This is an advert by NordVPN, so having them call themselves 'best' isn't all too surprising. This 75% off deal is offered to everyone, so it's functionally 0% off. My main issue is their legal troubles though. I enjoyed using the application, but it constantly logged me out and I no longer trust them to protect my privacy.

how ironic that you make a WHOLE ASS VIDEO regarding capitalism winning, and how adverts and companies have drilled a hole in our brains....only to freaking shell out your nordvpn stuff. i understand you need to make money, but AT LEAST have the decency to not do such a blatant ad on a critique regarding consumerism and capitalism.

“The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.”

I saw The Matrix in a theater in 1999 with two other friends. I was 18, they were both 19. We were talkative young adults who loved to gab philosophy. When that movie ended, all three of us walked out of that movie silently, pondering. We didn't say a word for probably twenty minutes or so. Our minds were just reeling. So much has happened since then. It's nuts.

My thoughts exactly. The movie had caused much controversy...what angers me is that (as an example), the Vatican itself is (said to be) so darn corrupt...ashamed to call myself a Christian Catholic sometimes because of the hypocrisy etc in the Church. I don't intend to stir up trouble but the Vatican is clandestine in regards to their archives, their 'activities' for a reason. I'm not a non believer of God. I strongly believe in the infinite universe, I believe good & evil exists. At the same time I believe power - when placed into the wrong hands is abused completely. When I first saw the movie (I do love the Matrix Trilogy & it does speak many truths), I knew right away that many people would try to shut it right down / ban it.

The Matrix is the society we live in. It is this system in which we are so completely dependent upon. Grocery stores, the 9-5 job, the materialistic things we spend that 9-5 cash we earn on. It is the way we live which feeds the system. Our dependecy only feeds the machine. Self sufficiency is the enemy of the system..

Totally agree. In addition, The Wizard of Oz beautifully illustrates (and somewhat innocently) in its 'pull back the curtain' moment as to what extent 'the real' actually is and what could 'really' be fake. But has anyone seen the GREAT IRONY to all this? The perils of this fake, materialistic world had to be brought to the masses through the morality of a movie plot, and many would argue that the Hollywood machine is a prime conspirator in shielding us from our intrinsic thoughts and making us think more extrinsically, through advertising and unrealistic aspirations, as Chamath Palihapitiya and Johann Hari warn of. The reliance on repetitive jobs, poor relationships built on likes, bad consumerism, too much TV, fear propagated by the media, and a 'YOU MUST BE DOING THIS, THIS and THIS or YOU ARE A FAILURE' culture is stifling our intrinsic ability. Go your own way.

The responses to this statement is just another attack. Depression could be seen as something is missing, as in, we are locked and we cannot get out. Or we are free and we cannot get out. The same with the aspect of being awake and dreaming. Depression in itself could be representative of giving in. The emotions that run riot are not governed by a machine; our thoughts are our own. The determination of free will and destiny is the CHOICE OF ACTION OR INACTION. And so, the people here that are literally just attacking your statement are not completely understanding what you are saying. But don't worry, when watching this, I did question their comment about the depression. I am not stating that anyone is right or wrong, but I felt that it was not fair for your statement to be unheard.

Unplugging means to break free from lie. The idea of freedom is the ultimate system of control. The matrix is trying to convince you that technology is bad because technology has the ability to expose it. interesting...I disagree that it's not a technology, tho. And on screen I disagree with a definitive line between artificial and natural. Here's why: It's a "technology" in the sense that there exist exploitable, mathematical rules by which things work. We can engineer systems in which these rules, this quantumly computed matrix of fundamental physical values, can be manipulated in such a way as to serve the agency of free will from a self-aware, emergent being. Second disagreement is regarding the hard line between artificial and natural. The Cosmos is all things that exist. The Cosmos _is_ Nature. All things that exist are a subset of Nature. Therefore, _everything_ is natural, including free will or AI with it.
@testrabbit
@testrabbit 3 жыл бұрын
Oh and the by the second logic I have to conclude that the spiritual is a subset of the same Nature, although perhaps unexplained functionally heretofore by the mathematical models I loosely referred to as physics, which remains incomplete.

Ra'sheen Turpin This is a simulation. The physical realm is the first Matrix. That’s where the pods are..on Saturn and the Crystal rings transmit the energy. The Clones are necessary for transduction of Source Energy and to stimulate the Avatars in the simulation. Saturn and the moon are both Matrix control/management areas. The moon is outside the Matrix. The 5 senses are electrical impulses. We don’t have them outside Matrixes. Reincarnation occurred on the moon but that ended 3 &1/2 years ago. When Souls pass now..they return to Source.It’s complicated. We are in the ‘End Game’ right now.

I had something happen about a year ago that's left me wondering. I was driving home on the highway, 135 mile drive. And I always do about 9 over the speed limit to shave 30 minutes off a 2 hr drive. I'm in the lower part of the state on I-25 in Colorado, and I worked on cars doing bodywork and paint for 30 years. I passed a 2011 metallic grey Lexus that was a really nice car other than what looked like a relatively new scrap going down the front door, full length and about two inches deep and continuing halfway through the rear door. I never looked at the license plate and didn't think much of it. About 20 minutes later I passed a identical Lexus with the exact same sent starting at the very front of the front drivers door and continuing halfway through the back door. I was really tempted to pull over and wait for 10 or 15 minutes to see if the other car would go by. This was right at the start of the lockdown and only a handful of cars on the road in the middle of nowhere. And doing 9mph over the speed limit I rarely get passed by anyone and would have remembered the metallic grey Lexus passing me after I just passed him. I still swear it was the same car twice.

From physics we know the universe is made of particles making up atoms, cells, our bodies. There is infinite space in between. This gives wave length to the material world. The eyes and the brain collect these wave lengths and provide "solidity". The brain is a holographic camera. That is, we live in a hologram. "Each person is a leaf on the tree. We don't know we're part of the tree so each tries to out wiggle the other leaves for attention." paraphrase from Alan Watts.

exactly but freeing your mind is not about believing whatever you wanna believe. Is about winning an unwinnable war all by yourself against many many layers like culture, society, education, religion, money, competitors, criminals, taxes, laws, thought control, governments, brutality, real armies and nature itself. There is no escape from this unless you live in a cave with no one else around however you will find yourself in just in another predicament or in total anarchy. Just like in the movie only the supernatural could save us and I am not talking about religion but instead of all us working for making our lives more miserable (together) while rising a few ultra wealthy we should work to make this world an utopia by removing governments and religion out of the way. Laws, taxes and justice enforcement are needed but the current state of things are obsolete and just benefit few people in power while creating pain and misery for the masses, that's why we are modern slaves and technology growing is only adding sedative tools like video game, movies, etc while increasing control and surveillance via internet, AI, smartphones and devices. But there's another thing most people ignore completely and that's armies are deadlier than ever and are being automated almost entirely making revolutions almost a thing of the past. People didn't " wake up" on time the matrix as been perfected and the only thing that will set us free now is death.

During my own awakening this summer, I had an intense breakdown/ego death that was in several ways connected to this movie. I couldn't sleep, my body was rejecting food. I lost control, I started to see, say, and experience things I never thought were possible. My behavior was so out of control, so alien to those around me, it scared them and someone called the cops. They took me to a hospital and apart from basically being tortured and my consent disregarded and human rights disrespected.. one thing I continually find intriguing, bordering on creepy, is that I was injected with a bunch of drugs, and all of the injection sites were covered with peach colored band-aids except one. One of the band-aids had Bugs Bunny on it. All I could think of was, "Follow the white rabbit". 🐰

"White" people are really the color of raw flesh ( like raw chicken or bologna) because their skin is void of the human Earth pigmented/camouflaged layer. ALL Humans are warm climate land mammals. Thats where we have the most food. There is no place on Earth that i know of where being "white" (or flesh/meat colored) makes sense. If white people had there own separate natural environment some where on Earth there would be butt naked white indigenous tribes there right now, or evidence of them. If the snow was so called "white" people's natural environment they would be able to survive in the snow naked and there would be butt naked "white" tribes living in the Arctic right now. About 20 years ago when I was still in highschool, the ideas relayed by "The Matrix" was so mind blowing, I instantly fell in love with philosophy. Though at the time, the majority of people merely saw the movie at its face value and considered it nothing more than entertainment, like a how one would regard a video game. On a field trip, I had discussed the ideas of how life could actually be simulated. It was somthing that a NewScientist magazine article (I can't remember which issue, but it should be within the 2000-2003 archive) had actually explored and I had found it fascinating and decided to share it with a few classmates one night. I was instantly ridiculed and was told i was "crazy" while one classmate dragged in others to laugh when I presented the idea of how this world and ultimately ourselves, could be a mere simulation. At the time I seemed to have been was one of the early adopters of the philosophies following the release of "The Matrix" and had explored the ideas with great interest down avenues that were available at the time. It has taken the rest of the world many years to catch on and today it's quite a prevalent concept that's entertained by society as 'an intriguing conversation topic.' The point I want to make here is, *don't be dismissive of ideas that your mind can't grasp because as how Jordan Peterson elegantly articulates it "assume there is something that the other person knows, that you don't* " Don't laugh at what you can't understand, It just shows how much of an ignoramus you are.

“Likes” are a means of validation, just like money, just like praise, just like degrees. Using it to define who you are is nothing new.
@user-ss4nw7ue7j
@user-ss4nw7ue7j 3 жыл бұрын
If you think about it, what you said is valid, however there are people out there that see this 'like' system to be a good thing. Just hear me out: Ever heard of the game, Death Stranding? The creator, Hideo Kojima responded to the idea of the 'like' system so that players could potentially be more connected in a game that is only for single players. A little aspect of wanting connections to be made, even for the validation of work that is done from one player (such as building a bridge) that another player can use and say thank you through a 'like'. Connection and validation is still an issue, a saddening one, whereas for some people, it is indeed needed on a large scale. Having 'likes', followers or degrees under one's belt can perhaps help some find that connection and validation, but for many, I try and see it as a learning curve; it is not a waste of time to try these things out and discover that is is not for you. Praise should be done in moderation. And money is unfortunately the currency. I would rather have the currency go back to a favour for a favour, such as: "help build my thatch roof and you can have two of my chickens" sort of deal. But...it isnt. This is how it is. And it is everyone's choice whether to do something about it, go with the flow, against it, or find another way. There are many ways to live, and suggestions and togetherness through connection can perhaps help the sharing of ideas. So, in fairness, life is a learning curve and defining who you are is a full time job. Noone gets it the first time, and others get it really quickly. Doesnt mean the things that didnt work out are a waste a time; because they are not. It's all in the learning. And all in the sharing of experiences and ideas. So, yes, you are right. It is nothing new. But it shouldnt be dismissed as a bad thing either.
@C_The_Guy
@C_The_Guy 3 жыл бұрын
no, the means of validation is not the thing thats new, its the technological system and social construct formed around it thats supports this new “value system” thats new. if we all universally agree on the value of a like, and hold it to high regard, then the people who control, manipulate and influence the way we earn likes has control over us. they can create obstacles, and pay walls, and hoops for us to jump through, to encourage to work harder for likes. and once we are hooked, they get us to voluntarily perform labor, sacrifice rights, hand over information and data almost anything. you have people out here, voluntarily giving your their personal information, for free, on social media, just for the prospect of likes. its a dangerous new currency that has ingrained itself into our society. and if you dont believe how dangerous it is, just look at how firm of a grip it has on today’s children. committing crimes, physically and psychologically torturing themselves with all these “challenges” just for likes. even killing themselves over this. this is quite more than just a mere simple means of “validation” its become a way of life.

This is the basic program. Few variations are added with time in the form of phone, internet, etc. But among all these, we forget that ultimately we will die. Our destination and destiny is death. So, why are we doing all these?? We have been told that our soul or consciousness is eternal, it never dies, which means we have unlimited time or infact their is nothing like past, present and future. Time is constant for us. Time is neither moving forward or going backward. Just our earthly body ages with time, it dies. May be taking birth and dying is not true. Maybe in reality we are just moving from one programe to another and this human body or me is a character of one of the program and like at the end of every game the character dies and revives again and again till the time the game is played.

As my friends and I walked out of the theatre after watching _The Matrix_ one of them said "Wow, what if that happened one day?" My answer was "What makes you so sure it hasn't happened already?" Now we live in a world where people care more about how many followers they have on Twitter, how many "friends" on Facebook, how many likes they get to their comments, tweets, posts etc than about what is actually real and sit in echo chambers enforced by the algorithms that read their preferences and feed them a steady diet of the same stuff. And we wonder why so many people are convinced that you must be crazy to think that the Earth is a globe or is more than 6000 years old because "all the evidence" supports their worldview. Some one needs to reprogram the algorithms to make suggestions that take people out of their comfort zones and present them with things that will make them think critically.
@lightbeforethetunnel
@lightbeforethetunnel 3 жыл бұрын
I believe the Earth is a globe and older than 6,000 years old... But ask yourself this: How certain can you really be that it isn't? Those beliefs were simply told to us. We haven't verified it for ourselves.
@wolf1066
@wolf1066 3 жыл бұрын
@@lightbeforethetunnel These are not "beliefs" that are "simply told to us". They are things that have been *independently verified* over and over again *and* supported by their relationship to *other sciences* - you can't throw out the Earth being a globe or the age of the Earth without throwing out numerous other sciences as well... which is why the YECs keep going on about "Carbon dating is inaccurate" (as if it's the *only* means of dating) and flat-earthers keep denying space travel has occurred (funnily enough, they *still* trust their GPS which, according to them, can't possibly work. Perhaps they think god's making it work). Verifying that the Earth is a globe is a matter of simple observation, calculating its circumference (which you could *not* do if it were flat) is so simple, it was done in 240BCE using very basic tools. Verifying the age of the Earth would take more education and better equipment but it is still something you could conceivably do. I've *personally verified* the curvature of the Earth - because it's so easy to do. I haven't verified the age of the Earth as I'm not trained in the relevant areas, but given a choice between the independent verifications by thousands of people and *one* book written thousands of years ago, I'm going to go with the independent verifications.
@lightbeforethetunnel
@lightbeforethetunnel 3 жыл бұрын
@@wolf1066 Well that's excellent that you verified it yourself. As I said, I don't believe the Earth is flat. But most people don't verify it themselves and simply accept what they're told to believe. I see that's not what you did, which is great. But most do simply just accept what they're told without independence verification. And the reason why that's not a good idea is the official/mainstream narrative can be wrong/lies. A quick search for "Conspiracy theories that turned out to be true" shows the list is actually quite long. If no one ever dares to question the official narrative for any of them, the truth never would have been exposed. So the overall point I'm making is the official narrative can be wrong and shouldn't be blindly accepted like most do. Even when it appears to be verified by many authority figures, it can still be false or lies.
@wolf1066
@wolf1066 3 жыл бұрын
@@lightbeforethetunnel OTOH, just because *some* conspiracies turned out to be true, it does not mean people should just believe whatever conspiracy they're told - especially when stepping out of their echo chamber for a while and doing a bit of *actual research* (rather that endlessly parroting "facts" spouted by their chief nutters) would show them exactly how stupid their conspiracy is. Instead, we get uneducated drongoes claiming the lunar landing (note the *singular* because the morons aren't aware that there were more than one) was a hoax and that the globe Earth is a conspiracy that has simultaneously lasted *thousands of years* _and_ was started by an organisation that wasn't created until 1958! Apparently all the intellectuals of the ancient world were NASA shills...

You have to question everything you’ve ever been told. If someone makes a statement that conflicts with what you believe, the next step is to investigate why they believe as they do. If their belief can hold up enough integrity to be plausible, it’s time to question your own beliefs. Question why you believe as you do and search for the answers. If you still feel that your belief has more validity than theirs, keep holding on to that belief. If you feel like their belief actually makes more sense, it’s ok to update your beliefs. Why keep believing in Santa Clause after you’ve seen the truth? Repeat the process every time your beliefs are challenged.

Synchronicity. Lets say i walk twords my computer with a mathematical problem on say string theory. Before i even sit down the answer is on the screen. Why? Cause They have discovered particles that move faster than photons or light. Soooo this means they are traveling backward in time. At the speed of light time stops. I thought about writing this hours ago. Cause & effect moves backward sometimes causing synchronicity. Ever think everything is going wrong? Think.

As a strange phenomena I have observed when I was playing games(Genshin Impact) recently, though I got partially addicted, unlike most players who aim to level up their characters and max out the in-game rewards, namely gacha germs, I did my best to make it peaceful, in a way that my account would not need much rewards to operate to cut off play time. And also, I take the game's lore kind of seriously if I come over something interesting during quests(namely the Sumeru archon quest which is heavily connected to the same themes as the Matrix), and from there begins a mindbattle inside my brain, and I was and am thinking all day about the reality of the world of that game and how detached I am from reality, including and not limited to about if we should have an imaginary world in our minds or not, what would happen if the brain plugins become too advanced that it can change our memory, what is open-world games and what are they mean to be (now I understand they're made from the same stuff as the Matrix), games and social media are good or not. Nearly give me a mental breakdown for the first time after reading 1/3 of which is quite a lot that my parents banned me from thinking about that game when not playing it (they're smart enough to not ban me from the game directly) but it seems like everyone can't reject from getting away from reality into a world manipulated by the Internet companies… Even an extraordinary people like me, and Neo struggled with it at the beginning, right?
