What Mat says about his favorite quarry to shoot The Rat takes the words right out of my mouth when I'm out shooting ras at night. Cracking show, love listening to Richard and Mat, two cracking blokes to put across how we feel about our passion for guns and shooting. Just love it brilliant show thanks

A superb podcast as usual Mat & Richard 👍 Have visited and made purchases from Crackshot, they’re very good. However we could really do with a good Airgun dealer like them down here in Cornwall where the RFD situation is woeful.

This is a great podcast! I've enjoyed every discussion and episode so far! I just wanted to leave a comment about your comment about shooting rats, when you said that people never have a problem with people shooting rats I thought, "you don't know California where I live!" It's very popular to hate hunting around here and if you told someone "hey, I just shot a rat in my garden" they would act like you're an asshole for killing anything! ...but the same people love those John Wick movies. Anyway, keep up the great videos! ✌️

Thanks very much. I lived in California...and you're right! Mind you, I wonder how many of those same people would feel the same if they saw rats running around in their kitchen! Thanks very much for watching. Terry and Dave up next...

Totally agree with you! I cannot decide either so have the HW100KT plus Paul Short tuned springers in the shape of the HW95 and HW97K - plus a vanilla TX200HC to keep it British (a bit)!

@richsaunders6515 personally I'm by no means in the same category as yous boys nor have I used the amount of rifles yous have so my knowledge and experience is quite slim... Having said that .. My top would have to be a hw100 I have one now full length thumb hole in sub 12 litterally hits everything a point it at 14 shots through a hole the size of a press pin out to 40-50 yards so that has a special place for me .. I do like the hw97s and am debating getting a new one if I can convince the Mrs to let me get one around Christmas time... id ideally like to swap the stock for a sheffield custom stock and tart it up a bit with a brass trigger guard and possibly a good tune etc... I did once have a go of a weihrauch around 15 year ago I'm 31 now so wen I was about 16 ish and I'm sure it was either a hw35 or a hw80 what a phenomenal rifle it was to shoot ... Had the joys of shooting the alpha wolf and whilst I'm solid in my stance of the more tech in a rifle the more there is to go wrong what a joy that electric trigger was it was just like fresh air hard to really explain it.. So my list at the moment has to be Hw100 Hw97 Hw95 And that's really it for mine as I've had verry little experience and only currently own a hw100.. My dream 5 though another story... Hw100 (own) Hw97 (want) Hw95 (want) Brk ghost (want) Air marks krait L (want) Likely never own the majority though with the cost of rifles these days took forever and a day to get hold of my 100 but I do really want a good spring air rifle something I can pass down to my son wen he's old enough.. Come on though I've gotta here from you just a quick round up pf your top 5 or what your looking at or wanting ?

That's a great list and I wouldn't argue against a single one of them! I too have an HW100 in a CS stock, and HW80, 77 and 35. The Ghost is a fantastic rifle - I use the Carbine model for much of my rat shooting. Others In think deserve a mention are the Huntsman Revere, Wolverine R and Alpha/Delta Wolf from Daystate. FX Impact M3, Air Arms S510 and the BSA R10 and R12. Too many rifles to choose from!@@silverback710

Hi I have the cheetah but never know what is the best zero for rabbits. I realise we can set different zeros and stall them on memory. Thanks
@richsaunders6515
@richsaunders6515 3 ай бұрын
Hi Graham. I'm guessing your Cheetah is not the laser rangefinder version? Shooting in the dark with IR is tricky unless you know the ground you are shooting over really well because judging distance is that much harder. An IR scope fitted with a laser range finder makes life a lot easier. I zero my 12 ft/lbs rifles at 30 metres then spend some time on the range working out how much hold over and hold under I'll need for different distances shorter and longer than 30 metres. I limit myself to a maximum of 30 metres with a 12 ft/lbs .22 and know that a shot at 20 metres requires about an inch of hold under. I push the distance out to 40 metres with my 12 ft/lbs .177 because I know that shots at 20 metres have the same point as at 30 metres, and that 40 metres requires about an inch of hold over. Those figures will vary depending on your rifle/scope set up and the height of the scope from the barrel. Best thing to do is get out on the range and see what's best for your gear. Good luck.
