The Shop

There’s no better outlet that provides knowledge, perspective, and leadership than The Shop. To close out Season 6, 12-time NBA All-Star point guard Chris Paul, rapper & activist Killer Mike, NBA head coach Ty Lue, and actor & producer LaKeith Stanfield join marketing executive Paul Rivera and entrepreneur Maverick Carter. CP3 describes the emotional rollercoaster of publishing his book and the life lessons he learned from his late grandfather, Ty Lue talks what it actually means to be a "player's coach" in the NBA, Killer Mike explains the importance of mentorship to influence the Black community, and LaKeith illustrates why activism today hinges upon being active. Plus, the crew weighs in on Ja Morant and the responsibility they have to inform, educate and lead the next generation. Kick up your feet and remember...in the barbershop, you can't lie.
The Shop UNINTERRUPTED is presented by Grey Goose.
In LeBron James' words..."Everything happens in The Shop." The Sports Emmy Award-winning series The Shop UNINTERRUPTED is back for Season 6! Join us this season for new episodes featuring the biggest names in the game for unfiltered talk about sports, music, and culture.

I used top hate Tyron Lue on the strength of his great play against my Sixers and Iverson. I loved the jumpshot/step over he did on him. Now i see how they became friends; Lue seems like a standup guy and I see how he has been successful in his coaching career. I keep hearing "He's grown" "he's a grown man..." being "grown" only means you can't be grounded lol It doesn't prevent you from making serious mistakes and doing wrong in life, and it doesn't mean you can't have your coat pulled or be corrected when you're going the wrong way. They have to live with their results

I remember during my first year in College at the University of Nebraska in 1998, I saw this particular incident happen more than several times. The Huskers football players would drive around campus in their "donated" SUV's blacked out and fully loaded, and on the same day/night, I would see Tyronn Lue freezing his ass off in the snow walking back to his dorm/home after night practices. As a 18 year old student at Lincoln, that's when I first got to see with my own eyes the money distribution between the Football and Basketball money in colleges. I also had a star football player in my math class too, sat right next to me, but I won't put his name up here on blast. He only showed up like 2 times the whole semester to take his finals tests, which i'm sure was set rigged somehow by the whole university. He obviously didn't know his math basics at all. I let him copy offa my test. Because I loved the dude as a Huskers star football player. But I got to see how the favortism and the bs of a college education for "Student Athletes" was really lacking unconcerned about the Student part of the equation.

I relate so much to this episode. I teach every student that I cross paths with that your IMAGINATION is your problem solver. It's your INSPIRATION and your FUEL. I love how they're talking about transitioning and sharing vital information. This episode is so important to the culture. LaKeith Stanfield is so regal and refined. I love to hear him speak. His presence is so captivating and he's an amazing actor. Ty is my guy I love Coach Ty he is always the ultimate leader and encourager. Chris Paul is the general in life and on the court. I love what he stands for and how he is inspired to help the youth have an opportunity. Killer Mike just makes it so easy to love him as well. He's a man of the people and he has barz for days. I love how he has carved out this lane for himself and he continues to educate us all especially when it comes to HISTORY.

most of time it is late to mentor someone when they are in NBA, but I would love to see the mentorship program in the AUU level, because only a small % make to the NBA, but everyone needs to make a living and understand how to grow and understand how to become professional if anything that we decided to to, especially for African Americans.
