Painter Adrienne Judge of Abstracts by Adrienne creates sculpted florals for weddings and home decor. The process is similar to cake decorating, but the paint she uses, Gaffrey heavy texture acrylic paint, is more flexible than icing. One of her paintings can weigh eight pounds and cost up to $2,000.

The art itself is beautiful but if it's 100% paint, it pains me to see paint used in this way (。ŏ_ŏ). I could make a dozen art piece using the amount of paint she used shown in this video Σ (゚Д゚;). Though I doubt that it's real paint since it takes months to dry or even years-

imo it's because usually cakes are made as a gift for someone's birthday or celebration, which they want to be special and perfect as can be so the expectation is always high. maybe if more flowers on the cake were more organic, then there wouldn't be as much as a fuss?

Affordable version: flower + water+ acrylic paint.+ pva glue (just a little) Mix until you get a paste (like making icing). To get bright colours. Mix in fluorescent paint colour. Piping bag and icing tip of your choice. Leave in the fridge for 10 mins. Paint your heart out. Once dry, spray with clear lacquer to get glossy finish or leave as is. Enjoy kids! ❤

i dont really see why that should happen. Surfaces in faces are flatter, bigger and more uniform than flowers petals, much less projected, dimentionality can be easily achieved by layering color. There are other ways of getting this kind of "surface projection" in portraits, carving, sculping... using paint like this would not only be unnecessary difficul but also a waste of material
