Looks great, but I’d suggest adding the chicken wire to that spot by the fence. Billy might not be able to get out that way, but he may get stuck behind there. I’d be paranoid lol

If you guys can successfully complete a project like this, you can probably work your way thru almost anything and still be together! Congrats to you both and congrats to Billy for having a catio built with love. It looks so spacious and inviting. I'm sure Billy will be a little more patient about getting his catio furniture and scratching stations. Maybe the side against the wood fence could be a designer wall adorned with some of Billy's favorite home decor. I'm confident he'll let you know! Cheers!

You need perches and shelves and a bird feeder in yard so he can look at birds . Cats like climbing.

Well done! Make sure you give Billy a (waterproof probably sensibly) shelter he can really hide in too and think how you’re going to keep warm in the winter when he wants to be outside and you want the window shut 😆

Amazing project, but just wishing you had treated the wood with preserver. Guess you can do it over next few months so it will last. Big hugs to you both xx

You both did an amazing job and Billy seemed to be loving it. I'd love to see an update once the furniture is in. I think you've made a very responsible decision for Billy by building him a catio. He's probably never going to be a street smart cat and could end up in all sorts of trouble if he was given free rein. The only point I wanted to make was that I would put a lock on the bottom of the door as well so that he can't push it open and squeeze through. Maybe you've already done this though so forgive me if that is the case? Well done to you both xx 😽

Build a cat grass box he will love that and w all that rain I would def stain all the wood and maybe put a polycarbonate roof on it!! I love my catio I have climbing poles, perches, plants, chairs for me to sit in the catio w my cats! Around it on the outside I planted plants to attract butterflies, bird feeders/baths etc so my cats can watch but not harm them n etc!!! A great channel on KZfaq to check out is chirpy cats she did an amazing catio

We’ve got a Bengal and she was supposed to be a house cat but she had other ideas !!! The harness wasn’t a great success so we do allow her outside time but not overnight. It is a worry but she loves being outside so it wouldn’t feel fair to deny her that freedom.
