In today’s vlog we do so much fun baby stuff and have a little sit down chat with you guys! First we get Jackson a new activity center with a moving bottom and put that together. Then we show the baby a mirror and he seems to love looking at himself lol or maybe he just thinks it’s another cute baby? We’re not sure. We also give Jackson some cereal for the very first time and it was so cool to see him eating like a big boy! He picked up the eating thing right away and he seemed to really like the cereal too! We had some spaghetti for dinner and then sat down for a little chat with you guys. We talked about the KZfaq vids we watched and gave you guys the update after Jackson’s 4 month physical, it went really well, we forgot to mention it in the video but he’s in the 97% for his height and 88% for his weight and the doctor said he was very healthy and she was super happy with his progress! So that was really good to hear. Then we shared some of our current thoughts about everything that’s going on right now and how we hope things will go back to normal one day soon. We also talked about the dentist and how we got cavities lol. I think we might have been delirious at the end there! Tim does some more work on the LEGO roller coaster, it's almost done! We'll have the completed roller coaster vid up soon! Thank you for hanging out with us at home today! We'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

Love you guys! I'm a Psychologist and you brought up a couple of things I would like to comment on (from one Psychologists perspective). Research actually shows that responding to a baby when they express needs (like crying!) helps them develop what we call a secure attachment style :) Letting him cry it out at this point is not recommended (again, as far as this Psychologist is aware). When it comes to crawling/walking, babies learn through observation and motivation! Jackson will learn to crawl (after he is physically developed enough to be able to do so) when he wants things that are out of his reach. That little bit of frustration is motivating! It helps if they have seen the behavior modeled by others, so maybe Tim should try crawling during tummy time! We would all love to see that.... Your videos are so nice to have with everything going on right now. They make me feel better every day. Thanks!

This needs more likes! So important to have this information. I know you don't really have time as a new parent, but I highly suggest learning about how your baby's brain works. Advice that you get from people in the comments or your family/friends might just not be state of the research anymore. Also, trust your instincts. They won't fail you.

I’m doing my undergrad in Mental Health but have to take a lot of psychology courses obviously and I was thinking the exact same thing! The attachment styles, Albert Bandura’s modelling, development...everything! So crazy to see it in real life and not just on a slideshow in lecture or textbook!

Dasani isn’t sold in the UK any more due to the fact it was marketed as natural spring water, but it was actually tap water from the Main water supply. It was technically mineral water because it was water with minerals put in it but a lawsuit was brought against Coca-Cola and they just pulled it out of the country

So fun facts, “occupational therapists” do work with people’s “daily occupations” and activities, (not necessarily meaning career). So for Jackson, his occupation is eating, sleeping, and learning how to interact with the world around him!

rin0015 I'm curious why you refer to them as "panic shopping"? Aren't most people at this point just plain shopping? Or perhaps carefully planning out meals for a couple of weeks at a time and shopping all at once so they only get exposed to the world once. But panic? Really?

I’ve read the reason humans take so long to develop is that they are not born full term. There is a 4th trimester where infants should still be in the womb but a woman’s body cannot carry an infant to full term. It also explains why the first 4 months are so difficult with trying the establish sleep patterns, dealing with colic, their stomachs not being fully formed for solid food ect. Pretty interesting stuff!

My lil girl was born at 42 weeks. We almost lost her my placenta had stopped working so she had nothing for 14 days. She was dry as a bone with really really dry skin nd was born with her fist in her mouth. I was told that the midwife had got her due date wrong nd because with my first baby I was induced so with my second I didn’t go into labour naturally. I was told my by consultant that if she was born a day later she would of been born asleep. She 9 now and as healthy as anything but I still have nightmares even now.

That’s what they were referring to. Not that he did anything wrong just the fact of how the World was 3+ weeks ago when things were normal. They know it was pre recorded.

To me disinfecting everything is excessive. I get groceries I'm not leaving them outside for 3 days for the animals and rain. I get a box from Amazon I'm not using a can of Lysol on it. I get take out I'm not taking it out of the container and microwaving it when it's still plenty hot. I wash my hands often and that's about it.

As a nurse practitioner, Im giving you a hi-five. What you are doing is MOST effective in preventing the spread. Cross contamination voids all wiping down of stuff. There will always be one "dirty hand" that touches the items if hands arent washed between each item cleaning. How does one completely wipe down something with one hand??

My mom is a retired RN and agrees that we should only do as much as is reasonable like frequent hand washing etc. Like she says we are still here so what we are doing is effective enough lol.

My 7 month old daughter has the same skip hop table and LOVES it! She’s quite a bit older than Jackson but is actually smaller than him. He’s such a big strong boy! Love watching him grow along with my little one 🥰

I absolutely died when you said maybe I need to crawl, that was too funny! And yes....my dentist told me I had 5 cavities and I got a second opinion and the second dentist said I had no cavities, I'm not a fan of dentists, some of them just want my money.

I’m in the middle of teaching my 7 month old how to fall asleep on his own. It’s hardddddd. Our pediatrician gave me a hard time last appointment for not moving him out of our room at 4 months. I was not ready then and my son definitely wasn’t ready then. Honestly I’d still rather have him in our room, but he’s too big for his bassinet and was getting woken up by me shifting in the bed and my husband’s alarm in the morning. It started to be more detrimental than anything. He cries, but he sleeps a lot more restful sleep and is happier in the day!

Your pediatrician is wrong... AAP literally suggests baby stays in parents room for the first year to reduce risk of SIDS...

I would switch doctors ASAP. It’s not up to the doctor how long your child sleeps in your room. It’s completely up to the parent and what works for them. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Don’t let your doctor pressure you into doing something you’re not comfortable with.
