@@JoeySings Most welcome, Greek mythology and stuff like that interest me so much I went looking into them in my spare time.

Even in the versions where Poseidon doesn't give them the idea for it he's responsible for it working. A Trojan priest sees through the ruse and is trying to warn people, so Poseidon sends two serpents to kill him. Some accounts even have the priest be one of his priests who is also his grandchild. He really has been extremely gracious for a god and for him in particular.

I only said that because so many people are saying “I watched the wrong video” in a community full of talented creators there should never be a wrong video. I appreciate you for actually recommending videos and not just doing what the others are doing and telling me I watched the wrong video without a suggestion. So thank you so much for this.

@@JoeySings The only way what you watch could be "wrong" is in the sense of getting just a snippet or the unfinished version of the song. Even that isn't really wrong, just a case where you probably want to check out the full version like you did with Storm. The animatics are all great and I hope you keep getting to enjoy them.

The only thing with Lampyrcys is that it makes this moment seem like something it's not, that's the only complaint I have with theirs

@@carlycchapman I can definitely think of a few other cons that basically aren't an issue once you're familiar with the song and intention behind it. It misses showing the rest of the crew being there, and can be a little misleading for some people as far as Odysseus' emotions. I've seen several reactors confused about why he's so happy and upbeat after the losses, and some of the people I've shown it to have wondered if they had supernatural abilities that they hadn't noticed yet. Since it's more anime stylized, the expressions tend to be a bit more exaggerated, which makes for a great watch when you know what's going on but in my experience can confuse some viewers. The one he reacted to by TJ Make is pretty in line with what was available at the time but does also miss the context of the full song, and doesn't really show a change of scene when in mentions them talking in private. As for pros, they both are very expressive, and I love the designs in Lampyrcy's. The effects and visual metaphors used are very creative and I personally don't mind someone having a shippy take on stuff. It's always fun to see how people are interpreting things. It's why I'll always recommend people watch that one, but don't recommend they watch it for their first exposure to the song. For the one by TJ makes I really enjoy the expressions and the back and forth given. I like the little bit of comedy you get with the crew trying to pretend they aren't listening in. I feel like it's a pretty direct adaptation of what was available at the time, since the backing vocals hadn't been added yet. Like I said before I think they're both great, and both have pros and cons. I'm glad that it seems like those other things aren't a con for you though. It means you can enjoy it even more.

@@JoeySings I know you didn't I just wanted to inform you that the movie bothers many in that Fandom including me do to it change the books plot and have many inaccurates about the books and the mythology that inspired it, but I doubt anyone would be mean about it since you didn't do anything wrong.

I’m not trying to criticize or anything. I’m just saying that you would had so much more context, especially with the storm because it was not short but more of part of the song only. But you did your best so I’m glad that you’re enjoying this. Just keep this in mind. If this song is less than at least two minutes then it’s not a full one. Most of the songs are three, two and a half minutes or even four minutes so that just heads up

Lampyrcy is the only one with the finished audio but had the drawback that a lot of people I've seen react to it end up confused about the tone of the song and don't realize it's being sung in front of the crew because of the style of visuals. Every animatic has trade offs with other ones, and sometimes having the visuals closer to what's intended by the song can be better for a first watch. Nobody is going to be 100% happy with all the video choices because we all have our own favorite picks, but he's doing great as is. I have some unsolicited advice you're free to ignore. I know you're not intending to criticize since you've said you weren't, but saying "It should have been x" does convey disappointment or criticism to most people. If you don't want it to be taken that way you could try just offering a suggestion for ones for him to check out in addition to what he's seen, and mention why you think they're good. Doing that ends up sharing what you love with other people without implying you know better or that they did something wrong. I used to communicate the way you did here and it would end up upsetting or hurting people, so I've learned to communicate the other way the hard way.

As a creator who supports EVERYONE there isn’t a wrong a video. When I asked for suggestion you could’ve told me which videos you’d recommend but you didn’t. So to comment this isn’t helpful and rude to the creators who made the animatics I did watch.
