These STOL Planes Do not need a runway to Takeoff

Designed for operation on unprepared runways, STOL aircraft are conventional fixed-wing planes that require short runway lengths for both take-off and landing. These aircraft achieve shorter runway requirements through efforts to maintain a low minimum flying speed (also known as stall speed). For take-off, high power-to-weight ratios and low drag allow the aircraft to accelerate quickly into flight. During landing, strong brakes, low landing speeds, and the use of thrust reversers or spoilers help shorten the runway length needed. The overall performance of STOL aircraft is measured by the length of runway needed for either landing or takeoff. So In this video, we will explore the top 10 factory-produced aircraft with the most impressive STOL capabilities, excluding any personally modified ones
if any content owners notice that the fair use has been abused. PLEASE contact us for further procedures and actions through our email: copyattendant@gmail.com
Thank you.

I think that whoever (or whatever) narrated the script, selected the footage and did the on-screen numbers needs to do some checking! This video is a MESS! A de Havilland Buffalo doesn't take off in 50 feet, it takes 1200 feet to REACH 50 feet of altitude! While we're on the numbers, the last time I looked, 25,000 feet is not 276 metres for instance. And when illustrating an aircraft type, don't switch to completely different aircraft in the clips!

@@lagodifuoco313 Yes but it is still factually incorrect in many places. These weren't modifications, these aircraft are all FACTORY-BUILT TO BE STOL aircarft, , "excluding any modified ones", as it says at the start. Anyone who knows about this subject knows that. And sticking with the Buffalo, 41,000 lbs is not 1875kg, its over 18,000KG.

interessing , Saddly you keep switching image of differents planes while talking about one model, so we don't know if the plane you are talking about is the one on the screen or not ...

i had to go check that too , can clear a 50 ft tree after 1210 ft ,with a stall speed of 85 mph the acceleration to get into the air would be other worldly , lots of JTOl would do it ....

Interesting most small stol shown have tail wheels - common but they struggle in tall grass where I land my nose wheel stol zenair 801. I Mow when my prop tips turn green. 😆 Ps: the 801 is difficult to get. The kits are available still in Canada I understand but you have to wait until they get orders for three before they’ll cut/assemble the kit. I’ll never sell mine. Flying low slow with the doors pinned open - flying don’t get better 😀

Yes. The wind might lift the plane but you would simply float in place. An engine is required to move you forward.

Hey guys. After being into STOLsince C19 and much of conversation with the Pateys, Humberts and lots of other STOL Experimental guys one question still remains. I have seen anything adapted to this planes. Rotarys, turbos, snow mobile engines from hell, edge performance, tail stingers, acne struts, Slats, vg's and even double slotted flaps and lawn mower wheels. BUT WHY IN HELL DID NOONE EVER adapt a speed brake preloaded and activated by the tail wheel? You wanna get rid of lift in the very first moment you touch the ground which normally is the tail wheel when aproaching high alpha and right side of the power curve. I would like to do that ut Germany won't allow that in any way. So, hello enthusiasts, lets discuss this. I'd like to. Let the props be long. The ground is the limit.
