT SURELY!!PATIENCE!! GGMU!

Its easy to make excuses for ETH. He is up against a lot. But its really hard to think of a single POSITIVE thing to say about what he has done this year. If there was even a glimmer that his tactics, signings or man management had potential, I would back him. The devil is in the details sometimes. I dont follow arsenal. In those first few seasons were arteta's tactics as inexplicable? How much money did he spend? Did he run 2 world class players out of the club? Yes changing managers too often can be negative, but we are already rock bottom. And it seems like a total change in as many areas as possible is the way forward

Does EtH have a future at our Club? Ans. No, Bayern Munich would be the sort of Club that suits EtH not Ole! EtH has to earn the right to be our Manager cos right now he's been messing Up due to his lack of adapting, limited approach to the job & his undermining of the youth policy, so there's room for improvement! If Eric Ten Hag gets the PUSH cos he's a Man City fan, helping the opposition & sabotage what he has built at our Club then bring back Ole Gunnar Solskjear with his new Management team (Ole & his 3 Wise Men)!
