Fearow deserves so much better. I remember playing OG Pokémon Yellow as a kid and my Fearow just destroying teams with Drill Peck.

Mightyena was the workhorse of my Alpha Sapphire team. She was my first catch, in Poochyena form, from a grass rustle, and came with Ice Fang. Literally team lead all the way, even to the Elite Four.

I used a Mightyana All throughout my Omega Ruby playthrough and I've transferred her up all the way to Scarlett and Violet because she is one of my most prized pokémon.

Funny enough, in the fan game I'm making both Mightyena and Fearow get an evolution

Fearrow, regional variants would be a good start. Argue that it had been brought along to new areas by trainers and began to populate. An invasive species, make the standard versions of it and spearow harder to find, but available and as an added bonus, give the regional variant an additional evolution as a result of perhaps it better filling its niche, make it look more like whatever natural bird it is edging out. Hell, maybe even give a separate evolution for the standard as well based on friendship + a hold item specific to the region, again, based around an animal it is edging out-except perhaps instead of the regional variant evolving to more closely resemble the animal it is replacing, make the standard look more like the primary animal that the regional would be likely hunting to extinction. Both species of animal could be extremely difficult to find pokemon and they could potentially have the hold item necessary to evolve the fearrow, or perhaps it would evolve by having the other in the party and both have a high friendship level, as the Fearrow would be in proximity to the other pokemon as a catalyst for its evolution.

Thanks to the egg move, the Poochyana/Mightyana from rout one is always in my Alpha Saphire party and he's always a beast in battle so long as you keep the egg move. Flygon is my vote for most unfairly left-behind. People want him to have a mega evolution, but he's perfect the way he is and deserves better. Just look at those innocent eyes on that sweet little face!

Imo, we all knew Goodra shld be Dragon/Water type cuz it’s a rainy BOI and at this point, game freak should give Fearow both an evolution and a mega.

I always say that Goodra should be a Dragon Fairy type, as it fits the fairy typing better than poison, as poison types are usually sharp ferocious or frightening and she's just a goofy huggy buddy.

Fearow could get a new evolution in the legends ZA game, the legends games really liked the whole “use a move X times to evolve” mechanic so maybe if Fearow uses drill peck 10x he evolves and his evolution could get access to hyper drill, the Dunaparve evo line’s signature move. 100bp normal type with no drawbacks that hits through protect could make a pretty modest evolution have some sick usage.

I reckon Fearow show be a dark type, its name literally has "fear" in it. Then maybe give it another evolution and a more useful ability, maybe throw a couple more moves into its pool and then maybe it'll be usable.

Goodra should be part Water type. It would only have 2 weaknesses, tons of added resists, and it evolves in the rain. It doesn't make sense why. As a tanky/setup mon, the Water/Dragon typing it would help it tremendously.

Mightyena should get an Evo called “brutyena” make it a little harrier, give it some bigger fangs, and maybe make it a little more buff. It doesn’t have to physically change much but the stat boost it would get from an Evo would be very useful

Goodra feela like it could be poison, water, or bug on top of dragon. I personally would love for it to become the first dragon bug type, albeit it wouldnt have the best defenses (being weak to flying, ice, rock, fairy, dragon, and ice) but they could offset that by giving it better support and buff moves like quiver dance, pollon puff, and sticky web. Heck, i think you could justify giving it tail glow by saying light reflects off of its tail because of the moisture or something like that.

While not an official pokemon game, pokemon Vanguard gave Fearow and Spearow a regional ice and dark, and a mega. It’s actually pretty damn decent

If they want to keep OG Goodra as a pure-Dragon type for some reason (Game Freak stubbornly sticking to traditions even if they don't work is the reason) they could at least give it recovery. Give it Recover, or maybe a new rain variant of Synthesis, and it is immediately shooting up two or three tiers. Fearow could use a signature move. Yeah, it's just Fearow, but if freaking Rabsca can get a pseudo signature move and Grafaiai can get a proper signature move, then Fearow could also get one via being an OG bird. It's signature move could be a 90 bp Flying-type attack with a high crit ratio, pairing well with its Ability in Sniper. I guess its name would be "Drill Strike," in reference to both Drill Peck and Drill Run; both notable moves in its current moveset. A small 10 or 20 point boost to its Attack would also help a lot. Then it could stand out at the very least by running Focus Energy sets with a couple of high crit ratio moves. Pidgeot and Dodrio could also use some signature moves in this case, since their competitive usage is also a bit low. Dodrio would get a multi-hit move for obvious reasons: Maybe a 50 bp Normal move that hits three times to cover its Normal STAB (since it already has Brave Bird as a strong Flying STAB). Something something, "Triple Headbutt." Pidgeot would get a special Flying-type move due to its Attack and Sp. Atk being pretty close, and due to its Mega being definitively a special attacker. It could get a move called "Jet Stream" in reference to its speed being measured in Mach, which would be a spread attacking variant of Hurricane that sets up Tailwind if it lands instead of confusing the target. Immediately it becomes a VGC monster, though you are either giving up a Mega slot almost solely for one move or risking misses, which would keep it in line. Mightyena, as a lot of people mention, could just be given Strong Jaw over Moxie. A 30 bst injection straight into its Attack on top of that would make it a more hard hitting variant of Mabosstiff. Also give it access to Swords Dance, because if the likes of Venusaur could get it, I don't see why Mightyena can't.

Give fearow a unique help item. Like "fear wing" and either have it drastically boost its stats or make all(physical ) flying and normal type moves have a 20% chance to paralyze pokemon hit by fearow.

Tbh Fearow could be fixed, remember how originally it was basically the rival to Pidgeotto? Bring that back, give both of them a new variant form. There are tons of good ways to market them, maybe give Fearow's new variant a huge special atk and make it like an ice/flyer or rock/flyer?

I still stand by the fact that Goodra needs regenerator, NOT a part poison typing. The problem is not the fact that it’s mono dragon (being part poison or even part water would help tho), it’s that it has no real methods of using its bulk and it’s attacking stats are just not high enough. Regenerator would *actually* allow it to keep itself healthy, and it’s based off of a *slug.* *SLUGS REGENERATE BODY PARTS GAME FREAK!!!*

Has only 1 weakness and basically cant die to any special moves, and most widely used electric moves are special not physical, there's really not much you can hit it with to hurt it badly and goodra can hit back fairyly hard with its diverse move pool If youre a special attacker in singles you have to switch

Give spearow the zigzagoon treatment where it has a regional variant that has a second evolution after Fearow. Maybe make it fighting/flying or something. It's based on birds that live by the water, but making it have a times 4 weakness to electric would hurt it more

Goodra got a regional form recently, a psudo that does need extra attention is Hydreigon as since Fairy was added it was almost completely forgotten about until it could Tera and even then most people have stopped using it
