I had a friend like this, but would leave me on read so many times whenever I made plans or asked for a favor, and ditch last minute, but whenever he made plans or needed a favor I was there no questions asked. He also would "roast" me by putting down my looks. I am not sure whether to think he's real or fake. I'm pretty sure there's more to friendship then just being a listening ear.

From what you have indicated, this is definitely not a genuine friend. This sounds like some one who is using you bro and doesn't value what you bring to the friendship. Stay clear and work on your self, make your self the best version possible and you will attract like minded friends on the same energy level.

I deeply resonate with your points. My problem is this, Ive dropped most of so called friends, left with literally 2-3 closest ones and those arent even on my level of self improvement and Ive tried to help them see the light but in vein (Im still trying to get them to level up). What should I do with them, drop everyone? :D

U can’t force change on people and people can’t force change on you if someone’s see your point then fine but it doesn’t mean that you are right it’s just your recommendation which is still your opinion over all people will either accept you or they will not tolerate you in the end you are responsible for you and only you who ever follows your lead understands that you can be a true leader not a follower lol

I've been through that and believe me I have lovely friends but they are not even close to being ambitious enough or capable enough nor they want to try to be capable enough.

Thanks brother, I can relate. Unfortunately not everyone is willing to change and when you try to get them to change and they don't it can be quite upsetting because you want those closest to you to purely tap into their hidden potential and win. My advice bro is to work on you, and love them from a distance and when you have levelled up they will either be inspired to change or not. Otherwise it can ruin your own self improvement journey and no one can do this for you other than yourself. Best of luck!
