I was questioning the “American” part based on the firearms. He has a Winchester Lever rifle. (American) and what seems to be a CZ bolt rifle (Czech). The soldiers have AK and AR15/M16 style guns ( Russian and US) Then when they do the flashback to his time in the military he has an Austrian Steyr AUG rifle. I also saw an HK MP 5 (German) and what appeared to be a Glock knife. (Austrian).
