Holy cow, cell phones and internet are what makes this time so great! I lived those days without those and computers, etc. and the awful inconvenience looking back sucked and in some cases was downright dangerous.

So glad you posted the remastered version, with the restored sections The original theatrical release was mangled by small cuts, 17 minutes of them, and panned by critics. Even the restored version is not really a great film...but it is a very well made political and social drama, like SYRIANA. And so pertinent to today’s world. Should be watched for that reason alone. Made in 1975 and released a year later, it predates the Camp David accords. Sean Connery plays a great Arab, like he did in Wind and the Lion (I know, that character was a Berber). Cornelia Sharpe is exquisite. If you blink a few times, you imagine we are in Bond territory again, especially when they go to the Bahamas. It even has Adolpho Celi as a heavy. Highly recommend as an example of 70’s risk taking in film making!

There is a whole different sense of time and space that is present in movies from the 70's and early 80's that I really appreciate. It lends a more expansive 'presence of mind' to the viewer and makes me feel like I remember myself back in those days. Very good film. I found myself wishing that the video was not so soft, but still really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Great film, but sadly the quality is quite poor. An Arab diplomat with a Scottish accent is an awful casting. @50:00 “I’m a stranger in a foreign land and there’s many things I don’t know. But I do know where I can get a good Martini.”🤣 That’s enough for me, Shame it was a good story ruined. 6/10

Excellent film. Reminds me of "Day of the Jackal." Interesting how this 1976 film discusses so many of the globalist issues that are still relevant today. The "King Kong" film clip was a very clever and interesting foreshadowing of the inevitable conclusion as also predicted by the movie title, "The Next Man" - we just didn't know when and where it would happen until the final minutes - it was beauty that killed the beast.

The relentless labyrinth of Power and Greed and those who pull the strings, sending others to do their dirty work......almost wooden, in their dissociation from their acts. Persian Sean is well-cast... and yeah, as you can see with the attractive Hit-Lady.....in the end, they Hit her too. So, the message is, the more you know and do, the more of a threat you become. In the end, an Expendable. The shadowy ones at the top, must never be seen. No loose ends. === The whole thing is an exercise in uselessness, with money as the driving force. Puppets on a Stage, all. Dupes of devils. ....and the devils snicker and sneer, at how easy it is to beguile humans with Money and destroy them all. Whilst chewing on their bloody Popcorn.

I usually despise movies that recite the name of the movie as part of the dialogue, but since the phrase was historically accurate, they had no choice but to say it. Reciting the title of a movie, as part of the movie's dialogue, is as unforgiveable as an actor forgetting to NEVER look directly into the camera.

I like Connery but not for this movie.Perhaps some other choices like Omar Sharif,Peter Sellers or Anthony Quinn.I was confused at first,thinking that Connery was planted amongst the Saudis as a western agent.Then I realized that he was actually an Arab from the oil cartel in Saudi.Anyway beautiful Cornelia Sharpe as the assassin held my interest.❤

It's quaint to look back at a time when Western audiences were expected to be able to identify with a Saudi minister, even if he was played by Sean Connery. That extended shot of the Twin Towers around 29:25 is unintentionally chilling.

A blast from the past! Sean was very convincing as Saudi minister. The minister in real life might have studied at Oxford, or such. Thus his accent would been Brittish. This story ties in with present times as Palistinian/Hamas and Houtis terrorize the middle east.

What is the redeeming value of any flick? + treachery is not the greatest sin. I think stormie, you have a very narrow focus and should consider opening up a bit more of your narrow mindedness so as to not make a fool of yourself with such posts.
