Swift slash is such a problem that when a guy saw me spawn in with backhands he instantly swapped to swift slash and stunlocked and later said "Couldn't risk it"

i ahte hardswapping, makes the game turn into clown fiesta where people can carry 15 weapons, 20 armor sets, and 15 rings. Kinda wish they locked gear while in combat so weight cap meant something.

Somehow, FromSoft made PvP worse…

All I F’ing wanted was a fix to arena matchmaking and an pve area capable of 6 people lobbies.

Any amount of latency makes the milady have insane phantom range. It's scary asf not knowing the safety range.

The addition of hefty fetid pots was for people who are using blind spot and swift slash.

The moment people are loosing they pull out swift slash, or blind spot to "even out the score" and then switch back to their regular build once its even again. Some people are just so bitter

PvE wise, the DLC is amazing. PvP wise... It literally just exacerbated all the main problems with PvP in the base game: ash of war spamming, soceries and incantations being too strong, hyper armour trades and ganking are even worse now. Still no 8 multiplayer limit and still no covenants. This is sad for the longevity of the game and its multiplayer aspects. I have nothing but good words for the PvE. Its beautiful, hard, unique and fun. But the PvP might just die after this.

I got locked out of swift slash on my playthrough cause I didn’t wanna rat my boy Hornsent out. I’m actually glad, because I will never be tempted to use that cancerous shit.

Ds2 pvp > elden ring pvp

Armour of solitude gets the beast armour treatment when you remove the cape it actual gets heavier and has less poise. Thanks fromsoft

So many things just straight up have no counter

I find it so funny that 2 years ago the community was vehemently debating what the agreed upon level should be for pvp (125v150) only for the DLC to come out and literally render all of it pointless. This was my first Souls game and PvP kept me into Elden Ring on/off since launch but at this point I think I can safely put this game down once I'm done with DLC PvE because a good portion of this stuff is just straight up out of the mod animations which is cool for PvE but a nightmare for PvP.

PSA. If your opponent is using death knights twin axes, you can hit them right when they finish the blinkbolt part of the ash of war. Easy R2 trades, blinkbolt itself does like no damage.

Arena feels like a fever dream after an hour

Dunno if anyone will see this but thinking a bit I thought "Light greatswords have issues with breaking poise...so why not use cragblade on it?" Im not sure it'd be efective, but if it worked and it reliably broke poise, it could make the weapon way deadlier

Remember being exited about the patch a day before the dlc released, many weapons were nerfed like Moonveil, Dual Spears, etc A day later this happens lol

Its nice bringing feints back into meta now from ds3 specifically for this swift slash

By the way the weapon buff transfer bug is back with some dlc weapons, like the madness torch or throwing shield

A weapon that I learned that counters that shield + back hit is the ordovis greatsword ash of war. It has phenomenal tracking while having enough hyper armor to hit them during their attack. Had a guy spam that move at me while I spammed my ordovis gs AoW and I won every trade

Remember to have the new shotgun crossbow with sleep arrow ready to use for counter playing these cancer AOW spammers. Pull it out when you see them, don't use it against other normal players, they deserve respect.

The one thing I can say about most of the cool new weapon types, they have no hyper armor, so you can trade them with colossal or great swords. If they didn't do as much poise damage in return they wouldn't be that bad, but stamp actually trades with them depending on the recovery time or if you do a light attack.

I was cooking normal ash of war spammers with my Flail right and then there's this guy called SAMURAI-KATANA who starts off with some Thunderbolt spam, then stun locks you with Night Claws AOW and then Swift Slash in that order. Then after he kills you there goes the point down. That's just cringe

What is new pvp level cup for comfortable pvp ? 150 ? 175 ?

I recommend piercing fang on a secondary weapon. Since it negates shields of any kind and most are not smart enough to realise that i can poke through shields

Swift slash, blindspot, that sleep arrow crossbow combo, the bow that just shoots multiple arrows nonstop, and those twin golden axes are the most annoying things in pvp.

For me Arena has been just about 50/50 cool and unique new builds or the most brain dead, shameless swift slash/ blind spot/ etc. spam. People swapping to swift slash when they’re losing is also very real, from soft pranked us real good this time

they need to nerf the damage of those crap by like 50% and double the FP they take to use, its boring to have noobs teleporting all over doing free damage.

coming back to the arena after 2 years with the dlc unfinished feels like trying to use several cannons to compete with an AC130 gunship. but in a good way, ive actually won a few times. nobody expects you to randomly waterfowl while powerstancing scythes, its shockingly effective against some of these long animation skills

the arena right now is so flashy and dramatic. im like how far are ppl in the dlc because im still trying to find some cool spells for my spellblade 😩 only found two spells and two intelligence weapons

I don't want to play any high-level pvp anymore because the DLC weapons are just overpowered and unfair. They literally just made pre-nerf bloodhound's fang but even stronger.

I'm in love with the new faith items, some awesome new incants but the weapons! Oh god I love Spear of the Impaler, Leda's Sword and Sword of Light. People get so pissed when you remove their buffs with Leda's Sword and Impaler is just unfair with it's ash of war and funny with the charged throw to counter people using shit like dragon breaths. Sword of Light buffs all holy damage too so it's nice to pair with Leda's. I've trolled so many people with Miquella's Light too, hide behind a pillar in the area and cast it when they try to come and attack you. Works way more then it has any right to lol. Messmer's Orb is a nice combo mix up after a stun when they think they can just roll away and Knight's Lightning Spear is such a nice work horse incant that can trade hits no problem. That's only the stuff I got to play around with last night when I finally felt ready for PvP again after beating the DLC. Have yet to mess around with some of the standard weapons and ash of wars.

He’s like the skilled version of those dudes who are always trying to hit you as soon as you load in duels😂 they never bow, they just start running around spamming block and crouch as if they’re a naraka movement god😂 if you play pvp games you know that everytime you pressure your opponent, it puts them in a disadvantageous mindset. They wonder why their fights seem so easy and they’re not even allowing them to be ready to fight back. It might just be me, but if my opponent can’t or doesn’t fight back, the game just isn’t fun. I don’t understand how they can play 20 seconds duels all the time and not get bored.

I love coming back to souls pvpers every once in a while just to see if they still complain about literally everything. To date, I have never been disappointed. It's not an Esport, it's a fun addition to a primarily story driven PvE game, have some fun lmao.

Honestly im loving the arena now at SL 150. I just wish there were more maps with a little verticality and that other games besides duels got matches

Yea the state of the pvp in elden ring is terrible. Everyone is running around with the op bugged shit. I remember playing day one of the dlc and it was amazing. But now that all the op shit is so spread. Its such a hassle and annoyance. I like to play with friends not to gank or wait for invaders but to treat it as a inbetween duel during a area and its sad everyone resorts to swift strike.

right then, i just have to share this. i was in my TT on world and got invaded by someone. i shot him a message, when i finally found him and exchanged greetings, that i didnt have the DLC so i didnt have any of the weapons and new armours to fight and test with. not even 5 minutes later i get a notification from my Xbox that i got gifted the DLC by this man. Absolute bloody legend.
