You should have added Pandan leaf extract for flavour and a little bit of sugar. Or.. same thing as the one I suggested but add coconut milk (santan), but add the coconut milk after the agar agar dissolve/liquid but do not stir as much after you added the coconut milk. You'll get a layered texture. But my agar agar is powdered. Really hope you can try it and let us see how did it turn out.

You can make a variation of Nariyal ka Agar Pudding or Coconut Agar Pudding. You can add flavors like mango, saffron, rose water, or crushed cardamom seeds and layer different flavors by pouring them in alternating layers and allowing each layer to set before adding the next one.

My love here is my suggestion: Maybe we can add more water, sugar and flavors for better consistency. How I grew up eating is: get the colorless one then soak and boil it in water then add it to hot boil milk with sugar (flavored milk like strawberry, tender coconut, mango) you can just add some fruit jam or purée. Would taste great. With jiggly texture

I miss this. Even though I'm in the Philippines, Agar isn't sold anymore near me in Batangas which was so common when I was a kid until around early 2010s. The stores and supermarket removed it and replaced it with different types of mr. Gulaman sold in sachets because its easier and faster to cook. But honestly I prefer real Gelatin though expensive or Agar because of the consistency/texture when firm. Mr. Gulaman after a day leaks water or soft even if less water is added. While Gelo and Agar are Firm which is perfect for broken glass/cathedral window dessert which color doesn't leak and separate when milk or white is added. Usually with mr. Gulaman when mixed to make broken glass, it leaks which makes the color murky with the mixed colors.

Agar agar is widely used in the culinary world, both as a vegan alternative to gelatine but is also priced for it's properties to produce a heat restistent gel up to around 45 degrees celcius. This is achieved by making your agar agar gel with whichever flavouring you want, and then blending it until completely smooth, thus negating the crumbling texture as well. Afterwards you can bag or squeze bottle it for service

In Malaysia, we add sugar to it. So, agar-agar will be more sweet. Some state in Malaysia dried the agar-agar under sunlight, then after it dried, agar-agar will solidified at the outside (not too hard just like a candy) and we eat it as a sweets or candy. I really enjoy eat the dried version because it's crunchy at the outside and soft at the inside with a sweet taste. On another bowl whisk some egg whites until its start foaming (stop until just before you reach a soft peak) Slowly fold the warm agar mixture in, and let it cool My grandma used to pour it into a mold and layered a vanilla flavoured spongy-foamy agar as the base with a regular clear agar with cut up fruits in it, and it created fun and different textures!

It should either have sugar and/or milk. Or condensed milk to give it flavor and makes it softer though. Then it should also be strained before letting it set.

I know agar from my work place in the lab where we use it to cultivate bacteria! XD it’s like a plant based gelatin I think made from some kind of algae? It’s used in micro biology because it has a higher melting point than gelatin which would get way to soft when incubated at body temperature or higher and since we incubate the Petri dishes upside down, it would just melt and slump into the lid. But agar is also a popular vegan substitute for gelatin.

Add sugar and pandan flavor. Add cubes of ripe mango. Add cream and some condensed milk. You can also use fresh young coconut meat instead of the mangoes and coconut cream for the dairy. Chill and serve. I grew up knowing it as gulaman.

Been using agar agar for vegan jello shots for years. If you mix it well with the flavors and colors you like, plus a good balance of citric acid you’ll never know the difference!

Agar is a disaccharide I’m pretty sure. It’s used in laboratory research to make gels. Usually you’ll microwave agar combined with a buffer, then pour it into a mold for it to harder. Bacteria use it as a growing media and I’ve used it for electrophoresis

put in some coconut milk and condense milk 😍😍 and the more liquid you have, the less it falls apart when bite but more of the firm jello texture. If you want, you can combine both agar agar with gelatine to your prefer texture
