I love that y'all understand Angel's position. He literally has no choice - even if he wanted to do it at the start so he could become famous, he's stuck there. Whether he loves doing it or not, he has no choice. So he copes with it, but it's gotten to the point that the only way he can cope with it is drugs and booze. The nice thing is that because he's living at the hotel and surrounded by people who ACTUALLY care about him, he's starting to be able to live life outside of his work and not need to be high or drunk all the time anymore.

Angel actually drinks less as time goes on. He went from downing a bottle of something strong in the second episode, to all the drinks in this one, to a small martini in episode 5, to practically none at all by the end. He really does go from "drinking to cope" to "occasional social drink" as he heals more. It's a subtle detail, but I love it.

So against an army of angels, I think carmine and zestial will do more damage. The Vees not having much to use against them

For the sinners yes but Helluva Boss has shown that hellborns albeit still very durable can be killed by normal means like in the Harvest Moon Festival episode when Millie’s mother was scolding her for causing multiple funerals implying those imps permanently died from her and we know she doesn’t have angelic weapons.

this was referenced in the spin-off show Helluva Boss. An assassin was sent to kill an Arse Goetia (demon nobility thats a rank below Overlord, they specializes in knowledge and have magic powers to go to the human world). However the only way he could effectively hurt him was with weapons made from angelic steel.

I love that y'all noticed Husk giving him a look down and up, because there's some hints that they might get together in the future. It's subtle, and their relationship is a sort of slow burn, but it's what's the best for both of them, being friends and maybe something more in the future :)

Yes, Velvette is black. Carmilla and Vaggie are South American Latinas, and Alastor is mixed race Creole from Louisiana. And I personally consider Husker Black because of Keith David. He aint voiced a white man ever! 😅

It's important to note that Carmilla is so powerful because she sells weapons made from the angelic weapons left behind from Exterminations. Weapons made from that metal can also kill sinners, so sinners can still permanently be killed outside the exterminations if those weapons are used on them. Vaggie's spear is an angel spear.

Husk (the bartender) is voiced by Keith David. He was the voice of Dr. Facilier in "The Princess and the Frog," and he was the Cat in "Coraline" to name a few roles. He's a very prolific voice actor, and live-action actor as well! His professional career dates back to the 80s. He's an absolute *legend.* Also, there is no official sexual/romantic relationship between Angel and Husk but a lot of fans do ship them haha (but who knows what season 2 has in store for us). Lastly, I love y'alls convo at the end, because that's what makes this show so stinkin good! It tackles real serious issues, and the characters have such depth to them. Simultaneously it's super whacky and light-hearted/fun. I can't wait for your next set of reactions!! 😊

Also, Husk's VA Keith David also played Dr. Facilier in Disney's The Princess and the Frog. And if you've seen that one, Doc F actually gets dragged to hell by demons he struck a deal with for his big defeat. So going off of that, you can actually connect Husk's origin story as being Doc F from Disney! XD I seriously hope that at some point in the series down the road they make a reference to that by having Husk being cruel to some frogs randomly but not explain why. That would be perfect.

Keith David is indeed both the voice actor for Husk and for Julias from Saints Row! Good catch. He also played the cat in Coraline (highly recommended if you haven't seen it), the Flame King in Adventure Time, the president in Rick & Morty, and Admiral Anderson in the Mass Effect series.

Husk is actually voiced by Kieth David who was the voice of Goliath from Gargoyles and the villain from Princess and the Frog. He's a powerhouse and always has been

I'm loving this series!! I found you all through my suggested bc of Hazbin Hotel, and I love all of your reactions! Could I make a ~recommendation~ that you all watch and react to the pilot at some point? It's here on KZfaq and it was made years ago, before the pandemic started. Idk if you all already know about it. But I didn't learn about it until after I watched these 8 episodes, so I watched it after! But it filled in a lot of the backstory that the main series doesn't cover, like some of the lore a bit. Different voice actors. But I thought Ep 1 loaded so much new info, but there was already some backstory for some extra context. Love the videos! Keep it up!! (:

Glad I discovered your channel and your enthusiastic reactions to one of my favorite shows! The voice actors are all Broadway musical performers, which is why the singing is so phenomenal! An interesting thing about "Poison" is that it's the only song in the series that's strictly a solo. No backing vocals or other characters joining in because the song conveys Angel's feelings of isolation and despair.

If carmine was revealed to be the one to kill the angel the Angels would outright target her and her family. This is the problem, even if she revealed that angelic weapons can kill angels it would lead to her being attacked as the main source of weapons.
