I adore Eunice, but whenever I see the quantity she has and how overwhelming it is, it's a great reminder the importance of how the stuff you own can end up owning you: your time, your space, your money, your sanity. We live in such a material world, it's basically counterintuitive not to buy at this point. Probably even harder for an influencer like Eunice who receives PR packages. Great job April, and thank you Eunice for once again allowing us into your home.

I like Eunice too and I'm not interesting in flames and all that, but we really need to use other people' experiences to understand what we are doing wrong... in 50 years we trashed and destroyed the world, there is no point in recycling if we dont stop producind and mostly buying... it broke my heart seeing the last episode with food to throw away... all those beautiful candies and sweets (I have a sweet tooth)...if I were there I'd have eaten everything, not cos I'm poor or I dont have to eat, just because I see the beauty of all those things and cant stand to see them go to the waste people think I'm cheap and I proudly am 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎I dont have to explain myself to others and Eunice dont have to do to us.... I dont think Eunice (or other people ) do it on purpose or with a bad heart.... for some it is impossible to see not because they are bad or not caring, but if u r not interested or not educated to see, u will never do... sorry Eunice ❤❤❤❤❤❤

How much of a problem is the sun there in a space like a closet? Where I live, if you left winter wear, especially something black, hanging for a season next to a window it would be half grey and half black after a season of hanging by a window.

@daCubanaqt 3 күн бұрын
I learned the hard way that having a window in your closet is not a good thing. Anything close to the window will get sun bleached. I would put up a light blocking curtain honestly.

Organizing a closet w/that amount of clothing is hard, but I think it’s harder when it’s someone else’s stuff. You made a lot of progress for the first go round. I realized that keeping my closet straight became soooo much easier when I got rid of much of my clothing. ((It was so hard, because I was worried about needing it “someday”, but I didn’t). Now my closet isn’t overwhelming and the door closes without using body weight against it.😄

I used to be a clothes hog. When my husband passed away suddenly I moved in with my daughter and her husband..along with 3 granddaughters. I had my own room with two nice sized closets but not nearly as much space as I was used to. I went hard core…tried on every piece of clothing, if it didn’t fit or wasn’t my color anymore it went to donation box. I feel so much lighter. I’m in an apartment now with a large walk-in closet. However, it has to house my clothes, shoes, purses, linens and memorabilia. It’s great to be down to one closet only. I’m OCD about how I organize my closet…pants, t-shirts, blouses, by length of sleeve and by color. My sweaters are folded in clear containers. We have much longer spring, summer, fall and very short winter.

I needed this video today. My small house is a literal disaster: unfinished construction bathroom rehab bled into guest room as a dumping zone. My closet got pulled apart...piles everywhere. This is an excellent reminder. Drinking my ☕ as I watch and plan where to start. Thank you!!

Knowing Eunice through her reactions to previous organizations videos, she will be inspired to edit her closet further now. What a transformation! Just a thought; would it be possible to add a bar to the "fire" room and hang the winter coats in there?

Great job April! It's a great strategy to just put the stuff that's irritating or will slow you down to the side for later.... it's not cheating it's just being efficient with the energy that you do have. I hope this helped Eunice feel less overwhelmed and more towards excitement for her new closet.

April’s TSD “Space Maker” t-shirts are THE BEST!! They are so soft!! They make a great form of motivation. It’s my new Decluttering Superhero uniform. It is cool to wear when lugging “stuff” around, and black covers the appearance of anything that can show stress (I’m thinking - as in - “no sweat” marks). And, it ships so fast. I’m thinking of getting more as mine motivates me to think “WWAD?” (What Would April Do?). 😊 I love how you organize. I could work beside you so easily as we seem to problem solve the same way. It is too true that this is a process. Right now you are at onion level 2. The outside level (level 1) was when she was at the last place and moving over to here. It was looking at the outside and deciding which “onion” to take. Now that she is at level 2, she can see this level of the onion…all of the cells are aligned (like with like). Level 3 is when tears start to sting a bit. At level 3 deep, she’ll realize what she needs to really declutter more. But, with your wonderful support, she won’t find it too stressful. I love watching this process and I totally understand your pain. Great music April. All the best from your Canadian friend. 🇨🇦 😊

If it makes you feel any better April, today my other half and I organised the "troll hole"... this is the old coal shed that's outside our front door where we keep our DIY, paint, tools etc. It's a low ceiling, damp, full of dirt, cobwebs and spiders scarey space so a really grim place to spend time but it's now got 3 clear weatherproof bins and we know what is in them. Trust me, I'd rather have done a closet...even Eunice's 😂 x Great work and on the 2nd pass, we all know you'll make it so beautiful 🎉

It's so good to have a friend who knows your needs and organizes accordingly. Everyone is different. When I moved and wanted to deal with less things in the process of moving, I packed a capsule of sorts for the next two seasons plus a few pieces for the year as if imagining I would never unpack the rest of my things in time for the seasonal change. I also had capsules for kitchen, bedroom, etc, so that I only had a few boxes to unpack after moving and could postpone the rest for later. It turned out to be a good thing so I could pace myself.

Overwhelming! Stressful! And absolutely satisfying😊 I imagine Eunice will feel like she's been on a shopping spree and has a massive haul - all those clothes she couldn't get to now out and available. I feel like that when I get out my winter clothes vacuum bag, and here Eunice has closets of clothes all suddenly there for the wearing. Also, thank you for keeping in the emotional turmoil of making decision after decision and dealing with an enormous numbers of items - because that roller coaster is very relatable. Moments where the flow seems to sweep through and everything comes along beautifully - then a bag of assorted stuff or a hanger with four items on it hits you and the thought of having to even take one item off the hanger feels like climbing a mountain - I felt that through the screen - and I was so relieved when you popped those hangers away for later.

Maybe use the honeycomb organisers for underwear. And konmari style folding. If the seasons there are distinct, better to not use any hanging space for non-seasonal items. Just keep it in totes/baskets in that extra room.

Having not lived in Korea or a high rise style apartment building before its interesting to me that there are windows in the closet! Is that common? All of the apartments I've lived in (and houses too, actually) closets have been windowless. Thanks to Eunice for allowing us to see part of one's life when it gets too much to handle but things still need to be done so, we can ask for help because we don't have to do it alone! And thanks to you April for showing us step by step on how to keep going even if it's not perfect to others because the important thing is to keep finding our "perfect" way at our own pace not matter how many times we change our "perfect" way. WOW!! What a job! I enjoy watching and I appreciate the encouragement to stay focused on what is giving us positive motivation and to set aside the draining tasks. I have had to remember over the years as I tackle big projects to stay nourished and hydrated 😊It’s a lot of moving! I would find myself irritable or slow moving and realize I had neglected a meal. I would also like to give some advice to those who have a closet window: sunlight will bleach clothing. The off season storage near the window can be draped. Using a tablecloth or sheet over the rod will protect your clothing from direct sunlight. I love how you are respectful of others rights to not be a minimalist . This is one of the reasons I enjoy watching, your sweet ways. Thanks again, for your advice and encouragement, by walking us through your decisions and accomplishments!

All my sweaters are also folded onto hangers. Good thing you're tall 😅. Because I have so much less than Eunice 😅, on 1 wall, I have on the top: sweaters, all tops solid colour white to black, all tops with prints white to black, bottom: pants, leggings, all bamboo clothing white to black. I feel like this was less calming than other videos, I kept wanting you to just take a 10 minute break, drink some ice water and breathe lol. I think you did (and always do a remarkable job). However, if things start to hurt or you're feeling overwhelmed, for long periods of time, maybe forgo the motivation and energy and just relax. There will always be time to tidy tomorrow but exhausting yourself and draining your battery so far can cause you to need to take even more of time out if you push through - at least that's what I've experienced. I hope you take care and not only pat yourself on the back and get a facial but tell us you have engaged in self care after and are taking some well deserved time off.

One tip I can give everyone is get all the same hangers for the same clothes. Throw out all the hangers from the dry cleaners. I know it can be expensive but it looks so much better.

That peg system looks like what they call a French cleat. You see it used a lot in garages, especially old guys who like to make their own specialized bins.

Years ago, I discovered that I have bought twice the same t-shirt, just because I was not able at all to remember all the clothes in my closet. I 've got very angry when I realized, and open an Excel sheet to list and clasify all my clothes. Since then, when I see some clothes to buy, I check on my cell phone the Excel sheet to ensure myself that it is really a good idea. Now I buy much less clothes, and the number of my clothes have reduced quite a lot. And the closet headache, too.

This is a lot of work and takes some brain power too. I know this is a little bit older video. And purely for future reference. Those shelves can actually be adjusted. My closet system in Korea looks exactly like that one, and I adjusted mine when I moved in. There's little screws underneath on the corners that you can loosen/take out. It'll loosen the hardware and allow you to slide it up and down. The screws underneath look like they wouldn't work for that, but they do. 😊
