According to what Marr says in his autobiography, he played the bass in this song as well.

we lost our four-year-old boy a year ago to cancer; i spent many long nights at his bedside caring for him. the sorrow this song conjures in my heart--beyond all dreams

I’m so very sorry for your loss 💝 The same happens to me when I listen to “I know it’s over” I lost my son 17 years ago when he was just 18 months old. It’s still so very painful.

So sorry to hear that. Omg, Is it hard to hear it today? My heart goes out to you. March, 2 yrs ago, I lost my best friend and thought it would help in the morning process to make a video in remembrance. I did Well I Wonder and Asleep. They came out beautiful but now I cant even hear the two songs.. So sad.

this is absolutely 100% their best song. i love the smiths so so so much. their lyrics are written as if shakespeare kissed morrisseys pen, like, really. and i think it’s beautiful because though most of their songs aren’t about girls and stuff, when it is, it’s beautiful. it’s not like “she’s pretty” “she’s cute”, it’s like then analyzing her in every way and writing about her life and certain interactions and stuff. AND. especially how much they talk about eyes. this song, jeane, etc etc. beautiful

Johnny was 'inspired' by Patti Smith's "Kimberly", it's extremely clear in this version :)

Maybe that's why they called themselves The Smiths.
@holdencaulfield4230
@holdencaulfield4230 Жыл бұрын
@@1967born nope, Marr wrote in his autobiography that the name was chosen from a couple of other names proposed by Morrissey because it made clear their intent to be "common", claiming a certain banality in that period where everything was "excessive". They therefore chose the surname most used in England.
