I am trying this version of the challenge now and it’s so fun! I put in some solar panels as soon as I could afford them and then a gremlins event knocked them out. Well I hired a repair man to help with the electronics and he got electrocuted on the panels. Then the game sent another and she also got electrocuted. And then a helpful neighbor wanted to help with repairs and he also got electrocuted. 😂 I ended up really good friends with grim, and now I have a choice of sims to revive.

Don is absolutely the kind of guy whose Tinder profile pic would be him holding up an enormous fish.

Starting the bubble blower yourself will cost money, but you could wait for an NPC to start it and then join in with whatever flavour they're enjoying. 37:27 the new trait made you happy and now the spice festival inspiration is strong! You can harvest!

Painting grilled cheese paintings and selling them could be your side hustle. And if you ever get around to fixing up the house, you should really embrace the whole grilled cheese aesthetic (yellow furniture and wallpaper).

It is a bit frustrating seeing how spectre sprinkles are wasted. They may be the most op skill gain boost in the game, at 150%, and I always feel like hardly anyone has noticed, even though the pack has been out for a long time now. They also boost some other stuff, like romance. It's why I keep making my sims live in haunted houses, if I need them to skill up a bunch. :) (The sprinkles would be the reason Semaj suddenly gained a lot of cooking skill when just making grilled cheese, and probably also that sudden romance spike with the guest.)

Honestly.. Twins or Triplets.. Now THAT will be pure chaos in that house once the time comes lol 😅😂

I think you should repairio your burnt and broken items from dumpster diving. One of the challanges was to become an occult sim so you should be allowed to benefit from that. Your side hustle could be buying a plot of land and selling the items you find in a dumpster. You can keep the mark up percentage low.

“We’re having a science baby”…on the one hand, yeah ok. The challenge does make it funny. On the other hand, this entire house has all the red flags needed for the CPS to get involved, so I’m now invested in seeing how long that science baby stays in the family before the game removes them.

vlad feeding on you was definitely a bit of an awkward moment rofl. did you know that if you lock your door, the vampire can't get in and just stands outside waiting until you wake up? also, they can mesmerize you through walls so if your bed is next to a wall they can access they can make you walk out to them. my inner spellcaster is horrified that you're throwing away the burnt stuff when you could repario it :\ although i understand that you might think it's too easy that way. and yes, you lose money placing items on the lot instead of selling straight from your household inventory. but again, reparing it to make it feel legit is understandable. i love your new wheel! it definitely makes this challenge much harder than it would be otherwise and i enjoy the depth it adds to your gameplay :) some highlights from my own attempt at this challenge combo (going on day three): - i gave my sim (socially awkward, loner, bookworm to start, later lazy and im TRYING to get geek ugh) a nice little house and plopped down a rocket and a dumpster right away. i didnt feel like doing another true rags to riches and just used the 18k i got from bulldozing the lot to build a nice, workable house (i did decide to go jobless until i had removed every lot challenge, though). however, i have a bug where every time i leave the lot all the curtains end up in the household inventory. no curtains for me -_- - i decided right off the bat that i would not remove prairie grass because that was easy gardening stuffs (and nectar) and i would only remove gremlins after my handiness hit 10 - don and my sim dove for thrills in the dumpster, easy-peasy - ate pufferfish nigiri at the romance festival, also easy-peasy (i have only ever had one sim die to this dish - just be very confident and you're fine) - vlad decided to be difficult and died during my first week. i have never had that happen before; i think i stared at the message for at least a minute in pure shock. like, wtf vlad. so i had to use a LittleMsSam mod to get his urn (couldnt find it on his lot) and place it on my lot. apparently he blushed himself to death...is that a thing if you're very flirty or very embarrassed, i can't tell. so he's an extra ghost that haunts me now. - vlad was also difficult to get to know. i had no patience for his hissing and decided to cheat us to friends and used social bunny to up the relationship. your decision to stargaze with him feels much more natural and im kinda upset that my vlad wouldnt go for it when my sim asked him to cloudgaze >.< - i made my sim a spellcaster and practically lived in the magic realm full time until i had at least scruberoo and repario (i did not use the latter spell on electronics or plumbing until i had my handiness to 10, though). i napped on the couches (no bed or sleeping bag) and i only cooked food i could cook back on my lot (so fruit salads, mainly. i had the strawberries). i did use the shower there, though. - i dueled the sages all the time trying to get curse of the nightwraith and it just. would. not. HAPPEN. i got the curse of awkward hugs (not so bad, i hugged simeon a lot), the curse of the duelist (would not have been bad if anyone had actually dueled me during that....), the curse of hostility TWICE (i hate that one so much, SO inconvenient thank god for decursify), and the curse of scrambled spells (also not that bad, spells backfire more often and raises your chance of getting cursed. pity it didnt do much while i had it >:| ). i also died and had to reload the game several times (this is why we save before doing anything dangerous, folks). after several in-game weeks, i finally got the night wraith curse by doing a basic scruberoo on the stove. i was already a virtuoso by the time the curse dropped. i was literally holding back on my perk points trying to keep myself as an average duelist. w. t. f. - drowning an enemy in the pool was actually very simple. i fought a paparazzi and took them with me back to my place (i love that feature). wasnt entirely sure how to go about this, so i tried to make them uncomfy by inferniating them (also i think hygiene goes up slightly when swimming, so motivation to swim? maybe?). i couldnt swim with them in the pool (cuz enemies) so took my sim back into the house to work on other things. house doors are locked to household only, so the other sim just hung around outside. eventually he went into the pool \o/ but i blew it cuz i didnt think they could climb out without a ladder and he left (i feel lied to). dragged him back home with me again and this time when he went into the pool i built walls around it. added a second gravestone next to vlads >:D also got to meet the grim reaper yay! (he's high maintenance and hates the color black, why) - made a greenhouse and locked patchy in there. i filled it with money-making plants since i didnt have simple living on anymore. two large planters of dragonfruit, one large planter of spliced dragonfruit for the cowberries, one large planter of orchids, two of those eco wall planters with bird of paradise, and two small pots of deathflower (thank you realm of magic) (also why did i never know you can plant tomatos???). i did not count this money as part of a side hustle, more on that in a bit - i decided to do what you're doing in regards to the grilled cheese aspiration. i thought bringing a grilled cheese in a packed lunch would count for the "eat a grilled cheese in space" bit and had to run back home from geekcon to quickly cook up another. then i tried to kill a bunch of sims at a kava party with pufferfish nigiri so i could meet grim again (because you cant invite him over to your lot. i feel like this should be a thing). however i already had cooking at 10 and every dish was excellent. i had three cooked up, called everyone to a meal a bunch of times. some were obviously spooked from a brush with death, but no actual deaths. much sadness. so i repeated the pool trick on a random sim that didnt get along with my sim and had married judith (she deserved better). i'm gonna need a bigger cemetary. - i didnt hit up the forgotton grotto until well after i had my handiness to 10 (kept forgetting). my sim has a selfie wall now cuz that place is just so pretty - for the side hustle, those always confused me. i did a google and apparently while make money from a source other than a proper career counts in reality, to actually tick off the aspiration milestone "reach level three of a side hustle" from the goal oriented aspiration you need to be part of either of hsy's part-time jobs simfluencer or video game streamer. so any money i made from my garden or other sources (such as that very lovely dumpster) did not count towards the 1k simoleons for the checklist. i had removed all the lot challenges by now and had my sim become a video game streamer. wasnt sure if i should count the bonus simoleons you get with the promotions, so i kept her at it until her actual paychecks added up to 1k. - the rocketship took a while (i didnt actually start building the damn thing for literal weeks in-game because the other stuff kept me so busy). i did eventually start it and then VLAD of all people popped up and decided he wanted to work on it. i had my sim help him and we finished it together :) upgrading was a bit of a pain, but i burgliated a 10k computer from the Laandgrabs then my garden took off and now my sim has so much money. made it to sixam after at least another week or so of upgrading because like hell was i flying around in a ship that wasnt completely tricked out lol. the alien base was completely empty btw, why was that? i have another game with a scientist sim and when he went to sixam (via wormhole) the base was fully decorated (albeit very bad decorations but still). - the only things i have left to do are to have twins/triplets (working on herbalism for the fertility elixir and my sim has the fertile trait already. this is gonna be done dead last, i am not dealing with babies any sooner than i have to in this game lol), raise a sim from the dead (not using dedeathify, gonna do the ambrosia since this was listed as part of the basegame portion. im thinking to bring both guidry and vlad back), and befriend the talking toilet (i have both of them in my house, fully upgraded, and neither of them are on my friends list HOW DO I DO THIS). - as for removing the haunted house, decided to get the brave trait (done), max the medium skill (done), max the paranormal investigator career (i have it, but i dont think there's a cap on it? it's just endless promotions for more money afaik so i'll have to think on when to end this), befriend both guidry (done) and bonehilda (gonna do that next), and woohoo either guidry (definitely, prob gonna have babies with him too once i rez him) or bonehilda (i'll do this just to get them both but i prefer guidry lol). also i think i should become friends with temperance, maybe woohoo her as well, but we'll see how well this goes. social bunny to the rescue, perhaps? (is she even woohooable?) also, she apparently has 6 traits. like, wut. even guidry still only has 3. ALSO, you can use a hand statue from the paranormal pack to up the difficulty of the haunted house for more satisfaction points ;D tl;dr i had some very interesting moments, temperance is a pain in my keister, and plz for the love of god someone give me tips on befriending a toilet

I think with the wheel, you should risk having to add things back also besides removing them. Maybe keep the options on the wheel, and if you land on them again, you have to add them back. This would also make things more difficult. Just an idea. Love your videos.

I love that you're doing this every lot challenge again. I think you should give Pelham back his fishing job & that for your self-sim you can spin a wheel to pick a career/play a career you've never done (Law?). As for the side hustle I'd like to see candle making or you can hack the $1000.

Oooh the outing at the Spice Festival killed me. I kept thinking: use the bathroom at the karaoke place for bladder and multiple hand washings. Then nap and eat at the festival lot. Then pick the plants!! Ahhhhh!

In order to "Fight the paparazzi", I say you have to be a celebrity. If you are just mean to them and get a negative relationship, you can fight any sim. If you are a celebrity, you can automatically "fight the paparazzi" explicitly without having a negative relationship first. I think that is the intent of that challenge.

There isn't a challenge in the sims 24 involving werewolves (one of my favourite let's plays you did.) I'd LOVE it if in your negative wheel spins you have something involving Greg! (Maybe instead of maxing out the medium skill?) Absolutely loving this so far! It's so good to see a player loving the game despite all it's flaws. There are many of us who do and it's becoming rare to see positive players in this gaming space. Thank you so much 🥰

Side hustle idea: Plopsy. It would be a challenge because stuff doesnt always sell. With a food stand/ stall of some kind it would be super easy to make 1k plopsy would be more of a challenge.

If you get Scrubaroo as a Spellcaster you can use it on yourself as well to clean yourself up in place of a shower. Also, if you collect water you'll be able to take normal baths, rather than off the grid ones. OH and your salad probably got thrown out because it went off: you need to Add Ice to your fridge when off the grid to keep things fresher for longer.

My fave side hustle/free money: Make several near-future holidays whose only activity is Egg Hunt. Find eggs all over your house and sell 'em. Free money! You'll find eggs in kitchen counters, fridges, beds, living chairs, couches, baths, toilets, mailboxes, others I can't remember.

Not me yelling "GO HARVEST, GO HARVEST" for the 2 seconds he was inspired at the spice festival. It's scary how invested I am in this.

I gotta say, this is a lot more entertaining than trying to work around the bugs in rent to riches! I thought they'd release a bug fixing patch for the anniversary week but it was just the dang SDX without _any_ fixes 🙄

There is a repair spell as a spellcaster (Repario or something) and you can use that to fix all damaged objects from the dumpsters! I do believe this counts as you need to both be a spellcaster and learn the specific spell (and it can fail!) which is the same amount of work as other methods to fix up those objects, this one is just more convenient for you since you need spellcaster for another objective and it gives you something to use magic with so you can get the Night Wraith curse from failing

Woodworking for a side hustle would also get handiness up which you need for getting into the forgotten grotto

I'd like to see Semaj try out the Odd Jobs that you can get by using the phone. No one ever does them, so it would be a good change of pace. Another idea is to add the Maintenance Troubles to the home lot once you can get rid of Haunted House, or add it to Haunted House or maybe even a Retail lot with a mod.
