We join Mat Manning as he hunts grey squirrels on a farm where shooters can stay for an airgun holiday. Presented with unfamiliar ground, Mat offers some tips on how to maximise your chances when getting to grips with a new permission and then goes on to bag some squirrels for the camera.

Another fine hunting video Mat. Well done. I'd like to suggest an idea for a bait testing video. In the same manner as you, I use peanuts to bait the location in the weeks leading up to the shoot. But on the day of the shoot, I add several clumps of sticky PEANUT BUTTER onto the feeder. The drawing power from the pungent odor of the peanut butter is significant. And once on the feeder, the squirrels go for the peanut butter in preference to the peanuts nearly every time. The sticky mess of the PB on the squirrels front paws seems to hold them in place while eating for clean shots. I'd love to see you give it a go.

Thank you Mat. Do you have the MTC for a time?, I would like to see some through scope Image, A rabbit sized object at 100M would be perfect. None of the (very few) reviews of the Swat scopes have had "through scope" content, I have to wonder Why. Thanks again for another enjoyable Airgun Show.

Henry I'm glad Mat included a shot of the Prismatic's reticle, but that was my first thought too, hence asking how this compares to the existing MTC Viper-X Connect scopes. Cheers. Russ

Nice wee scope Mat, I assume it's second focal plane? How does the field of view of the prismatic scope compare with MTC's legendary Viper-X Connect, and with having a fixed mag do you think this new scope will appeal to HFT shooters? The adjustable-MOA base would be a great idea for digital scopes, to ensure the zeroed reticle is central in the FOV as they can all suffer from misalignment especially with Air rifle trajectories. I've had the connect and now got an atom, I'd say the FOV is better on the atom, much better low light visibility too, as for HFT I've never done it, if you can't turn the parralax wheel ( wasn't sure if you cant touch it after you've set) then it may not be very good, as the parralax needs adjusting a lot, in the field though it's makes for really accurate ranging.

@@kev8816 Hello Kev, As you are an owner, who better to ask. I am a relative Newbie to this so please be kind, MTC claim a 28m FOV at 100m, and as the scope is fixed mag. my brain can't get around the thought of how small a rabbits head peeking up through the grass must look in a 28m wide picture. A simple "it does not work like that" would be much better that "you are an idiot". thanks.

I used to be a right git with my pellet gun 35 yrs ago , used to shoot at ducks , birds more or less anything that moved, now I’m 55 and just bought a gun today , and couldn’t shoot anything living , we have the odd rat lives under the wife’s decking and pops out and nicks the birds food , bread and nuts , but I couldn’t shoot that either ,, not faulting what you do , as I eat meat that someone has killed for my pleasure ,, the point I’m trying to make is how you kill animals with a rifle and 30 yrs later wouldn’t shoot a rat if someone give me 100 quid madness that I don’t understand about my self cheers for the vid and gun info Shane uk 🇬🇧

Real men don't kill Squirrel , leave them be, your such a horrible Man!! That's a fact, Nice men would never kill such adorable Animals! My father is a very respected Decent and loved Man, he loves all Animals and does not NEED to kill them for HOBBIES AND SPORT, your life is very temporary here, make the most of being a Human , for in your next birth you will be born Animal, I myself once was many life times ago! We all had to experience that, some that do not learn the right lessons here, RETURN BACK to Animal form, maybe you might end up in Cruel China being Eaten Alive! You silly Neanderthal Human In your next Rebirth you will be the Animal hunted! Trust me this is absolutely TRUE!
