Күн бұрынHey everyone, Rach here! I’ve got some news to share… This is my last episode of Project Profit! It’s been an amazing ride, and I’m so thankful for all your love and support. I’m proud to say we’ve donated $3,500 in profits to some incredible charities through the DIYs in this series. For my last episode, follow along to see how I create this gorgeous tiled console table and make sure you stick around until the end for a heart-warming surprise.
I’m definitely going to miss Project Profit, but don’t worry-I’m not going anywhere! Stick around because I have a new series coming up where I’ll be turning my cozy new loft apartment rental into my dream home. Can’t wait to share this next adventure with you all!

Its to push in the algorithm, not for existing subscribers. The Try Guys have spoken how the algorithm buries videos that don't hit a certain criteria which means their videos lose money. We don't want that to happen to The Sorry Girls do we? Because this is a youtube problem over a creator problem.

@@amandakesterson224THIS! I think the Try Guys did a great job explaining that in order for KZfaq to even push your content that you have to not only have your consistent watch time, but you have a certain amount of new growth/eyes for the algorithm to push it.

@@jacforswear18 conscious consumerism. they very thing this channel promotes. remember the workshop floor episode when they watched old diys? when they said the reason they realized dollar store challenges are wasteful was because the audience told them? if creators are shielded from even the slightest bit of criticism, they will never grow or learn.

@@jacforswear18 i’m sorry, but this is just backwards, and kinda childish. you don’t owe a positive opinion to anyone, much less a for-profit company whose primary product is these very videos. you might think it’s inoffensive, but just because you don’t care or don’t understand the effect doesn’t mean nobody else does. it is not up to you to decide what marketing moves bother others. criticism is a vital part of consuming any media, and it doesn’t mean you don’t like it, it means the exact opposite. nobody has to uncritically like anything a company puts out, that would be a cult, not a youtube channel.

just saftey note - silica dust is quite dangerous to your lungs, so if you're sanding ceramic tile, you should always wear a mask or do it wet :)

Plus totally unnecessary. They make corner edging that gets attached to the corner before tile is placed so there is an equal grout line on either side of the corner. It comes in all colors, textures, and styles like a rounded corner.

I like "Rachel's Rental" for the new series name. It is similar to "project profit", which gives it such a you vibe. Please don't do clickbait episode titles, though. I watch this channel to relax, not to go "WAIT WHAT oh no it's fine actually". Love the piece and I can't wait to see it in your apartment!

The console table turned out to be perfect. This series was quite unique and creative. Perfect end to the series with Rachel getting a souvenir and also quite generous of the Sorry girls to match the donation. Excited for the next chapter.

The new series could be called “Renter friendly Rachel”, since Kelsey and Becky are now owners, the renter friendly videos are out of the content, but a lot of us started following you for the renter friendly content.

Very appreciated! -- Personally, I don't appreciate being mislead into thinking Rach was leaving. Hope that the clickbaity titles and thumbnails are not here to stay. I love the project, though! The pink tiles look phenomenal as the leg pillars of the table. Looking forward to seeing Rach transform her new place, as well and where the table will find its spot. It was super sweet of the team to buy it for her.

The comments are absolutely wild. The parasocial relationships and subsequent entitlement from this viewer base is unbelievable. I would have thought the people watching these videos were adults but they seem like poorly regulated middle schoolers.

It's important to leave feedback as a subscriber if the channel is doing something we don't like, so that it doesn't become the norm and lead to a loss in viewership. That's it. (Also, it's totally fine to get emotional over something you like potentially changing. If people were just like "eh, whatever" about Rachel possibly leaving, I'm sure none of Team TSG would feel very good about that. They treat their viewers like a community of people and not just eyeballs and clicks, and being sad about someone leaving that community is not weird and entitled.)

Been watching this channel for years, I think maybe the reason why people got upset about the clickbait aspect is because this is a channel we watch to relax - for some people (like me) having our general anxiety triggered by something false in a space that is usually stress free is a little jarring. Truly not the end of the world, and obviously not everyone will feel this way. I think even with the changed title, I felt that “jump scare” because it looked like one of the cast was hugging folks goodbye. Parasocial or not I think we are all a bit invested in your lives and like to see you all on our screens, so it’s hard to have our feelings messed with like that. Obviously these are low stakes but life is already stressful enough so I hope this is something the team takes into consideration in the future. Maybe as an audience many of us are more sensitive than expected - obviously you are not villains and deserve some grace. Just know that many of us care about your lives and careers, and want the best for you all - so the clickbait triggered some feels! For me too lol.

I’m sure there’s lots of engagement on this video because people are upset at the clickbait which is unfortunate. Clickbait is dishonest and I don’t think this channel is dishonest nor would it want to be seen by its long time or new subscribers as dishonest. If it was a mistake or bad judgement, make it right.

So sweet, doing that for Rachel. I am adding another voice of caution. PLEASE wear a mask or wet it down when creating dust with ceramics!!! It’s better to wet sand them and to mop up! Keep the dust down. Breathing it in is SOOOOO hazardous to your lungs!

There are other ways to ask your community to partner for higher channel and video engagement than clickbaiting us. Other creators have had quick candid conversations of ‘hey, if you get a notification if you can just comment with an emoji that is huge for our reach and making sure we don’t get defeated by the algorithim!’ Treating us like partners and collaborators rather than data points to be duped (because that clickbait ONLY works on your dedicated audience) does wonders for expressing that you value your committed following.

Yup, this will be my next project once I can find some subway tile on FB marketplace. I started the thread lamp shade a while back and just finished it! It's not as good as Rachel's, but I'm still pleased with myself. Hopefully I feel the same way about this next project. Super excited to tile something!

Anyone wondering what the comments are going on about- they first titled it “my last project” (insinuating Rachel was leaving). But then they changed to this one. Dont know if its just be but I have noticed sometimes they post a video title, then a few hours later change it. Eg when I look at the notification and note to myself to watch, then I go back after work looking for it- only for it to look different (can’t remember which other one they did it for - but it wasn’t as click baity as this)

Rachel has added a wonderful and caring warmth with the project and gifting the funds to charity is amazing. I think Rachel’s rental program will tap into a lot people’s needs. Rachel’s work has always been neat and beautifully executed. Her style is so different and accessible. So sweet that the table was given to her. That’s very nice.

When Rachel mentioned not being able to tile in her rental, it reminded me of some of the amazing DIY removable backsplashes Team AG has done in their rental makeovers. Tiling over a board and temporarily securing to the wall under cabinets for example. I would love to see her attempt something like this!

Mapei has actually a really nice orange grout in this product line as well. Do they not carry all the color options in Canada? It is like terracotta pretty much, I used it when I tiled the top of my son's nightstand along with white hexagon tiles. :)
