StezStix Fix?

These SAMSUNG Earbuds were kindly sent over to me by Ty. He says that one of them is no longer working after some water damage...
Let's have a look and let's try and fix it!
Hope you enjoy!
Steve

I'm honestly kind of shocked how repairable those earbuds are. Compared to the Apple version that you can only open destructively, these seem positively easy to open and work on. Just a shame about the lack of schematics and other documentation :)

@@stephenmanis5258 Yeah, just two clips holding the enclosure together? Too easy. Stack of PCBs connected with flatflex and you can actually manipulate individual SMD parts and follow traces? But Apple said it couldn't be done.

Steve, a tip from experience when working with fiddly SMD components. Use a toothpick instead of tweezers to hold/position components. Works about 10x better and, bonus, especially if you're working with hot air, doesn't conduct heat.

Good soldering tweezers aren't cheap, and the ones that *are* cheap aren't nearly that small and aren't nearly that good for putting SMD components on. They're good for taking them off. There's literally nothing in this video that would have been a good usecase for hot tweezers.
