Hmmm Renee's garden use to have another name I have a catalog somewhere from the 1980's =) I no longer purchase seeds from that company as the germination rate has changed & the amount of seeds per packet is low. Eden Brothers is where I get most of my seeds along with Seed Savers that has been around for decades . I realize that a promotion article for Renee's is making the rounds but hey I'm just saying I bought from the original seed Co & after the name changed. It was called Shepard Seeds the first company lol =)

@@illusionary5951 I thought they had been around since I started gardening in the early 90s, but I definitely remember buying Shepard Seed packets back then, so maybe it is the same company. In any case I bought them from local shops, not mail order. They always had beautiful illustrations.

No truer words, my friend. Oh, I like what your district did! My school had an early release and I was able to catch the views around 3:30 this afternoon. Too cool, for sure. I know that everyone (this was me included) wants to show pictures of the biggest fruit or veg they've grown, but I have come to looooove compact crops because of the reasons you mentioned. They are sill excellent in taste, nutrition, and I get a chance to succession plant even in a small space. It's a win-win. Finally stretch until summer vacation!

Perennial bushes that come back every year annnnd when we hit the inevitable overun of veg. They turn into huge blooms if left on the plant. Put them along the edge of the yard with some sunflowers. problem is they take forever.😢 Think I want some loafas now.😂 Always one more.

It’s impressive what a variety of veggies you can grow in your Greenstalk! I still need to start mine, aside from the all strawberry one where they’ve mostly started coming back - I think I’m intimidated because all mine grew last year was one pea pod. Everything else just stopped growing! But I’m going to try some different things with the soil this year, so I’m hoping I have more success.

You are welcome my dear! Renee's Garden has great variety (especially for small space growers). Miniature crops are still big on taste, nutrition and get you there in a fraction of the time! Happy growing!

Listen girl…Thank you 😊. I moved to Fl. 2 yrs ago from Ma. And am having such a hard time growing my stuff bcz it goes from “winter “ to summer in days. And this Fl Sun is on another level. And at that any day con go from freezing over night to 90 in the same 24 hrs. 😮. It’s crazy. These quick varieties might just be it for me. Great idea. Thank you so much. God bless ❤

Oh I'm so glad you found this helpful! My folks are in Florida and yes, you described the temperature change exactly. :) Over the last few years I've really hunkered down on ensuring that I'm growing crops that aren't so temperamental and can take fluctuations with a bit a heat or cold. Even here in MD, I know that as soon as winter is "over" we'll get maybe 2-3 weeks of a spring rainy season, then bam, high summer heat from May through August. It's nuts.

I have found a farmer who can lend me some growing space. I am going to help them out a bit and watch the farm animals in exchange. This allows me to grow a canning garden! Imagine having that! God guided me to a defunct CSA operation and that led 2 the farmer. He is 8 minutes away. I feel this could happen for you too. Search community gardens, CSA, pick your own farms, whatever comes to mind. Btw, I love your content.

Can you share how to plant and grow on your deck when the community you live in sprays the lawns and trees several times a year to control weeds and bugs in the trees and the blowback is in the air. I’m concerned about growing food on our deck with the amount of regular chemical use in our community. We downsized to a townhome a few years ago and did not realize they were treating like this. Would a small greenhouse, like they sell at Aldi work? It does not have a floor in it but it would cover what I grow in a couple of raised beds. Thank you so much🏡☺️

Started some of my seeds too soon, mostly flowers. Already had to replant most of the seedlings. Sighs still have freezing temps at night and snow on the ground. Vegetables started peppers, tomatoes, and squash (acorn and pumpkin) because those take 120 days to mature. Will start the rest including loofahs end of April. Planting outdoors doesn't happen till after Mothers day to the first of June for my area. 😊just going to have to enjoy your garden.

Hey lady! Oy vey, seed starting is tricky and I've been where you are plenty of times. Don't beat yourself up about it. I'm a much better late spring/ early summer planter than fall planter for sure. You still have plenty of time to get things going, and goodness, with the price of starts at garden centers (in my neck of the woods single herbs are selling for nearly 6 bucks!!!) growing from seed is still your most cost effective option. Give yourself some grace and, as you mentioned, start after Mother's Day. You've got this!

Hi Cassandra, I am located on the Western Shore of Maryland. I too live in a townhouse and do the small-garden thing on my 2nd story deck and in my lower-level tiny yard. This season I am highly considering the GreenStalk planters. However, the wind off of the shore can be very intense. I wasn't sure if you had similar issues up where you are at - if so how do you secure the vertical planters from blowing away or taking a nose dive? Cyndi

Idk if it's just me but all the links are leading to the website, not the particular variety. I have a large garden space but I'm still going to look into these. It gets hot FAST here and I want early producing varieties!

I tried the micro dwarf Tiny Tim in my Greenstalk last year and am totally in love! Adorable bushy plants under 12 inches tall produced about 30 salad size tomatoes each, starting very early and lasting well through the summer.
