I’ve have a 65” Panasonic LZ2000 and I love it. A absolutely fantastic TV which has been criminally overlooked by all the U.K. reviewers, apart from Vincent at HDTV Test. Not saying it’s the best TV, but but I cannot understand why no one even reviews it…..will probably be the same for this years MZ2000.

I want to retire my old Sony 55" and replace it with a 65". I'm thinking burn-in resistance may be its MOST necessary feature as it will always be showing the same screen when not showing TV/Movies. I can't remember when I last heard any reviewer covering the use case "bright as possible" and "NO burn in".

@stopthehomo8811Really bro...old junk.....for a $1000, that's still premium and junk don't command that asking price. LG CS is a great oled, i get that it still uses wbc instead wbe panels "Evo" but it uses the alpha 9 gen 5 processing of the C2...not junk by any means...you might say premium on a budget😂😂...

@stopthehomo8811 Hardly. I like it. It's brand new. Every time you buy a car or TV. It becomes old and out of date. Even the 83 inch oleds. So, who cares.

Great video, just wanted to say that burn-in prevention features like pixel shift and pixel refresher are also on way older oled models and many of which have burn in. So while newer oleds are more resistant “maybe” those features are not exclusive to them and probably won’t make such a difference. My B7 still goes strong even after 5 years of gaming :)

Great video - fwiw, I'll add my 2 cents regarding size. The human eye has a very narrow focal area of around 20 degrees and watching the full screen within as much of the focal area as possible is a completely different experience than watching 50% of the movie in focal vision and the rest in peripheral vision. Essentially, you choose 100% of the image vs 50% of the image in focus. Sony is now offering the ability to reduce your TV size through the settings so you have the option to go from a 65 inch to a 60 or 55 inch (or any size you choose) which is an interesting twist to the mix allowing for different FOVs based on content. E.g. if you're watching sports like tennis or soccer, it's easier to see the whole field in a smaller TV or to follow the tennis ball without your eyes darting back and forth from one side of the TV to the other. If you're watching a TV show, you may opt for the full size or a slightly reduced size. With a movie, you can choose the whole screen for a more cinematic experience. Also size affects brightness and in this age of 2,000 nit TVs, a 65 inch isn't just 40% large but it's also 40% brighter at the same brightness level as a 55 inch (40% more light bulbs emanating the same brightness). So those 2,000 nits on a 65 inch will be the equivalent of 2,800 nits on a 55 inch from your eye's perspective. A 77 inch TV is going to be 4,000 nits and so on and so forth. You will tone down brightness massively as you increase size to reduce eye strain and bias lighting is a must for larger TVs and probably should come with it like the Philips. Finally, wall mounting reduces the TV's size by 7-10 inches which means you can save money by placing it on a cabinet (one foot away from the wall).

Just got a second hand fullHD Panasonic Plasma for 30€, and it blows anything out of the water when it comes to price/performance. OLED like colours, magnificent uniformity and brightness, deep blacks, excellent viewing angles, 1:1 pixel perfect Blu Ray playback, 3x SCART RGB, composite, 4x HDMI, so perfect for a bunch of retro consoles. Best of all, no stinking smart OS that ruins the experience.

I have an LG C1 48" as my monitor it's great. For my living room TV I have a 65" Samsung KS8000. I thought about upgrading my living room TV but won't since I game on the OLED. For a 2016 TV it looks great and with the settings I got it looks pretty good though not as good as my OLED. I use a 1080p Sony KDL-55W900A in my bedroom that I bought in 2012 it works great and I occasionally watch 3D movies on it. I don't have the latest and greatest but they all have their purpose.

I work with tvs and those Samsungs and early LEDs are rubbish. The 8000 series from Samsung drive me crazy because so many people want them but ultimately they break, the picture quality sucks. The only good thing about them is that they're cheap and thin. Legit buy a cheap Hisense mini led and it will destroy most tvs in their respective price brackets.

Actually, maybe you can help me. I have a 2013 Samsung LED 55" (UA55F7100) but yesterday I accidentally looked at TV's when buying a new fridge. I was blown away by the quality of the new OLED from all the companies, especially the Samsung and LG. Can I ask is the a massive difference in these 2 technologies when it comes to streaming on Prime and Netflix? I know those store demo modes make them look outrageously good, I would prefer to take my tv in and set it up side by side with a usb stick and a movie I am familiar with to try and recognise any difference. I am a little perplexed as there was an opened box deal on just 1 Samsung 77" S95C for only $2500AUD which is roughly 1285 pounds but I am worried it's over kill as I only use the TV for movies, I don't have it connected to an antenna. Any advice would be truly appreciated as that TV could sell at any moment.

I myself unless something fails will always purchase any new TV’s between late October and early April and last year I bought two. Last October I picked up a 65” Samsung QN90B which has been a phenomenal set and one I use every day but I couldn’t quite get the OLED out of my mind and two months later(Dec 21 to be exact) I went in and purchased a 77” LG G2(my first OLED) and also bought the Denon X4800H AVR. I had to wait until end of January for the Denon to release so I had them both delivered and installed at the same time(Feb 13) and I moved the QN90B to my upstairs living room and have been rocking it all ever since. It’s been great and don’t anticipate needing to upgrade again anytime soon especially with the extended 5 year panel warranty on the G2. That being said if I were looking this fall instead of last fall I’d have absolutely no problem getting the TCL QM8 and I’d most likely get the 98”. The tv is just phenomenal this year and TCL really knocked it out of the park.

I need a TV specifically FOR static elements. It will stay on the same screen (a "news mix" with 6 sub-windows) unless being used for TV/film, which will be rare. And it's a bright room. I don't believe you need to upgrade your sound system as often as you would your TV, which logically should be all that frequent. Once every 10 years? If it ain't broke. So most should already have a speaker system. Don't do it if you don't have to. New TV for your new console vs. new TV to watch sports or movies. Not really worth it imo

cant lie refresh rate is king as well as hdr modes, especially when mostly using a pc as an input. I used to think 60hz was plenty but once you start using 120/144 hz its tough to go back. HDR10 is problematic especially using a windows computer as sadly windows implementation of HDR is still piss poor.

I ended up buying the Samsung AU7110 55 Inch. God do I regret it. What an absolute pile of shit. The software is so laggy it's infuriating. Trying to navigate around and there's over a second delay between clicking the button and something actually happening. Sometimes apps just get stuck in an eternal loading state. Even increasing or decreasing the volume there is a huge delay. Pretty disappointing paying over 400 quid for that. I was looking at throwing it in the bin and getting the Sony XR-55A75K - 55 Inch - BRAVIA XR. Is this something you would recommend?

You only buy TV's during Black Friday, Before Xmas and Boxing day. Been following the patterns of Samsung price drops since 2011 and you always get bargains then
