This coming from him, is kind of laughable because they always expect the person pitching their business to them on shark tank to drop everything and work full time on a business or they "don't believe enough in it".

@@wolfwang8464 I think if the business needs to scale, it's good advice. When starting out, you shouldn't quit your job. I feel they are consistent with giving this advice... Too early, not good product, don't quit job. Good product, needs to scale, quit your job.

If you are seeking investment, that means almost by definition that you are full time. It means your time spent on the business is more valuable than the money you’d otherwise be making in that other job. Eg instead of asking “when can I afford to go full time on my business?” rather ask, “when can I NOT afford to be full time on this business?”

I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to find someone who is so open and transparent. I really look up to Daymond- I respect him. They don't teach us about money in school and the main reason for half of all marriages failing is money management. Our educational system is a complete joke, all the way through university.

Needed these words. Exactly what I told my two friends who I have plans to start a couple businesses with. I told him I'm going to save for a year then start up the business then still work my job or jobs while I work the company as well. Anything is possible with the right mentality. I started up a few in the past and through those errors I have learned. Thank you for this video. God bless you Daymond! Most so called entrepreneurs would charge for these words. As a teacher I 100% agree we should be teaching money skills early to children! However, sadly, the focus is always on reading and math skills, because that's what kids are tested on regularly.

A very good reason we are not taught about credit and finances in school. It is not legal to do that. Fair Credit Act made it illegal to teach a credit class in school. High School or College students have toi rely on their parents who are clueless.

Success only has 2 roads u can bear the cost of entry into market or it goes viral/popular. Many start ups fails cause they think they got enough to enter the market and don't go viral. Some industry require millions to penetrate the market.

I am in construction and it depends on what kind of business you want to start. i just started a new start up construction company. I need to build a prototype to have an actual product to show investors. i do have $500'000 in equity in my home. To tell me not to take out $100'000 to build my prototype is foolish. My homes are going to be ultra affordable because i have come up with a new way to build homes. My investors and the state of Colorado need proof of concept.i am financially very educated. you can not expect others to spend money on your vision if you are not willing to spend some of your own money to get started.

If you're in a bumfuck state where the minimum wage is $7/hr and has no taxes and is propped up by subsidies from wealthier states, then yes, it's livable. For anywhere else, it's nowhere close.

I mean it's possible at the Torrance location but highly highly unlikely unless he worked doubles 7 days a week which corporations don't let you do but if you really did make that then he can conquer the world and he deserves everything

The key to success is spending other peoples money, saying ''dont take out loan'' thats just crap, dont take bad dept, take positive loan as many times as you have to. Take those 20k to buy a cheap appartment, for sure it will double its price in 10 years as it always has, sure take that 50k and put it in BTC, it will 5x in next 10 years, heck it, if it only 2x ur still in profit. Always spend other peoples money, there is no other way.

I love Damon, but you use the knowledge you gain from a degree even if you don't directly use the degree itself to get a job. It makes you a well-rounded person and not every college is $300,000. Go to a state college. A degree is more than a piece of paper.

That’s dumb. College does not make you a well rounded person. Plenty go to college and come out not well rounded. It is your own life experiences that can make you a well rounded person and how you react to those life experiences. Not everyone that goes to college is a well rounded person, some that did not go to college are well rounded people. Also well rounded is completely subjective so it’s a non point saying college makes you a well rounded person.

It’s helped me get a much higher paying job than the jobs I had before and I understand mostly what anyone is talking about when it comes to finance, the economy, the stock market, etc. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
