I'm still a couple of years away from getting a new laptop, but every single aspect of this looks right up my alley, from the lack of the number pad to the QHD over 4k to save some battery to having a couple of USB-A legacy ports. I hope they have something similar when I'm in the market for laptop.

I really liked the gigabyte aero 15 and razer blade 15 advanced model but this looks like a perfect balance between design & power.. please if possible review the creator 17 model and maybe compare them with other laptops that are in similar price point..

1- You don't need other laptops to know if your laptop is overheating. Man just played game and said it'snot noisy & or have heat. RTX3060 uses less energy than RTX3050 already. 2- Benchmark? For what? You know MSI isn't only one who has RTX3060 and i7 ? If you want the benchmark of the graphics card, google it. Laptop doesn't matter.

I am in the market for a new laptop (my current personal one is a 10-year old first generation XPS 15, lol) and I have been waiting for a proper review of the z16 for months, so thank you. Bit disappointed about the 3060 only option and the toastiness. It's almost there, but it doesn't blow me away as much as I hoped. You mentioned in your review that all major manufacturers have this crossover niche covered... could you do a comparison vid about creator/gaming crossovers?

I personally just got the Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16" version. It's got a lot of the same characteristics as this one, 120hz QHD 16:10 screen (matte but not touch), Ryzen 5800h, GPU is a bit weaker with a RTX 3050. I would love it if you did a review of it, you may like it even better than this one. Battery life is actually better with the ryzen chip despite the smaller battery!

16:9 conforms perfectly to the original HDTV specifications in the USA. I always look for 16:10 when I want a PC/productivity screen. Scaling documents to work on is much easier with the slightly greater height. 16:10 is almost always 1200 pixels or more in height. The solution before 16:10 and greater than 1080 pixel height used to be buying a monitor that could rotate to 9:16 for working on documents. 3:2 is no good for me because I always leave space on the sides for auxiliary tools or laying out 2 documents side by side.

I got MSI Summit 15 for some time, it was also with touch screen, and it got crazy each time i reboot the machine. The cursor started to randomly move clicking everything around. I decided to turn it off in device manager afterwards - useless function IMO. Would love to see the keyboard quality similar to Alienware M17 as well. The body in general looks simply - cheap. Compared to others brands. I’d expect more from MSI tbh, however the price is 👍

It has an i7-11800h it is color accurate you can get a 4K AMOLED with multi-touch support or a FHD screen with multitouch and the other one for non touch. If I were you I would probably buy it. I bought the creator z16 A11UET version after watching this review. It is a physically beautiful laptop. However, even on silent mode it is very noisey as the fans constantly switch on and off (this is during light online browsing). Silent mode states that "noise level is kept below 29db." However, when I use it the fans turn on and off every 20 or so seconds (usually when a browser loads etc) . It sounds fine but when it's 49dbs of sound for 10 seconds and then silence followed by 49db of sound over and over again -it very quickly becomes annoying. I contacted MSI about it and they said that the 29db applies only when the fans aren't engaged. Great. Never had to use headphones for a laptop until now. Regretful purchase and definitely going to sell.

Looks good but it’s the little things that make the biggest difference… IR Windows Hello, 16:9 aspect ratio (bottom bezel has to go), full size SD card, charging through USB-C (no dedicated power port… use that space inside and out for something else) , Fingerprint reader on the power button, bigger trackpad, 400 nits (I think premium laptops usually are about 500 even though 400 is still very good), anti reflective coating to maybe minimize some of the gloss…. I’m being extremely picky though… but honestly this still looks great… I just don’t think it can compete with the other models and brands that have those little things that make the biggest difference. I think gamers will love it but for creators and average consumers it might be a miss. Just my opinion…. I will say though the ability to upgrade the RAM and SSD does put a lot of those things to rest because you can future proof this a bit longer than other models that don’t have the upgradability option. We’ll see. If they can fine tune and add those little things, I think this thing can definitely be the best if not one of the best Windows Laptops out on the Market. It looks promising but needs a little bit of work to get me to pull the trigger. I still think XPS 17 is the best Windows laptop out there…. For now…. Even though Dell has a great deal of QC issues they definitely need to fix. Again just an opinion. Many might not agree and that’s cool. It’s all love. 👍🏼

last year I bought a "creator laptop" from MSI, the Prestige 15. Good things: screen, keyboard, it's thin & light (1.6kg), performance is good, ram & ssd is upgradable (it even has 2 nvme slots) Now the bad things: power management sucks, battery drain out totally after sleeping for 3-4 days. that's the worst from a windows laptop I ever used (I used Asus, HP, thinkpad, and a MBP 15), no BIOS update. The hinge is weak. The speakers are basically useless. And the worst: both ssd slots are pcie3x2, which is 2 lanes pcie means read/write speed is limited at around 2GB/s no matter if you put faster ssd in it, which is insane, there's nothing on their website mention about this. Long story sort: I would recommend you do throughout research, and hands on if you can before buying creator laptop from MSI, they're good on specs but not so good experience in daily usage.

I know why your laptop's battery died every 2 -3 days. It happened to me and I was never able to fix it. They have USB-C power through, which means that you can connect your phone to your laptop and charge it even though your laptop is turned off. Even if you don't have anything plugged in, the battery drained because it wasn't really off. This was the worst! I ordered this (Z16) and it arrives tomorrow, hopefully that shit is fixed.

@@tf2368 Honestly I think that $2600 is completely justified for the only Creator/Gaming laptop in the market that sports a "16:10 QHD, 120Hz Touch Screen". You can buy a cheaper RTX 3060 laptop for sure, but it won't have battery life provided by QHD resolution, convenience of Touch input, or gaming ability of 120Hz refresh rate. As far as I know, the MSI Creator Z16 is the first laptop ever to have ALL 3 of these qualities in a Display, which is significant. And I'm sure MSI know that too which explains the price.

I assure you with a roughly 1000€ (or dollars) laptop working even on Lightroom or base video editing is a pain. I used to think like that until I felt the need to upgrade the pc for more serious photo and video editing. Cameras have evolved and a 30-45MP is not anymore handled with a 1000€ machine. Even 24MP if you shoot videos

Not sure if you will see let a lone comment on this, but I am looking for a very high end work laptop for mobile 3D scanning for prototyping on site. I have the ability to toss in any GPU I want to the laptop, thanks to the Razer Core X, however CPU processing power is still a bottleneck with rendering the scans after the fact. With all of that being said, I would like to avoid lugging the Core X around if at all possible, but would be willing to o so if the rest of the laptop was performant to fully process a scan file onsite, same day. I had a 5 year-old i5 2 core CPU laptop that was fantastic for doing silly projects, or gaming while traveling but it could not handle the professional workload of a 3D Scanner (ARTEC Series). That all to say, what would you recommend as a work laptop to perform this kind of project, with an operating budget of around $5,000.

Hey Tom, I got a question about the heat - I'm super interested in buying the laptop as it is just the right combination of specs, ports and display quality for me! Under full load, when the exhaust above the keyboard is getting hot, is it uncomfortable to use the function keys? And does the air blow a little bit towards the screen or does it come out in a straight line towards the upper direction? Im wondering if the heat could damage the screen in the long run... I'm really hoping it does not as this might be the perfect choice for me!
@stukabomber5170
@stukabomber5170 Жыл бұрын
even though my reply is a little too late, but the heat is a minor problem, the performance is horrible after heating a bit even with the great specs. I bought an MSI, reliable i thought, but the battery stopped working 5 days after using it haha. If you havent bought it, you have dodged a bullet there.
@andme-cf7kj

@@stukabomber5170 looks like I really did dodge a bullet, I am so sorry to hear that! Check all options for returning that thing, I wish you the best of luck with that! I actually did buy an MSI laptop at that time, even though I opted for another model. During the first day, 2 keys jumped out and couldn't be reapplied to the keyboard - and it ran smoking hot too! Explaining what happened to the customer service was a real struggle as keys usually only fall out due to damage by the customer. I now have a desktop and I highly recommend that if you do not need the power on the go - which you probably do though as I did at that time. Laptops always get too hot and even the most expensive ones don't have the thermal management we wish for...

Make MSI Z16P ( Specially Creator Pro - Z16P B12U Because it has a full size vapour chamber which I think It is USP) and MSI Z17 laptops (2022 models) full in depth separate review and one detailed comparison video. Also you can make comparison video of previous generation of same models because they upgraded their products at near perfect level. I think MSI can compete with ASUS in every aspect, so it is a great time to create an amazing video about it. It is also beneficial to MSI to reach the market where their no significant presence or they considered after 4 - 5 laptop brands and ended with those brands only because there is very less or no after sales services provided by the brand. MSI has the products which are providing overall value for money and can make their strong presence in the every laptop segment. I hope you understand my point of view and accordingly. Thank You. 😊
