To be fair she had some monotonic lines that could be delivered better in some scenes. But in overall performance she did a great job for an acting debut! Looking forward for more projects

@@syungyul for her role as Sae byeok being closed off and cold and monotonous is kindof the point..after the kind of life she has lived she has learned to protect herself and to not trust anyone or open up...the only emotions she shows is mostly for her family and for ji yong in marbles game..

@@syungyul yeah and not to mention she had to speak with North Korean accent in some scenes other than this is her acting debut. Idk how well she did the accent since I don't speak Korean but I'm just saying that it's reasonable that she was worried since for most people acting with their own accent is already hard enough. She's a model though so she should have the basics when it comes to body language and facial expressions because modelling is a little bit like acting I suppose.

@@piya6929 (I’m korean) Actually there were some parts where the intonation and tone were unnatural. But her speaking tone and her facial expressions were sooooo good, so overall, I think her acting was pretty good:)

@@alia_babo And in the movie, she rarely spoke North Korean dialect. She mentioned in the interview that she used the Seoul accent when she was in front of South Koreans and only used the North Korean accent when she was angry or when she was with her family.

Can't believe the actress playing Saebyeok had cried and worried so much about her acting. It was her first role, but she did extremely well. Most young actors around her age couldn't even dream of having her level of insane talent playing such a complex and unique character.

Exactly. I'm shocked it was her first role and at the same time not really. They gave her a character that doesn't really emote much (at least outrightly) so they probably thought it was the safest choice (I'm assuming) but the actress really took the character to a whole other level. She never went out of character and yet she expressed so much feelings behind a stony mask. I understand why that one character garnered such a huge fanbase

A lot of beginner and "not so" established actors want to hang out on set to learn more of the craft and to ingratiate themselves with the crew and cast. The filming industry likes to work with people they know and like. Also it's great fun. As long as you don't get in the way, it's a wild experience. Every day it's something new and for the most part people are having a great time, well expect the "clean up" crew. Having to reset or clean up after a messy scene is no fun XD

I cant either. Those women dont look average at all. Imagine being poor and you look like that. All women do is expect from guys not provide much. A lot of dudes could try to be with a single girl even if they're nasty crazy bad personality unhealthy etc meanwhile they get to chose the best guy. The plot of this police man is so laughable how was he not caught and of course the random police man is related to someone in there. Oh and imagine not noticing your partner literally scooping and putting rocks into a bag for you and supposedly safe around your neck. Wouldn't want people taking them. He definitely didn't feel the bag like a normal person.

Many shows dont give secondary characters an oportunity to be fan favourites, squid game did a great job at lettin us love those characters as much ot even more than the main ones, and im so glad that ended up making the actors feel so good with what they acomplished with their acting.
