LNER A1 60163 Tornado has flattened many a hill in the Northwest over the last ten years and this is footage taken from 2010 to 2020 that shows the Peppercorn at speed over Beattock, The Settle & Carlisle ,Copy Pit and the West Coast Mainline .Title should say 2010 -2020 not 2011-2020 .

Tornado glides past you effortlessly regardless of its load, speed and regulator position; like the world's largest ever sewing machine. She is a magnificent tribute to the original Peppercorn design and also to today's modern and triumphant re-engineering. This is a classic example what has always put the "Great" into Great Britain. Long live all those wonderful engineers, craftsmen and journeymen. I am proud of what all of you have achieved over the generations of British railway history and really appreciate Steve bringing many wonderful memories back to life as we sit comfortably at home restin our creaking joints in our reclining armchairs. Sewing machines, we no longer are!

Super great video 👍 I wonder.. There seems to be many old trains in your country - and not just 3-4 wagons, but like 10-12 or 14 pr train 😁 That's great 👍 But how do you guys have the resources to keep them running? For just 1 single wagon there's a lot of service and stuff.. And what about the machine? Does it have any specific security system on it, so that they can go that fast? Or is it just allowed whitout any? In Denmark our old trains are not allowed to go more than 70 km/t whitout a system called "ATC" (soon to be replaced with a newer system).

Thanks Rasmus, the tours are operated and serviced by different operators plus they have various systems incorporated to the engines to stop anything happening that shouldn’t 🤞
